I always see "that awkward moment when..." followed by something that isn't even awkward.
For example: "That awkward moment when you fall off the side of your bed."
That's not awkward; that's just silly.
To me, awkward is like your crush catching you staring at them.

To me awkward is telling everyone a certain turtle is a Box Turtle only to have a 7 year old point out that it's a Mud Turtle.

I think everyone has their own idea of what defines an "awkward moment"
In communal living, like college, falling off your bed say during a study session or an impromptu party can be awkward. But I agree, it's not as awkward as accidentally walking in on your roommate rubbing lotion all over her body.

I kind of agree. The true meaning of many words today have been lost, though. :( It's sad, but true.

That awkward moment when you're drinking out of the water fountain only for the damn thing to squirt water all over your pants so you end up walking around in public looking like you peed your pants....
That happened to me today. THAT was an awkward moment.
It also now sounds funny since that moment is over with.

That is awkward.
I remember standing over the water fountain, but like, my bottom half was away from it, to avoid this problem.

Awkward is saying hi to someone you think you know, but actually don't and then you're kind of like...well crap...
Awkward is trying to be cool and then accidentally doing something dumb immediately afterwards.
Awkward is tripping over nothing in front of a crowd of people.
Awkward is telling a stranger about how your day is going because you're too awkward to have friends xD
