Well, movies use it to attack demons.
But its also used to cleanse the body of evil spirits and sin and to perform baptisms.

My church doesn't really use 'holy water'. We use water for baptisms but we prefer that the Lord bless us instead of the water

We don't dunk small children, we baptise people if they want to be from 8 years old and onward.
We believe that before 8 a child doesn't need to be baptised to get to heaven cause they're innocent in the eyes of God.

And we tell people to hold their breath when they'er baptised but we don't hold them under like, its in an and out kinda thing.
