I agree! :(
I think some people think, "Oh, it doesn't make a difference if I use green products or not..." But they don't realize that there are 7 billion people on earth! And if all 7 billion people on earth dumped their garbage in the ocean, it would make a HUGE difference!
My dad doesn't believe in "global warming" and doesn't believe that there's anything we can do to prevent climate change... (Yes. A contradiction. =.=)
I'm glad that I was able to win my mom over to using natural and earth-friendly products! Thankfully because of me and her, our home is a lot more earth-friendly.

That's so great that you got your Mom on board though. It's a huge step. I mean when you take one person out of the equation and then that person is probably going to eventually talk about things with their friends and then that's how it spreads. Your mom brings something up to a friend, a friend tries out the new thing and realizes that they can also do this so then they tell one of their friends so on and so forth. <3 Big change happens with a tiny ripple.
Some people have their heads stuck pretty far in the sand. I was reading something that said there was research done and internet may be knocked out of places like New York, Miami and one moire... Seattle I think, because of the city locations, the internet cables and stuff will be under water and this will affect all those people. Will they care then?
And the sand dunes and stuff in NC, they were natural but hurricanes have been steadily washing them away. Same with the beach in Miami. After every hurricane they have to BRING IN SAND and build the beach back up because it has just been washed away. Last year they said if there is one more big hurricane they won't have anywhere to get sand from and they won't be able to repair the beach anymore. It will just be gone, and under water. Then the houses go next... and yet.. those who don't live on the beach just shrug and say meh, doesn't affect me. It's not real.
Makes me want to pull my hair out in all honesty hahaha

Yes! I agree, Zephi. :)
My mom and I recently stopped using plastic cups and straws, so when we go to the local juice bar, we bring our 24oz mason jars and have them fill it up. :D
I think we're taking good steps to help prevent pollution.
My dad recently started using his own reusable cup.
It's awesome! :D
Not only do I feel healthier when I use reusable things, but I feel even better knowing that I am helping prevent further damage to the earth.

That's great that the juice bar let you bring your own 24 oz mason jars. A lot of places won't let you bring your own cup to be filled up because they're afraid that it might be dirty and you'll get sick and they'll be liable. I used to go to a restaurant in Texas where they had this huge 64 oz cup that you could get refilled with sweet tea. I still have that mug today

Yeah, I didn't think about that before, hummy.
I'm glad they let me bring my own jar. I know in Minnesota, there were places that would take a percentage of the total cost off if you brought your own reusable cup. :)
This juice bar I went to right now doesn't have that, sadly :(
But it's still nice to be able to get my juice in a reusable glass.

When I was a kid, the only disposable cups were made of paper or waxed cardboard...and soda pop came only in glass bottles or aluminum cans.
We could take the empty glass bottles back to the store and get five cents for each bottle
There wasn't anything so tasty as a soda pop out of a frosty cold glass bottle!

The movie Silver Bullet has the girl doing returns of soda bottles. And also I've seen us Seinfeld episode where Newman & Kramer are trying to make a profit off of returning bottles with a mail truck it's pretty funny

Ohh! That's cool, Inzane! :D
I didn't know they gave you money back for returning glass bottles. :)
I think we should do that again! I think it would encourage a lot of people to reuse/recycle glass.

I haven't looked lately, but some aluminum soda cans used to have a notice on them where you could return them for deposit in some states...but since most people just toss them in the recycle bin I doubt that they still offer a deposit refund anymore.

I take back all my 5cents bottles ^^;; and the rest of the metal, plastic, paper we take to the recycle plant because I refuse to put it in a dumpster. I'd rather have it be in my kitchen for over a month because of life getting in the way not allowing us to get to the plant than throw it in the dumpster and fill a landfill with stuff that can make something new xD

Thanks, hummy. :)
I'm a little grumpy right now... I finished my acting classes this week and I got a "progress report" type thing sent to my agent. In the report it said, "We recommend Ava cuts her hair."
And I SPECIFICALLY ASKED, "Should I cut my hair?" And they said, "I don't know anything about African American hair, so I think it's fine as is..."?!!?!?
THE HELL?! WHY YOU LYING?! >:(
Anyway, I'm not going to cut my hair. It took me a while to grow it and when it was short my agent (in Minnesota) claimed I looked like a boy. >:T
I understand that my hair is big... I get that, but I can pin it back or put it in a ponytail.. WHY would I cut it?!

I agree with Hummy about a wig...though you might consider having your hair cornrowed to keep it tight to your head to accommodate a wig worn on it.
Personally, I think your hair looks just fine the way it is!

I spoke to my agent and she too agreed that I need to cut my hair because it's "too big". :(
I've been sad ALL day... She said, "If Ava wants to be an actress she will have to make sacrifices."... I asked if she had a picture of how she would like my hair to look and she said, "Just google "afro"." ... um. Every afro looks different?!
I just have a hard time with these white people telling me how my hair should be when they don't even know anything about ethnic hair! Afros come in many different textures... I would think that they'd at least know that! >:T
It's just so sad...
I'm not like... "married" to my hair or anything... but when my hair was short, my agent said I looked like a boy. And honestly, it wasn't very attractive on me.
And the thing is, if they want my hair out off my face, I can always pin it up...

I still suggest that you have your hair corn-rowed with beads in it and see what your agent thinks of that. Or maybe 2 puffy ponytails?
Aren't most "afros" big?!
If you are paying this agent, she has the obligation to specify what she wants your hair to look like!

I ended up getting my hair "trimmed". :)
Also, my hair stylist said that I could "style" my hair differently so it's not in my face.
I'm okay with it... I'm not mad that my hair is shorter.
My hair stylist was also like, "Wtf? She didn't tell you how she wanted your hair styled?"

I think Ava looks beautiful as she is is with her hair how she feels comfortable. But I'm sure her trimmed haircut is beautiful as well. Throwing a weave out of his funny though
