If you're curious what your personality type is, there are a number of free online tests you can take, like Similar Minds and 16personalities. I took tests from other websites too, feel free to google them on your own.
EDIT: fireprincess provided another personality test link below along with another link for personality type descriptions:

My result is INTJ. I got INTJ in every tests I've taken so far in relation to this, so there's a bigger percentage that I really am an INTJ. I used to be an INFJ years ago but probably due to my events in life, I became in INTJ. I've read that some people do get new results as time passes and some get different results, which is why it's also said that these tests shouldn't be relied on when it comes to describing your personality. For me, it's been the same results so far.
I have to say though, that I don't agree on each and every description of the INTJ. I agree on the majority but there are a few points where I am different. I'm not surprised since we all are unique in our own way. The INTJ description in the 16personalities website is what I ended up really agreeing on.
Also as proof, I've provided the following screen captures of my results from both of the websites I've mentioned above. I decided to take the tests again for this:
The ones that are in red squares are what I don't personally agree in:
unhappy - I was manic depressive before but not anymore. This is a good change! :)
does not think they are weird but others do - I'm not sure about what others think but I do tend to think I'm weird. lol
can be sensitive or ambivalent to the misfortunes of others - I don't think I'm like this either, at least I hope not. I do care about others, especially friends. I've just been called a robot/apathetic/passive because I don't always show emotions that much in real life but I swear I'm human.
NOTE: I am not an expert in all the personalities, I would love to start reading and learning about them when I have the time. I just took the tests because I was curious what my results were and if they were the same in all online tests.
What personality type or types did you get?
Do you agree with their definitions?
If you know more about these types than I do, feel free to share your knowledge! I would love to know more about this.

Interesting! :D
I especially like this part:
Quote:
ISFP personalities are generally seen as the most spontaneous and unpredictable of all Introverted (I) types.
|
We would probably be in chaos if we'd work together for a project PiM!, if it's true that you "don't like to follow a structured process" that's according to the description. xD I am very nit picky when it comes to details and the process of a plan or activity. lol

I'm an ISFP.
I've taken this test a few times, my mom arranged for me to have the whole "official diagnosis" when I was maybe in middle school as some tool to help me figure out my life or something. Too bad my personality type doesn't look far into the future, is unsatisfied with personal achievement and doesn't like doing the same thing too long lol, not qualities you want if you're a wanna be a career woman.
Oh the struggles of being an artist, yet hating my own art.

For at least the past two years I've been an ISTJ.
Taking the Similar Minds test you linked to though, it says I'm an ESFJ.
It's interesting how similar and different they are.
They both fall under Sentinal:
Quote:
Sentinels (ISTJs, ISFJs, ESTJs and ESFJs):
Observant and Judging types - they are highly practical, meticulous and traditional, embracing and creating order, security and stability wherever they go.
|
I do think I'm more I than E, but T or F is largely situational; so I can understand that being different.
Caught off guard at first, but it's not as surprising since I adjust my personality depending upon different factors.

Both tests shows I'm ENTP
I didn't even know there were so many personality types
I don't agree with some of the things though
Quote:
risk taker, easy going, outgoing, social, open, rule breaker, thrill seeker, life of the party, comfortable in unfamiliar situations, appreciates strangeness, disorganized, adventurous, talented at presentation, aggressive, attention seeking, experience junky, insensitive, adaptable, not easily offended, messy, carefree, dangerous, fearless, careless, emotionally stable, spontaneous, improviser, always joking, player, wild and crazy, dominant, acts without thinking, not into organized religion, pro-weed legalization [Eh I don't even know what the last one means

I voted INTJ on the poll because that was the answer I got frequently on other tests, but after reading a bit more and getting INFJ on the 16 Personalities test and reading about that one as well I have agreed that I am actually an INFJ.
Quote:
creative, smart, focus on fantasy more than reality, attracted to sad things, fears doing the wrong thing, observer, avoidant, fears drawing attention to self, anxious, cautious, somewhat easily frightened, easily offended, private, easily hurt, socially uncomfortable, emotionally moody, does not like to be looked at, fearful, perfectionist, can sabotage self, can be wounded at the core, values solitude, guarded, does not like crowds, organized, second guesses self, more likely to support marijuana legalization, focuses on peoples hidden motives, prone to crying, not competitive, prone to feelings of loneliness, not spontaneous, prone to sadness, longs for a stabilizing relationship, fears rejection in relationships, frequently worried, can feel victimized, prone to intimidation, lower energy, strict with self
|
I would agree with most of those statements. I have gotten more optimistic recently, though, and I have Asperger's and anxiety to support that type and description. I am not particularly attracted to sad things for obvious reasons and I really do enjoy being complimented and helping others, though. However, I got ISFJ on the Similar Minds test, and I could be that. Interesting.

@Nugget - Are there any obvious differences between the clinical tests compared to the free online tests? I've been wondering about that.
@Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa - Sentinels? I haven't noticed that part of the (16 Personalities) website until you quoted it. xD
My change of results, from INFJ to INTJ, is quite a big change compared to yours. I find it more acceptable (or easier to understand?) since yours belong in the same group. Mine, however, is not, which did surprise me when I got the INTJ result.
@Lexadis - I am actually pro-weed legalization From everything you've told me about you and from what I have observed so far, I a hundred percent agree that you're a risk taker, easy going, outgoing, and fearless.
@Soki Rachiki - Whoa, it's like we've traded places! I'm INFJ turned INTJ. I was attracted to sad things before because I was manic depressive but not anymore. Maybe your iNtuition and Sensing trait is almost equal, which is why you got ISFJ from the other test? I remember my Thinking and Feeling was almost 50/50 back when I was INFJ. Now, it's clear that my Thinking finally was able to beat my Feeling. xD

@Lexadis, pro-weed legalization would describe people who support legalization of marijuana (a drug whose street name is "weed,") for recreational consumption in the USA or other places where it is not currently legal. It has been legal in some areas as a medicinal herb, but is only beginning to - in some States - be legalized for ordinary people to smoke or consume for enjoyment. It has been a controversial (and annoying) topic for a very long time, so many people hold a strong pro- or anti- stance on the subject.
Anyway, back on topic! ~
INFP fits me so very closely:
•perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy. (yes to all three!)
•Really affectionate... toward a few selected people
•Clear sense of honor (yes - honesty, loyalty, and justice are absolutely paramount to me..!)
•Often feel misunderstood and.. rare.
•Idealism - they are proud of it.
•Seek harmony in their lives and environment, often feeling dejected because of all the bad things happening in the world and trying hard to create something positive.
•Gifted with creating and interpreting symbols.
•Logic is not always necessary. (yep, my "logic" makes others' heads spin.)
•Can easily switch between the “active” and “hermit” states. Their partner may then need to spend quite a lot of effort to energize and “awaken” the INFP. (Omigosh sooo true! I feel bad about how hard it is to get me to "wake up" mentally each day. So thankful that those around me never give up. ^^; )
•Extremely creative, innovative, and goal-oriented. (Goal oriented, no, not at all. Not even a hint of it. See below.)
•Notices even the slightest hint of good in other people. (Often gets me taken advantage of. It's a 'con', more often than a 'pro.' Does, however, lead me to believe I can befriend just about anybody if I care to, and thus I rarely feel threatened by the presence of strangers.)
Reading about ISFP led me to think that's my closest second.
ISFP traits that match me:
•Love exploring and embracing new things, experimenting, new ideas,
•Independent and fiercely resist all forms of control (and authority figures / social structures, much to my own dismay..)
•Live completely in the present, refusing to dwell on the past or prepare extensive plans for the future.
•..tend to be very charming, mostly because they find it really easy to pick the best compliment for a particular person [and so can] easily disarm those around them.
My main disparity is that although I often -feel- a disregard for the rules, authority, and general responsibilities, my main personality type overrides it so I loyally conform.. until the authority figure takes a stab at the little guy. Then ensues a whirlwind of emotions, courage, justice, and pink slips. -_-
It is also true for me that it's like moving a pile of rocks to do anything that's out of the present moment (like committing to plans for the weekend, getting a roll of film developed, or even setting an alarm clock for the next morning.)

Yeeeah, the names they give them are kind of funny.
I think our changes are similar though. Even though I'm still in the same group, I changed two categories instead of just one. And especially to go from Introverted to the kind of Extroverted it talked about (host, seller, etc...), that alone is a huge difference to me.
I haven't ever read them all though; so I wonder if I would agree with ISTJ still if I did. P:
I already know there's parts of ISTJ I don't agree with. Mostly the occupations.

It was Meyers-Briggs, the biggest difference I remember is that there were many, many more questions and it took me a couple hours to complete. Basically just looking at the ways you respond to essentially the same question. It wasn't exactly a clinical test, I took it at the vocational rehabilitation office (my mom works there, it's a government program in place for the mentally/physically disabled to help them start a career path and college and such [she's had me do a lot of different personality/career tests there]) but it was definitely much more of an official test.

I'm a bit weird. I either get INFP or INFJ. It depends completely on my mood that day and the questions I'm asked, and the percentage for that last letter is never very strong. When I contrast the attributes of P and J, half of each sounds very right while the other half sounds very incorrect. So I refer to myself as INFx.

So far, there are a lot of you who are INFP. I'm just curious, to all of you INFPs are you all really prone to lateness and pessimism or are these two one of the traits you don't agree?
I wish the trait "likes the rain" was included in my personality type (INTJ).
@Nugget - I'd love to take that type of test. Hopefully, I'll be able to find something like that here where I live.
@LONGCAT - I don't agree with those lists of favored and disfavored careers. I think no matter what personality type you are, it still depends on what job or career you personally like.
@Cherry Who? - INFx, that's a good idea! I'd be INxJ.
