I always love being able to make dream avatars and getting an idea of how much it would cost, etc. Plus there is the added benefit as a good way for artist\writer\etc to character design.

Other sites lost theirs, and now the user base is very upset, so it would be a good selling point for the site!

Thats unfair. Not everyone is able to donate. Why should a few be "punished" for their inability to fund a website by not being able to use a feature that SHOULD be free?
