Now with the novel out this series is officially done. And I have to say, it just went downhill from the beginning. I loved the first issue. It hooked me in a world of sex, love and mystery. By the end, it was just getting silly and stupid. The main plot of how all the families were linked was interesting, and I enjoyed it, but that was the climax.

SPOLIERS

I'm also a Ryoki fan, so I hated the novel. Not to mention it wasn't really a novel, more like what you'd read if someone was reading the manga and giving you small updates every couple of pages. Someone just saying, "And then this happened, and this happened." The parts that were original and not from the manga were a little better written, those pages actually had descriptions and depth. Still though, my favorite character didn't get the girl and fell off the face of the earth half way through.

The end of the manga wasn't even that flattering of Ryoki. It should have been magical and something cheesy like he's finally perfect and kind to her because he understand true love... blah blah blah. Not her practically getting raped and then being too embarassed to even speak to her sister about it. I dunno, for loving him she wasn't too happy about her decision. It's as if the author hated the character from the beginning. I was drawn to him and thought he was the most interesting. You could see his entire character developement from his childhood to his parents to his first love to his school. He was the character who really had just a lot to offer the manga.

In conclusion, this manga disappointed me.

I havn't gotten the final volume yet, mostly because I ca't let my parents see me buying it. :?

But I knew that she chose Ryoki, and he was also my favorite. I'm not looking forward to reading the novel, and Ryoki seems to be getting meaner throughout the series. I liked the irst few books best, but it seemed to go downhill after book six or seven.

I concur. Honestly, the novel adds a lot of back story to a certain character, but the ending is completely different and I hate it. I don't like the idea that I can choose which ending I like better. I'd rather there be one ending, the true ending.

Agreed. Not to mention, Shinogu is nice, but I don't think she can really love him in more than a brother/sister way. Hes just..too simple, too nice, and not very dynamic at all.

Exactly. Where as Ryoki is powerful and just plain loves her so much, yet he doesn't even understand it himself. The same with her. That's real love. The kind where you can't understand why you just love them anyways. Shinogu is ya, her brother. You can live with someone all your life thinking you are related and then suddenly turn that off. It would take years for her to really be able to accept it. Him becoming a monk was just over the top. The book goes on and on about all the girls who have crushes on him, I'm sure there's a girl out there better for him than his own sister, real or not.

Yeah, I thought that him and Asahi would make a cute couple, really. Wait...monk? o.O

If I found out that my older brother wasn't really my brother and he was in love with me...

Yeah. Nothing would change. I don't think that because he isn't related to me makes it okay to...y'know. That would just be weird!

Erm crap... don't mind the monk thing. Me and my not paying attention.

Anyways, ya, finding out a family member is not actually your flesh and blood is one thing, finding out they are also in love with you well... that's just a tad messed up. :S

Tis okay, I don't really mind spoilers too badly. :o

I'm going to find out anyway, haha.

But seriously, a monk?

And yeah. That'd be strange.

i read all of the manga and it was good but im not a big Ryoki fan [ sorry ] although he was nice at times but i think that Shinogu was a better match but in conclusion personally i think the ending sucked. i have yet to get my hands on the novel but i probably will. *spolier* who becomes a munk? i think thats kind of weird way to end it for Shinogu.

Correct! I thought he was going to be more involved in the rest of the story. He kinda dissapears from the story now and then though.

Poor Hatsumi.

He does really like her. Couldn't ya tell? He's just screwed himself over too much. And now he doesn't really know what to do.

I still liked Ryoki more at the beggining. Total sexy boy to the rescue.

I never really liked Azusa. *sigh* But I did think that it was sweet of him to want Shinogu and Hatsumi to be together.

If you liked Shinogu, you will absolutely love the novel. Though again, it's not really a novel until 2/3 of the way in. I should grab it and tell you which chapter you can start reading from if you've already read the manga... but it's not long anyways, you'll get through it as quickly as oh, a manga and a half? Anyways, lots of extra backstory + completely different ending. There's also a little more Azusa for Azsua lovers. :P

I haven't read the last volume, because the store I get my manga from doesn't have it. I like it though, especially how the Japanese people actually look like they're japanese, unlike a lot of manga out there.

I've only read the first volume but I think it has potential to be a good story.

I love this manga, it's so angtsy and even if I prefer Ryoki for Hatsumi there are times I just wish they'd just go ahead and have a threesome or something already. :D

Anyway I read the spoiler somewhere months ago and I though the story just ended sad.

XDD Ahh, I didn't read very much of this manga. When the first volume came out in english, I read a bit and enjoyed it. But I ran out of time so I left and wasn't able to finish the entire volume. (How unfortunate. ;3;) I read a few other volumes as well, randomly and liked it. Although I wouldn't spend my money and buy the series. XD;
