I hope so! but it seems to just make sense when others try to sign to me. Regardless of what they know. I use to now be able to (or at least not well) Now I can make sense of almost every sign people try to sign to me... Though deaf peeps can sign REALLY quick,.... makes it confusing!

Oh, believe me... I know... I've had 3 teachers who've been deaf and I go to a lot of deaf socials in which I have to do my best to keep up. And then feel like a stupid person when I have to go "Sorry, can you please repeat yourself. And a bit slower please?"

But I rarely need to - for the most part, I can keep up, and there are times my friends have to tell me to slow down as well because I go too fast for them. I ran into a friend of a friend last semester who I knew was fluent in sign, and we totally started signing like crazy, totally forgetting that our friends were with us who were hearing. And they were all looking at us like O.O "Woah, what's going on?!"

HAhahahaha I SOOOO need to get my best friend going with this again, though her boyfriend took that class so now it's no fun signing in front of him because he knows what we are talking about

She is not around anymore she is out in a college far away... and even if she was home I feel like we would not hang out much... She was more of a high school best friend. Though she is the one who wants to become a foreign langue teacher~

Skype is the way to go there - sign via webcam. That's how I have to do it from time to time.

Skype is a wonderful tool! I used it to talk to a friend of mine, from Finland and other countries. :3

It really is a wonderful tool! I've had hours long convos on Skype with my friend in Finland - like from 2 am till 10 am. Haha! Yay for being able to do that for free!

You can get a webcam and attach it to your computer if you don't have one on your laptop. If you want it to work... find a way to make it work.

hahahaha I don't much care to have it work sadly... I just want to use it more... I'll be more active when i'm at school I swear! right now i'm enjoying my lazy days~

It's so wonderful that it's free. My girlfriend and I have a long distance relationship, and being able to see/hear each other is a big part of us staying so serious with each other, despite being half way across a country from one another. It's hard not being able to be close to her, but if I can just see her smile, then my whole day is much better :3

Awww, that's great that it helps you two out like that! That's great!! =]

I would even say heart warming! though sadly to say I don't need it for anything

My main language is English, but I am about 40% fluent in Italian and Spanish I'm studying both on my own and I know some phrases in French and German.

I also like learning other foreign languages as well such as Tegalo which is the native language which people from the Phillipines speak. On the cruise I sailed on most workers are from the Phillipines (Indonesia, Malaysia..etc.) it makes them smile when someone says something in their native tongue. It's really cool

I wish I could talk English better. My spelling is awful :D I might try too much. But sadly, via video-chat etc., sounds too scary to me practise. Talking with anyone in English sounds scary. And I'm bad talking without thinking. My tongue just gets so sloppy and no one understands me even though I'd speak Finnish :Dd

I'm quite a stranger with skype. I do have an account I think, but I've never used it, and my bestfriend wants to always use facebook-call. Which I hate, because my computer's so slow :I

Mimmumu, is English a required subject to take in Finland?

Xuv... Deaf Mute is honestly an offensive term to use. Deaf people are not MUTE by any means, and in fact most of the Deaf people I know are the loudest people I know - by that I mean that they will say whatever is on their mind even if you don't want to hear it. They are so chatty. Honestly, I find that term Deaf Mute offensive, So so so offensive. So no... not quiet at all!

I know not all deaf are mute, I literally mean the ones that can't speak but can hear. Two different disability.
Not all deaf are mute, not all mute are deaf, I know that. I am sorry you take it that way, I am just being specific.

I remember two occasions that I saw a group of them chat using sign language, I only heard muffled voice which I am not sure whether it is from them or not. I don't know whether they are mute or deaf or both.

Then you shouldn't say Deaf Mute, because saving them together is saying that they are dumb. All Deaf will use their voice without realizing they're using their voice because they CAN NOT hear to know that they're using it. I know that some of my hearing friends are a bit weirded out but that, but honestly, it's what comes with it...

Just saying putting them together like that is offensive. You should have worded it like that the first time with what you meant...
