Stephen Strange sighed as he finally tracked down the source of the errant magic he'd recently been sensing. It was just as he'd thought. He had been hoping he was wrong, but it seemed like he needed to have a discussion with one Tony Stark about his little problem before it got too out of hand.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) Steve caught him first.

"Doctor Strange," he said, sounding a little surprised. "I wasn't expecting to see you today. Everything alright?"

"For the moment," Strange replied with a nod. "Rest easy, Captain. I am just following up on a hunch." He glanced around briefly. "Where is Anthony?"

"In his lab, as usual," Steve said, eyebrows shooting up. It wasn't exactly a secret that Strange and Tony didn't usually get along very well.

Strange gave him another nod.

"Thank you," he said. "Please, do not let me interrupt your day. I merely need to speak with Anthony about something."

"Good luck." Steve looked rather amused, but he didn't try to stop Strange, either. Instead he headed back to the kitchen to wait for the fireworks. Jarvis would keep him appraised.

Strange headed down towards Tony's workshop. When he got there, he gave a polite knock on the glass and waited for Tony to acknowledge him.

Tony looked over at him and waved him in, setting things down for the moment. When Strange appeared, Things tended to be Happening.

That didn't mean he had to be serious, however.

"Whatever it is, I can promise you I'm not the person to deal with it. Unless you want something blown up. Then I can do that."

"Fortunately, that is not why I'm here," Strange replied as he stepped into the workshop. "I have been sensing some odd things, recently, in regards to magic, and I believe I've narrowed down the source."

Tony blinked. "Okay? Congrats? Why are you here?" There was no magic in the tower, he knew that, that was a Rule.

"Because the source of the magic I've been sensing is here," Strange replied. He looked at Tony with a steady gaze. "I believe you are the source, Anthony."

Tony was silent for several moments. "That is impossible. I don't do magic, Strange, you know that. I don't like magic. There is no way I'm doing any kind of magic."

"I will admit, it surprised me as well," Strange replied. "I know how adamant you are about the use of magic. But I am not mistaken about this. You are the source."

"You must have a wire loose in there somewhere," Tony said dismissively. "I do not use magic, period, end of story."

"You may not use it, but that does not mean it does not use you, Anthony," Strange replied as he glanced around the workshop. Now that he was inside, he could sense a faint layer of magic over nearly everything. "I am not wrong about this."

"Yes, you are," Tony said. "I told you, I don't like magic. I'm not magical."

At this point he was actually getting angry. Which is when something glass shattered behind him.

Strange didn't jump at the shattering glass. He had been expecting something like that to happen.

"That will continue to happen," he said after a moment, "as long as you lack control over your abilities."

Tony scowled at him but stopped actually protesting. It took him a minute to speak again, though.

"What are you suggesting I do?"

"I recommend instruction," Strange replied. "At least in the basics of magical control. I cannot instruct you myself, as my schedule and yours rarely seem to align, but I do have a few acquaintances I would trust with your instruction."

Tony bristled a little at the idea. He didn't like it, and he wasn't going to actually have to see these instructors, if he could help it. He'd taught himself a lot of things, he could teach himself to control this whatever-it-was now, too.

"Fine, leave the details, I'll get in contact with them later."

Strange quirked an eyebrow.

"I think I know you a little better than that, Anthony," he replied. "I will contact them, and they, in turn, will contact you. Do try to be polite to them, please."

Tony made a face at that. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered. He made no promises either way, which was to be expected, really.

Strange knew that was the best he was going to get, and nodded.

"Then I will not take up any more of your time," he said. "My acquaintances will be in touch soon, I'm sure. Please do not hesitate to contact me if the need arises before that."

Tony nodded, already shifting his focus back to his project. At least as much as he could. Part of him was still muddling over magic.

Strange took his leave after that. It seemed he had a couple of people to get in touch with, and the sooner the better, it looked like.
