@Kenome: That's a good one! After like 2003 or so, Green Day stopped doing punk and started doing pop, so they are hard to appreciate now.

Wow, really? Gosh. I suddenly feel distanced from my childhood. It's like that time I heard South Park is almost over. o_o

@Dae: Despite my distaste for Demi Lovato and Disney singers in general, I confess to liking that song. >.>

Vox: I don't mind Disney singers but that song holds a special place in my heart. And I feel like it doesn't really have the "Disney" sound to it. It doesn't sound crazy pop-ish and how it's a nice balance of male and female vocals.

Good shit guys! I love white noise, I'm gonna listen to a few of these today. I'm just posting again cause i figured I would put links up to the songs/bands I mentioned so far, and I may share more later after I listen to some more from you guys.

Shiva In Exile: Ethnic NOMAD - YouTube

Two Ton Boa - Porcelain Throne - YouTube

Unleash The Archers The Worthy And The Weak - YouTube (as you might expect from a band like this they are super hit and miss, but this is one of my favorites. The first two are more consistently awesome)

---------- Post added 05-01-2013 at 11:08 AM ----------

actually I had to do one more. These are White Rabbits. My favorite is percussion gun.

White Rabbits "Percussion Gun" Official Video - YouTube

Also hush hush is great! Thats kind of what made me think of white rabbits. thanks for sharing again!

Ok I don't listen to the music you guys listen to. I also don't listen to music anyone in my area listens to lol!

I know of an artist that is everywhere in the anime world but no one knows her. It's really boggles me that she is so unknown yet so popular at the same time. Her name is Yuki Kajiura. I tried making a thread before but no one knew her so it died. She makes her own type of music it has no genre but she is used for many animes and some video games.

I also listen to old bands from around the world like Weiss Kreuz (japan), Malice Mizer (Japan), Tic Tac Toe (German), Blumchen (German), and other ones that I can't remember at this time.

I have to be honest I have shown Yuki to so many people that love different music and they all have loved Yuki. Now I can't be 100% sure you'll like her but I have yet seen a person not liking her work.

Um, I like Emilie Autumn. I don't really know is she famous or not, but she doesn't make videos - except FLAG, which came a few days ago out - or let her songs to be played in radio. :/ She got a quite unique voice! And she's mad, but that just makes her songs more interesting. C: I can't really say in which genre she sings...

YUCK.
I don't really like Green Day after they're cd Dookie.
xD
I guess I'm picky in my punk.

I feel close to mine only because any of the video games I played as a kid I still play today.
On their orignal systems.

I completely approve. I am such a folk junkie. And while we're doing this, how about The Devil Makes Three? Similar to OCMS but a little... grittier and darker, I guess? Thank you Cherry for making me think of them!

@Kenome: I've never heard anything by them from before they did Dookie, haha. I feel like in between that album and American Idiot, they didn't really do much, which is why I said pre-2003. I'm basically giving them the benefit of the doubt for that whole decade where I wasn't paying attention. xD

Haha that's awesome. I was never too into video games, although I played through the first three Spyro games for PS1 and my whole family would sometimes play Tekken or Soul Calibur together. I'm only twenty, so I'm not really old enough to reminisce about retro video game systems. xD

I was excited looking through the first few posts here, was head to look up a few of the artists mentioned...
Then I saw Kenome-Chan say things about MCR and now I'm just sad.

I am MCRying.

Lame joke was lame. ._.

Abney Park and Voltaire are good!
Abney Park is steampunk themed...somewhat like pirates.
Voltaire is just a great singer. He sings various genres...I forgot what though.
Fave song of Abney Park is : My Life
Fave song of Voltaire is : Almost Human

She made her own genre.. "victoriandustrial" (even though she's not *really* industrial, imo >.> )

~~~
I am into Metal Mother at the moment, similar to Grimes. Sort of strange electronic.
and of course, Poets of the Fall always need more recognition. ;P
Ooh, these guys sound neat. Thanks for sharing! If you like gritty folksy stuff, try that other band I posted, Murder by Death. They're a little more folk-inspired than straight up folk, but you might still dig them. This song of theirs might be more suited to you: On the Dark Streets Below
Haha,
Well that makes since.
I knew what they were doing but never really wanted their CDs.
Lol
And hey I'm only 22.
I grew up playing video games because my parents let me.
(I played mostly Zelda actually. Lol)
@Kenome: Lol the way I was raised I could have totally become a video game junkie. Both my older siblings played games all the time, and my mom really had no expectations for any of us. But I guess we didn't get a console until I was like eight. So maybe if I'd been playing longer...
Still great loving for the band Electric Six.
Not many people have heard of them, but I love them so much. Musically they're all over with elements from disco, funk, metal, rock, rap, punk, electronica, and a tad folky on some of their songs. Oh and they don't take them selves too seriously, I mean they have a song about getting free samples in the mail.
I love that band :) I usually describe them as a mixture of metal, psychedelic, and Gothic.
I also like some odd European bands, I'll make a list and add brief descriptions.
-Autobuss Debesis: Latvian band, more of a soft type of band, Google refers to them as pop rock.
Eisblume- A German band that I was just introduced to. Google also calls them pop rock.
IRA- A Polish hard rock group formed in the late 80's.
Also I enjoy this one album called N Comme Never Again by DANI (French). It has Jean-Jacques Burnel (from the Stranglers) on bass for it.
The Stranglers is another one that comes to mind. A punk rock band for the same era as the Clash and Sex Pistols but significantly less popular.
