June 19, 2016 - GINUWINE
Today's artist of the day is Ginuwine. I only know one of his songs, Differences https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg2OWNKAbw0&index=117, which was actually shown to me by a random stranger on the internet. Literally. Back when I was in maybe eighth grade or something, I discovered this online chatroom, no avatars or anything, just random strangers chatting with each other, and there was this guy named Brian or something who said that he loved me o_O which of course he didn't because he was a young pre-teen or something and I repeat, a complete stranger. Anyway, he showed me this song during the very short time I was on that chatroom.

June 21, 2016 - THE WHO
Today's artist of the day is The Who. The first time I ever learned about The Who was in elementary school. We had a really nice writing teacher who would sometimes bring in her guitar to play us songs while we sang. She usually just taught us songs by The Beatles, but one day, she surprised us by introducing us to another band called The Who. That day, we had fun learning and singing along with Boris The Spider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvFuUaCe8eY&index=140.
Fast forward many many years, and my significant other sent me this song called Baba O'riley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2KR...WT8nGOK211nKy_, and I realized it was also by The Who!

June 23, 2016 - OF MONSTERS AND MEN
Today's artist of the day is Of Monsters and Men. The first time I heard Of Monsters And Men's Little Talks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I&index=410 was back in college. I don't remember how I first heard of it exactly, but I was absolutely hooked on their song <3 I went with my significant other and a friend to a mall once and they played this song twice within thirty minutes, haha. Later, my significant other was sending me songs that I might like, and Of Monsters And Men's Mountain Sound https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt7o...1nKy_&index=26 came up.

Today's artist of the day is Ylvis, the band that is famously known for their song The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE&index=97. After this song was released, literally everyone around me - friends, schoolmates, co-workers - was raving about it and laughing about how hilarious it was. And meanwhile, I was clueless as to what was going on. They played snippets of the song for me, but I didn't find it funny at all. It was only when I finally looked up the full song and music video that I understood the hilarity of this song in which the singers made up funny noises and dressed in costumes and danced all funny.
And now I like it because one of the lines of their song is "Cow goes moo," and I really like cows right now.

June 8, 2016 - "Lost Boy"
I heard this beautiful song today!! It is called Lost Boy, and I actually have not even heard the original version yet. I only found out about it because Tyler Ward and Kurt Hugo Schneider (I am subscribed to the latter) did a wonderful-sounding cover of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYGHN3-NkvE. I love discovering songs that are about something other than romance. Like back when "Fireflies" by Owl City was super popular, I loved that song because it was about fireflies, of all things! And this song, "Lost Boy," is about one of The Lost Boys who are under the command of Peter Pan.

July 10, 2016 - Train
Today's artist of the day is Train. I still remember how I first hear of Train's song Hey, Soul Sister a long time ago in my high school days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVpv8-5XWOI&index=200 It was a super popular song at the time and played on the radio every day. At the time, I enjoyed listening to it, but never got into the actual singing of it, which I do for a large percentage of the songs I like, because it just did not sound good or something when I sang it. Or something along those lines. But my friend sang it very well, and I have a funny memory of when we were all on the bus, and he started serenading another one of our male friends with that song. The latter guy was so embarrassed because he hated that song or something. But he sang it very well, and I thought it was hilarious.

July 12, 2016 - I Monster
Today's artist of the day is I Monster. So I watched the most recent episode of Mr. Robot, which was Season 2 Episode 1, and one of the songs on their soundtrack that was playing in the background caught my attention. I tried my best to find it and was happy to discover that it was called "Daydream in Blue" by I Monster. I found two versions of it, one with a female voice part https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RV0kUChjG8&index=2 and one with just the male part https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOm1_lEAOew&index=1. I love this song! I think I prefer the one with the female part a little more than the one without because it just sounds more interesting. And I would like to learn to sing it, so it helps if there is a female voice to imitate or get inspired by.
