I'll admit, I'm certainly a Harry Potter fanatic ^^ So it was only natural when I learned of a band called Harry and the Potters a few years back, that I should give them a listen... And I loved what I heard <3
Now, "Wizard Rock," as it has been deemed, has spread! There are bands and songs about any and every thing in the magical world of Harry Potter.
Free talk about Wizard Rock!

I've herd of it before, but not actually herd any of the music. I'll have to give it a look. I know my friend who's more into HP than i was, set up a Wizzard Rock band some years ago.

I liked Harry Potter first but started to dislike it because I didn't like the thought that one student had to go meddle with bussines that isn't his to concern but that's just my weird opinion. :P

Since Jarvis Cocker appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, singing the song "Do The Hippogriff", would one consider him the 'godfather' of wizard rock?

Yes, but this thread isn't quite about Harry Potter, but wizard rock bands and songs, which were inspired by Harry Potter. Please stay on topic ^^
Berginyon: I don't know. Maybe... I haven't really looking into Jarvis Cocker... But some wizard rock bands have been around before the 4th movie soundtrack was recorded...

Hahaha, over the summer me and my friend started a wizard rock band! XDD
We only have a couple of songs, like 'Hufflepuffs don't suck', 'Green thumb, gold heart' and my favorite 'The ballad of a tattered teacher' XD
I enjoy how lame they are. :3 We took our guitars to a local book 7 launch party and played a lot for everyone. XD
Besides that, though, they only places that will take us is the library! XD

I LOVE Wizard Rock. I got my boyfriend into Harry and the Potters when we first started going out. xD Nerdy love is the best.
I really, really like Ministry of Magic too now.

I hope no one minds me reviving this thread...I was about to start a new one, but did a search first. I will be straight up, The Remus Lupins are about the best wrock band ever. I love them a lot a lot a lot, and will be seeing them for the third time in a few weeks.
I've been wanting to start a wrock band, but I can't find enough people interested T-T I wanted to make a chick-wrock band called The Hogwarts Heartbreakers, but, aside from there being a lack of interest in people I know, I then found Ginny and the Heartbreakers, and the names are too similar anyhow.
Does anyone have some under-appreciated wrock bands they know of? Because I'll check them out :)

I always preferred Draco and the Malfoys over Harry and the Potters.
My Dad Is Rich made me laugh.
But really, I don't like Harry Potter enough to actually actively listen to these bands without feeling stupid.

I'm interested in wizard rock but I wouldn't know where or how to look it up / look for it ! The only thing I have is the "Rocking Out Against Voldemedia" compilation from Mugglenet awhile ago.

I've heard of wrock, but have not actually listened to any. This must change. I'm thinking it would be hilariously fun to be in a wrock band, though. XD
I'd call my band "Pygmy and the Puffs", because I'm super short. =P Hey, can't a girl dream?

I love wizard rock. I got into it via youtube and then myspace. Despite the fact I don't have a myspace. But I like most of the main wrock bands, like the moaning myrtles, the parselmouths., the remus lupins, ministry of magic, harry and the potters and draco and the malfoys, etc. But nowadays I listen to APWR which is Accio-Potter Wrock Radio! It plays all sorts of wizard rock, and is avalible for download.
Plus I like Spellcast which is a general harry potter podcast, but it focuses on the fandom.

I've never been greatly into wrock, but I did look up a few bands a while back to see what they were like. I enjoyed Draco and the Malfoys' music, particularly My Dad Is Rich and Potions Yesterday. Also, Alas Earwax! (I think that was the guy's name. -- A google search confirms this was the guy I was thinking of.) Cliff Notes Harry Potter is great. XD
