Twelve year old Seiyo Academy student Kasumi Ito was in the middle of her morning routine.The new Scandal music video was playing softly from her phone as she hummed along shorting out the student council paper work. The lush tea garden that was the meeting place for the Guardians was normally quiet this time of morning- a half hour before classes were to start- and was the prefect time to work. On the table in front of her Laa- her guardian character- was playing the air guitar singing along. Smiling softly at her spirit the blonde finished her last stack of papers. Information on a new transfer student that would be joining Masura's class.

Their King would have to be put in charge of showing her around. Though she took her role as a guardian very seriously- protecting the dreams and inner hopes of her class mates was the highest priority- Kasumi took her role as a student council member seriously as well.

As the chours came around again Laa jumped onto the stack of finished paper work holding out her tiny microphone to her. Leaning in with a smile far bigger then she normally wore around school Kasumi belted out the next few words. Bobbying her head along with Haruna Ono on the screen.

From the branches of one of the sturdier trees Habiki Ito- Jack chair and cousin to Kasumi- tried to hold in his laughter. Not that Kasumi couldn't sing it was just always highly amusing to see his normally straight laced cousin let out her rocker side.
Just outside the glass doors to the garden he could hear the group of girls," I think I saw him go this way..." As the voices faded the brown haired boy let out a relived sigh. The girls in his class sure were scary when they all ganged up together in defense of their idol.
" You pissed off the girls again didn't you." Hi-ro commented smirk firmly in place as he hovered by the boys head.

The girls and Hi-ro alerted Kasumi that her and Laa were not alone. While this didn't bother the chibi pop star dancing around the table and belting into her mic her blond counter part sat up straighter and glared into the foliage. "You might as well come out Habiki I know you are there"

Grimacing at the voice he had dubbed her 'Queenie' voice he shot a look towards his superhero counterpart and made his way towards the section of tea tables. Already knowing he was in for a lecture.


Across campus Masura had already been stopped by his homeroom teacher and asked to meet the new girl at the front office. They didn't get many new students but as head of the student council he wasn't at all surprised that he was asked, besides she would in his class so it made more sense then asking any of the others.

(( You will meet Masura's guardian later. I also figured that the reason why each guardian is the way they are would come out later as well. If you would like me to explain I can.))

Yukina Snow, a twelve year old girl who just moved into town. She was terrified of people to the point of running away if she got the chance. Her tactic only failed if she was cornered. One her first night in her new home, some magic ladt came on t.v. and talked about your "inner-self", is was probably a repeat of something from years ago or something... Nevertheless, when the girl got to her room she went outside and silently prayed to be brave, friendly, and talented- because she felt that she was nothing but a useless spec.

When she awoke that morning, found three eggs under her blankets. She screamed and panic until she look at the clock and realized that she would be late for her first day of school if she didn't hurry. So she ran around the house to gather her things and then got dressed and left the house. Taking the eggs with her of course, they were simply hidden in her side-bag.

Maya - the ace chair - quickly noticed the new girl and Tabi soon noticed the three eggs that the girl was hiding. Tabi quickly flew off to find her friends to tell them of the news. Maya however, casually joined the other guardians in the garden.

Yukina was told by her parents to make sure that she stopped by the front office, so that's where she headed. Avoiding the other students and making it the office as quickly as she could. It didn't take her long, but someone was already there... She panicked and began to act as if she was going to run.

" Miss Yukina Snow?" Taking a step toward the girl- who if he wasn't mistaken looked as if she was about to pull a runner- Masura bowed smiling at the new transfer student. " I am Masura Himura the head of our student council. It is a pleasure to meet you." He could only imagine how nervous she must be. Transferring into a new school half way through the semester. "If you like I'll be showing you around for the next week."


" You have to set and example Habiki. You hold a guardian chair you hare held to a higher standard. you are a year older I expect you to know this already." Kasumi had her disappointed face on. While Habiki tried to look sorry but really he had grown up hearing one version of that lecture or another.

One the table Laa had taken control of Kasumi's phone and was singing along to another music video while Hi-ro tried not to giggle at Habiki's face.

Turning when the door to the garden open- and taking it as an opportunity to get away- the light brown haired boy jumped up. Either the girls in his class had found him and he was sure Kasumi would throw him to the wolves or..." Maya!"

"Kasumi! Big news!" Tabi called when her beloved queen came into view. The small neko flew over to her and rested on her shoulder. "Yukina Snow has three eggs in her bag! It's like having another Amu Hinamori~" Tabi informed her, her black sleek tail twitching with joy. "Maya and myself saw her when she headed into the school." She chirped, not too loudly though. She didn't want to give the queen a headache.

Yukina stared at the boy, but didn't move a muscle. She blinked a few times when he bowed and she averted her eyes. "I.. I see..." She spoke in a soft voice. By his uniform she guessed that he also had a seat with the guardians of the school. Which role did he play though...? She wondered silently. She smiled kindly. "I would appreciate that a lot." She said quietly as she nervously fiddled with the strap on her bag.

Maya jumped when she suddenly heard her name and she curiously looked around for the source. She smiled at Hibiki and walked over to him. "Hey there, Mr. Jack~" She teased him harmlessly. "Running from the girls again?" She asked him, still smiling. Maya had a secret- she had a crush on the jack. Ever since she joined the school guardians. Hibiki was already there by the time she herself joined.

He would be missing the guardians early morning meeting but he was sure that Kasumi would be able to handle it. However there had been so odd things happening around the school the last week. Mostly people not acting like themselves at all and he had wanted to talk about it with the others. Keeping his smile in place Masura pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind. HE would bring it up at the lunch meeting. "We have the same class which is why I was asked instead of one of the girl members." Yukino seemed a little nervous and he hoped it wasn't something he did. Taking a step back to give her more room he gestured towards the door. " follow me and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. I'm sure you will like it here a Seiyo.


Sighing at the short attention spanned of her cousin Kasumi was taken off guard by Tabi. Smiling despite the shock he ran one finger along the little neko's head. " What?" Nothing about the girls transcript indicated that she would be a guardian let alone the Joker. Of course they only had one other Joker to really go by.
"Were they just eggs, no Guardian Characters around?" If they hadn't hatched yet then the girl might have no clue what they really were. Which meant she would have to get Masura to bring Yukina to the garden.

" More like escaping Queen Kasumi and the rant of disappointment." Habiki loved to tease his cousin though all of his friends knew he cared for her. Really he cared for all of his friends but the three other guardians held special places for him. The more he cared about you the more he let lose and teased.
Musing up Maya's hair he threw an arm around the shorter girl shoulders leading her towards the white table Kasumi was standing next too, " It wasn't even my fault Ace. Swear! I just don't understand you girls and these pop idols."

Yukina watched the boy curiously. She couldn't help but offer a small smile. She knew that her shyness didn't just effect herself... But often those around her, like making them think it was something they did. That was not usually the case. "It... It's alright..." She said softly. When he gestured towards the door, she walked out of the room and waited for him. "Are you... A guardian?" She asked him as she began to nervously tap her to two index fingers together.

The little neko let loose a happy "mew" as the queen ran a finger along her head. Tabi shook her head and hovered in front of Kasumi, her tail sinking slightly. "No, not yet." She answered. Her ears perked a little. "Are we gonna invite her to the garden?" She asked, her tail perking back up.

"I see..." She answered casually. Maya giggled when Hibiki messed up her hair and allowed the boy to lead her towards the table. She curiously glanced up at him and chuckled a little. "Yeah sure, that's what you always say." She teased him once more, giggling afterwards.

"It really wasn't! All I said was the guy in the magazine wasn't that hot and I didn't get why they were all going crazy. Then they attacked me! " As Habiki relayed his tale of fleeing from the girl of his class Hi-ro and Laa had taken notice to Tabi flying in. Leaving the phone on the table tot he two other guardian characters floated up to see what Kasumi and their neko friend were talking about. For a brief moment Hi-ro wondered where Khya and Masura were.

" Invite who to the garden?" Laa asked floating up with her hand on her hips and her head cocked to the side. " Maya and Tabi saw the new transfer student with three character eggs. Our Joker seat is going to be fulled." Though she smiled Kasumi was a little worried on what it meant that the Joker showed up now. When Amu joined the guardians years ago there had been a influx of x-eggs and the whole thing with the embryo. So far their rein \- for lack of better word- had been fairly quiet.

Masura paused at the question eyes darting around for a second to look for this girls Guardian Character until he realized what she was referring too. Wlaking along beside her, " Oh I hold the King chair. So don't hesitate to let me know if you have any problems."


There were many great traits that Khya shared with Masura. His sense of direction was not one of them. It had taken him far longer then he would have liked to admit to find the large glass doors leading to the guardian's meeting garden. He had been given a mission to inform the Queen that King Masura would be late.

Maya giggled a little and skipped away from Habiki. "That's a girl for ya~" She hummed before claiming her seat at the white table. She glanced at Hir-o and gently pat him on the head. "Don't worry, he's probably with the new girl." She said with a kind smile. "I doubt she knows where anything is at this school." She said to him, still smiling. She blinked a few times and looked at Kasumi. "Well I didn't really see them... I couldn't get close enough." She said with a small sweat drop above her head. "I did though~" Tabi chimed. "Three unhatched eggs, she's hiding them in her bag." She said.

Yukina looked over at him with a surprised expression. "K-king? Are... Are you sure it's okay if you show me around...? I don't want to interfere with your duties..." She said quietly, still tapping her index figures together as they walked down the hall way.

" It's no problem at all. Promise." Kasumi was the only one who really felt the need for the morning meetings and he was sure that Yukina would be taken in by the girls in his class with out any trouble. He could leave her in their care for the lunch meeting."We don't get many transfer students so we wanted to make sure you felt welcome." Masura was glade she seemed to be loosening up a little. He couldn't have imagined sending Habiki to greet the girl. " besides better me then our Jack chair."

In the garden room Habiki dropped into his designated seat with a tickle in the back of his nose like an oncoming sneeze. "So we got a Joker now. Cool." Looking up at the floating little cat girl, "What did the new girl look like?" Maya had been the last chair filled and he had been the first. Sort of. He had been the youngest member of the last council but they had all went off to different high schools.

Laa moved to rest ontop of Kasumi's heads, laying down and tapping her foot to a tune inside her head as she listened to the others. Barely sparing a second thought to what her Guardian Character just did the blond looked back down at Yukina snow's file. Her appearance was still bugging her. That and last night Masura had text and said there was something they all needed to talk about.

Yukina continued to walk with Masura, silently wondering where her class was. She tilted her head a little and glanced at him. "Who's your Jack chair?" She asked curiously.

Maya giggled. "Someone's talkin' about you Habiki~" She teased harmlessly when he gave a brief face of wanting to sneeze. Tabi looked down at the jack and flew over to him. "She's really cute! ..or at least I think so~" She hummed happily. "She's got long brown hair and light blue eyes. Her figure is small but not much smaller that Maya's figure." Tabi said to him before deciding to hover down to the table and stood on the flat surface.

Maya glanced at the queen. She could tell that Kasumi was worried about something, but didn't dare ask what was bothering her. She figured she'd just wait for Masura.

" So she's cute." Hi-ro rolled his eyes at Habiki before sitting cross legged in front of Maya. Habiki was his best friend-he was born from his heart after all- but the boy was an idiot. Habiki had actually leaned over a little and was reading her file off of the stack that Kasumi had sitting in front of her. " I would say something about her being really average for a guardian but it's not like their are telling signs for any of us before we got our eggs."

Sometimes she was surprised by what came out of her cousins mouth. Most of the time Kasumi lived in the world where her older cousin was an idiot who didn't think before talking and lived in a world of his own. Then she was reminded of Hi-ro and remembered that Habiki was actually a very brave and observant person. He just chose not to show it.

With a strong heave the little elf king shoved open the single glass door. It look like the others were already gathered. " I apologies for my rude lateness." While still floating he bowed at the waist to the Guardian. He as nothing if not formal. " King Masura was held up escorting the transfer student. He sends his regards."



Rubbing the back of his head Maura thought about how to describe his friend. " Habiki comes off really strong at first. He had a big personality that can be a bit much till you get to know him. Once you do though he is loyal and hides how smart he really is." Laughing a little he thought about how opposite he was to his cousin. Like the rest of the school Masura had thought that Kasumi Ito was like one of those school idols in a manga. " I'm sure you will meet him soon though.So you will be able to see for yourself."

"This is it." Pulling open the door he moved so that she could enter first. 3A wasn't a big class, four girls and six boys made up the total number of student...well not five girls.

Maya watched Hi-ro for a moment before sighing and leaning back in her chair. Tabi flew up to her head and curled up in her hair. Maya blinked a few times when Habiki spoke his thoughts about the transfer student. She was a tad-bit jealous, but she didn't let an ounce of it show. Maya slowly got up from the table and began to water some of the plants in the garden that looked like they needed it. It helped sooth her.

Tabi sat up curiously when she felt Mata moved and watch her water the plants. Then Khya flew in and she almost immediately flew over to him. "Maya was right~ he was with Yukina!" She chimed happily. "Did she see you?" She asked curiously.

Yukina rubbed the back of her head nervously. "I see..." She said quietly. "He sounds... Nice..." She added, nervously tapping her index fingers together once again. Yukina blinked a few times when the king chair mentioned "meeting him soon" but didn't ask. She just shook it off as they arrived at her classroom. Yukina looked at him and smiled. "Thanks again for walking me..." She said to him, her cheeks tinted by a light pink. She then walked inside the classroom and claimed her seat in the back row.

" Masura!" One of the boys called out waving what looked like an unfinished homework sheet cut off anything he was going to say. Smile over as one of the girls from class made her way over to Yukina. " Masura help.please." Haru dragged out the please trying to throw in puppy dog eyes. Really the boy needed to learn to do his classical Japanese homework at home.

Turning to fully face his fellow Guardian Character Khya shook his head. " I was sent here before she had arrived." Thinking for a moment he looked around at the others in the room. " I was unaware that those with out Guardian Characters of their own could see us?"

" They can't" Laa sang out from on top of Kasumi's head.

The shrill of the first warning bell cut through their conversation.

Gathering up the papers she had worked on and placing them in their proper folder the blonde smiled at the others. " Okay well that's all we can really do with out Masura and Yukina." Even with the guardian meetings she had yet to be late for a class.

Tabi frowned a little but soon went back to be her happy self. She flew back over to Maya and tugged at a lock of her hair when the bell rang. "Maya~ you're going to be late again if you don't move it!" She yelled. "Hm?" Maya asked, before setting aside the pail and gathering her books. "I'll see you guys later~" Maya chimed to the others as she hurried out of the garden and to her class.

Yukina took a few things out of her bag that she would need for this class, then gently set the bag under her desk. She glanced over at the girl who was walking towards her, wearing a nervous smile. 'I don't want to be afraid of my schoolmates...' She thought to herself. 'I want to get along with everyone..and make lots of friends...' She thought to herself as she watched the approaching girl One of the eggs responded, and twitched ever so slightly before beginning to crack. ~Then don't be afraid... Be welcoming!~ A small voice responded.

Yukina blinked a few times and found herself smiling kindly at the approaching girl. "Ah, hello." Yuki greeted. She didn't feel like she was herself though... Yukina was very confused.

Opening his backpack for Hi-ro to jump in Habiki waved towards Kasumi following Maya out. After double checking to make sure everything was put away in her bag Kasumi grabbed her phone- annoyed to find that Lee had used up half of the battery- turning it to silent and stuffing it in it's compartment. "Are you just going to sleep on my head all day?"

" yeah I think so."

Locking up the garden Kasumi headed off to room 3B.


From his seat going over classical Japanese with a group of the boys, one or two of the girls had joined in, Masura made sure to keep an eyes on Yukina. At the moment she was talking to Hina and seemed to be warming up to her just fine.

He was just finishing up explaining one of the finer points when the teacher walked in seconds before the last bell rang.

" Good Morning class. As I'm sure some of you are aware by now we have a new student joining us. Miss Snow would you please come up here and introduce yourself."

Maya had just barely made it to her class. She quickly took her place in her seat and get ready for class to begin.

Yukina blinked a few times when the teacher asked her to go to the front of the class and introduce herself, her odd change in character that seemed to just take over- wore off and she went back to being painfully shy. Yuki slowly rose from her seat and made her way to the front of her class, keeping her eyes on the floor. "M-my name is Yukina, but please call me Yuki... I hope to get along with all of you..." She said quietly, loud enough for the students to hear her. She bowed slightly and scurried back to her deck where she put her head and covered it with her arms. 'Waahh~ What was feeling that took over? ..and why did it just leave like that?!' She thought to herself.

Her last class before lunch was Home Ec. Not her best class but she studied different recipes at home and was fairly confident in her talents.It was the one class that Laa actually like paying attention to. She sang and danced around on the counter while the teacher explained a recipe and then liked to dip her little hands in the batter when they made cakes. And when no one was looking Kasumi would even dance along to the Guardian Character's song.

Ayami however was normally a genius in the class. Perfecting the recipe the teacher was showing them and helping others. She was a friendly girl if a little bashful and Kasumi generally liked her. Today something was off though. Instead of breezing through the lesson the dark haired girl cut her fingers twice, burnt the cake while some how managing to leave the inside still gooey. The Queen chair would have written this off as having a bad day. A really really bad day. It was the blank look in her eyes and the void tone to her voice. Something really didn't feel right. With the teachers back turned Kasumi sent out two quick messages.


The buzzing in his pocket snapped Habiki out of the slight daze math had put him in. Not like he didn't pay attention. If his grades dropped he couldn't be the Jack chair anymore. Kasumi's rule not anything written in stone. Still Masura backed her up so there was no helping it.

Reaching down he tried pulling his phone out of his pocket with out getting caught. It took two tries and a lot of eye rolling from the girl next to him but he finally managed it. ' I need to speak with Masura about something. Please get Yukina to the garden for lunch.'

With a sigh Habiki shut his phone and went back to taking notes for the last five minutes of class. He had been looking forward to grabbing a sweet roll before the meeting.


' I need you to come to the home ec room before lunch. Guardian business. Habiki will take care of Yukina.' Masura stared down at the screen of his phone. Everything but the last bit made sense. Normally Kasumi would have him meet up with her if something was up before they went to the others. She liked to check and make sure she wasn't making something out of nothing.

He just didn't understand why Habiki was being sent to take care of Yuki. The girls in class seemed eager enough to get to know her and lunch would be a perfect time to do so.

Yukina couldn't wait until her class was over. All she wanted to do was eat her lunch in peace. It would be the only the peace she could get today... She had a few more unwilling changes in character and just didn't understand it. She actually went to the front of the classroom..willingly! And wrote on the board in her last class to answer some math questions. What was going on?

Maya had this class with Yuki. She couldn't help but watch the new girl with curiosity stirring. Tabi wasn't afraid to hover over to the girl and sat on her desk to watch her work. Maya didn't really take notes or anything of the sort, didn't need to. She was a passing student without the help of notes. Maya sank a little, but she tried not to let it bother her too much. She was a guardian after all.

When the bell finally rang, Yuki quickly gathered her things. The hatching egg however, decided it wanted to play run away and hopped right out of her bag and bounced toward the door which was wide open. Yuki dropped her things and chased after the run away egg. "C-come back here!" She called to it, ignoring the starring people around her.

Tabi blinked a few times and followed after to help Yuki catch the egg. Maya went over to the empty desk and gathered Yuki's things and also followed, after making sure the other two eggs were safely inside the bag.

As the final bell before lunch rang Habiki snatched up the strap to his bag and headed down to the underclassmen's hall. The muffled grunts of Hi-Ro coming from the bag. " Sorry little buddy I'm on a mission."

The sight of a Guardian egg rolling along the hall stopped him short. " Ah okay not something you see every day." Bending down to scoop up the run away egg Habiki nearly face planted when the little thing rolled between his legs and continued it's path down the hall. Turning around the red haired boy stared confused at the retreating egg, he had never seen one run away before.

(( I know it's short but I felt bad about not posting yet so I wanted to get something to you quick.))

Yukina came running down the hallway, appearing as if chasing after the little egg. She ran right passed the jack's chair without a second thought. All she wanted to do, was catch her that egg.

Tabi wasn't too far behind the girl, with Maya close behind the small guardian character. Maya had to stop to catch her breath, and just so happened to stop next to Habiki. "Stupid... Egg..." She muttered coldly between her raspy breaths. Maya was not a runner... And she didn't want to be a runner. Running was hard on the small girl's lungs and legs.

Reaching out to steady Maya by her shoulders Habiki glanced back at the retreating figure. "So I take it her egg made a break for it." That was definitely new. Turning back to face he friend the Jack chair noticed how winded she looked. Sliding his bag off his shoulder he tossed it at the younger girl.

" Kasumi wanted me to bring the new girl to the garden. " Giving her one of his large grins Habiki high fives the little super hero character currently sitting on his shoulder, "Looks like now we get to be heroes as well.". If there was one thing about the brown haired boy that everyone new it was his love of all things action and heroic.

Giving maya one last salute he turned around and took off after the brown haired girl. Dodging students and teachers as he went. Briefly calling back to the Ace chair, " we will meet you back at the garden room!". Already running of the feeling of saving the day...atleast in his mind.

Still trying to catch her breath, she nodded lightly to his obvious statement. Maya caught Habiki's bag, she blinked a few times and looked up at him kind of funny. Great, now she head three bags to carry. Her own, Yuki's and now Habiki's. Smiling lightly, she watched the Jack chair and his guardian character. When Habiki suddenly took off after Yukina, she used one hand to wave at him- gesturing that she understood and would see him later. Tabi sat down on the top of Maya's head. "C'mon Maya-chan~" She complained. Maya giggled lightly and started heading back towards the entrance of the school, and from there she headed to the garden.

Yukina, still chasing after her egg. When she got to the stairs, she finally caught the egg. But she had to skip several steps to get it before losing it again. Her blue eyes went wide when she realized that she was going to fall down the stairs, and she held the hatching egg close to her- desperate to keep the egg from being harmed.

Dodging around a group of upper classmen girls Habiki looked around for Yukino, Hi-Ro floating above. " Over by the stairs!" pointing the masked character guardian turned in time to see his best friend run toward that direction. There was a group of first years picking things up off the floor right in his path. Deciding that the best course of action would be a char change.

It was always kind of odd when Hi-Ro lended him some of his abilities. He felt stronger, and faster.Also the mask that appeared was super cool, even if only other guardians could see it. Leaping clear over the heads of the first years he got to Yukino just in time. Garbing the girl around the waist he hauled her back the mask fading from his face as he he and Hi-Ro separated. " Gotcha!"

Yuki blinked a few times when she felt an arm wrap her waist and was pulled back. Her blue eyes found Habiki as her feet touched the floor of the hallway. Judging by his cape, she guessed that he was a guardian of the school. "T-thanks..." She said quietly, averting her eyes and gazing at the hatched egg. A small head popped out of the egg and she looked at Yukina with wide eyes. After a moment, Noel hovered out of the egg and hovered close to Yuki. "Are you nuts?! You could've gotten really hurt!" Noel scolded.

Yuki blinked several times as she watched the little character, then looked at Habiki and took a glance at Hi-Ro. "U-um..." She stuttered nervously. Noel sighed and hovered around Yukina. "No need to be nervous." She murmured quietly.

Across the school Masura was just entering the home ex room.at first he couldn't tell why Kasumi had called him here. One of the girl in class c was siting at a table staring off at the broad, he was sure her name was Ayami, and Kasumi was sweeping up behind the kitchen area. It was the fact that Laa kept waving in front of the girls face and screaming to get her attention that threw him. Laa was always the more random of the guardian characters. She was a little pop star all right, loved attention. But she knew that those with out hatched eggs couldn't see the manifestation of the guardians inner selves.

" Kasumi, you asked for my help." Smiling at the still reactionless girl the king chair made his way over to the queen. As he passed his dark haired class mate he noticed the good look in her eyes matched others he had seen aroun school.

"Something Is wrong with Ayami." Tucking the broom back into the closet the blonde sent a look over at her classmate. She had talked to the girl a little while she waited for Masura to arrive. Though what she was told was vague she was sure that they had a problem on their hands.



Across the street from Seiyo Acadamey a girl in stood staring blankly up at the sky. She had run into the most bounty little girl that morning. Her inner light glowed and the egg in her heart was filled with the magic of her hopes and dreams. She was the four egg to be harvested that week by Sayako. Reaching for the phone in her pocket she dialed the number of her partner. Something interesting had happened while she was staking out the school for more eggs.
The device that their boss had given her this mission- a device able to read the strength of someone's inner self, and detect the presence of their egg- had gone off the charts. They had been told that the one who carried three eggs could show up. If they did the boss was positive it would be at this school.
When the boy on the other line finally picked up she smiled thought her parent, she guessed he was her friend as well, couldn't see it.

"The Jocker chair has been filled Kuro."
