hmmm it's funny. I never really cared about what others thought, most of my peers growing moved from games to auto mechanics and carpentry all the while I had legos and imagination. and pokemon. and more games, basically I never got boredand always made sure I had something to do. ... 20 years and still building with legos with my wife now

This settles it, when the Menewsha brand adult playgrounds start opening, there will be swings, climbing frames, monkey bars and trampolines!

Darn... That would have been fun. Finding some way to make it so that we can earn gold with it too... *is wistful*

oh geez... there's just so much i still do that's kiddie.

i still eat poorly (though getting better about it) a friend of mine once gave instructions on what i like for breakfast and how to make it. "basically anything your typical 5 year old would like (i.e. sugary cereals, pancakes, scrambled eggs, etc.)"

i love disney films and comic books. :3 it's like i only got bigger so that i can earn money to just fund my childish habits. xD

You get it :)

I really think it would be fun.

I think that the people that stick to doing 'childish things' are less stressed out. I think that it's because they've found something in there lives that brings them a sort of pleasure that keeps them happy enough that bad things don't 'get to them'. But that's my oppinion.

I entirely agree. People who get all stuffy and disapproving have little joy and lots of bleh in their lives.

That's something that happens more often than not.

Other things that I enjoy that I'm 'too old for' are: Candy land and other games. Video games. cartoon movies.

I'm currently watching Pokemon with the kids. I got them the Indego league for Christmas. Only, I actually bought it for me. The kids are just a cover to keep doing the things I loved doing as kids but am now seen as "too old" for.

I agree, Phoenix. When I spend more time doing "kid" stuff I am so much happier and less depressed.

like when I go to the park and play on the swings or put thirty keychains on my purse? Hm...but I am still young...ish. I still have my stuffed animals on my bed and toy horses on my bookshelf. I like my pillows and blankets to have cute fun things printed on them. Actually, I haven't grown up much at all....

Ok guys. Is there actually any reason why we need to grow up?

I'm not talking about learning to be an adult, but is there any actual reason for needing to leave the things we loved as a kid behind? Not in my eyes there isn't!

Sure as a grown-up you gain access to a whole bunch of other cool stuff that you couldn't have/do as a kid. Is this why a lot of people forget about those childhood things? Newer and bigger shiny pushes those old joys into the back of the mental closet where they sit gathering dust? So when you find them again you're too self-conscious to let others see that you still enjoy them because someone somewhere said you're meant to grow out of these things...

Oh yeah, let's not forget, being a grown-up is about stress and money worries and not getting enough sleep; it's not about having some joy in your life!

Hell no, F that!

Jelly is so right. I think it should be okay to be young your entire life, but people will always look at your outward joys as being a sign of immaturity and lack of seriousness. Not the kind of person you want to hire for a job. But what does liking Hello Kitty and MLP have to do with your intelligence anyway?

It just shows you don't have a stick up your arse.

Also, you're not one of these people who live their life being constantly bothered about the judgement of others.

Who gives a shit if your next door neighbour is going to think you're childish if you put a swing in your back garden for yourself! Deep down, they're going to wish they could swing on it themselves and be jealous of you.

You can bet that even if you invites this (admittedly hypothetical) neighbour over to try out your new swing they'd be all, "oh no, that's a childrens thing", then go back into their own home and be pissed at themselves because they really wanted to have a go on it. And because of that they'd be even more disapproving when talking about it with other people...

Jesus Christ, HUMANS! WTF is the matter with us...

My brother and I are moving in together because it's easier for bills and what not and he's just as 'childish' as I am. He still reads kids books, plays video games, and watches cartoons every Saturday morning.

oooh, we should read Dr. Seus!
I don't think even non-childish people usually consider video games childish.

haha. it's much funner and less restrictive not to grow up.

I loved Dr. Suess. I was always getting those books out of the library at primary school, not had a chance to read them since though. :(
