Genres generally annoy me since music elitists just *love* to jump on anyone who incorrectly labels a band. I don't even bother putting my music in a genre, since I'd likely get jumped for doing so.

Okay, I'll give this a shot. In no particular order, ten styles of music I love are:

1. Korean rap. Yes, Korean, and no other.
2. Rock, any kind and in any language.
3. Christmas music - it's so festive!
4. Techno and dance music, my absolute favorite.
5. Metal, as long as the music is hard but the voices aren't. I HATE screaming where you can't understand what people are saying. Where's the talent in that, other than having the ability to keep your voice after doing that for any long period of time?
6. Ballads, as long as they're truly unique and have a catchy tune. These are usually my least favorite songs, but some artists, such as Lee Soo Young (Korean) make it impossible for me to hate ballads altogether, when some artists are truly unique and have a special ability to touch you with their music, WITHOUT the cliches.
7. Mood music - not sure what you'd call it, but anything Celtic, Gaelic... Enya!
8. Opera. I prefer more modern sounds, like Josh Groban or Sarah Brightman, but I've been to an actual opera (sadly, only once), and I've listened to some classics at home, such as Mozart's "The Magic Flute," while reading along with the actual text and translations.
9. Pop, of course. It's the catch-all for fun music, I guess.
10. Nouvelle Scene. I recently got into this style of French music, and I'm so totally hooked. It seems so traditional, yet modern, and I'm so eager to find more. If you're curious, give this CD a try. The official website looks like it will let you sample the music from this Nouvelle Scene CD. My favorite tracks are:
