Even in infancy...?! How so?
But it could be a kind thing to do. At least the thread won't be out there facing all difficulties.

I don't know! I think I'm back at keeping conversation alive. That sounds right because it's true IRL.

We use Fahrenheit, so it has to be under 32 degrees for snow, not 0. Below zero is very, very cold, but it has been reached this winter.

They say OUR system is advanced? Who says that? I've been told we only use it because we don't want to switch from the old system we've gone by for centuries. I learned that the metric system is the advanced one. It's much more neat and organized.

Neat and organize meaning, it is EASIER to manipulate. Thus, require less skill.
Complex and untidy numbers meaning, DIFFICULT to manipulate. Thus require MOOOOAAAR skill.
Which is why it is more advance. ;)

Oh, I see. So the U.S. system is like the person with a messy room who knows their stuff is organized in THEIR order.

Yes, yes, you are completely right.
The most annoying thing in my place is. We use metric for most official business, education and many things.
BUT when come to construction. Certain carpenter and designer and property real estate agent, still use the advance system.
I think it will take a few more years to completely wash out the imperial system from our system.

I am not sure why they HAVE to use imperial system.
I learn my architecture in metric.

That's what I want to know. Maybe it's something with how they get what they sell, or whom they sell it to?

I think the imperial system, nice rounded number is the good size for various thickness of wood use for furnitures and stuff.
I think...

Oh, so you don't sell things in nice metric numbers in areas that use the metric system? I know we'll have things that are nice numbers in the U.S. system, but it'll also have the metric measurement on it, and it'll be something with decimals or fractions.

They just round it up, for imperial system. Like 8 feet when it could be just 7 feet 3 inches...
But they never round up the metric system. 4.332m
