Who here downloads music randomly like I do? Sometimes when I get really bored, I go on Gaia and ask in the Chatterbox for music recommendations. (Because I prefer people coming to me than me go around in the music forum to research for something good) I would just generally download whatever title people give me. Sometimes they can end up crappy (in my personal opinion) or absolutely great ones.
There are other times where I download songs and just leave them there because I only listen up to 20 seconds before moving to the next song on my music list. Then when I go back, I realize how good it is and why I didn't notice earlier? D:
Now I am in the process of deleting songs I hate and boy, having over 1k worth of songs takes long to get through. I don't understand how my friend can store over 30k (I'm assuming but he's a music freak so I'm sure the number is greater than that) on his computer. I'm planning to get an Ipod/Mp3 so I definitely need to clear up a few things. x_x
So, discuss musique. 8)

If you ever want suggestions, let me know! I love music, and I recommend a pretty wide variety.
Pretty much everything falls under "Rock", but it's such a wide and vague category. It's not all bands that sound the same.
My tastes span about forty years, and tons of subgenres.

I think it is easier if you know you like all the songs to have them in the 1000's.

I don't download songs... but rather listen to the radio on last.fm and see where that takes me.
When I used to download it, I've just left it on my disk drive because I never know if I want to listen to it again...
There were only about 20 songs, though.

that happens to me all the time. like when im bored, i go on limewire and start downloading songs that i get recommendations from and then they end up in my thought "crappy". i just hate when that happens >< its just so troublesome to go through every song i have then having to listen to them, then find out that they suck, and then have to delete it and then eventually have to delete everything in my trash. i like rock and anime music. they just have the prettiest songs for the openings and endings!! well... they usually do ^^;;

I usually only download stuff I know I like, but every once in a while I'll download something random, and I usually end up regretting it.

I don't usually randomly download anything. If I hear a good song or someone tells me about one, I open up Rhapsody. I can listen to 25 songs a month for free ( only one time each though XD ) that way I don't waste money if it turns out I don't like the song. I guess if you try out more than 25 songs per month though, that would not work very well for you XD

I never really randomly download them. I only download the ones I like or my husband wants. I listen to random ones to find out if they are any good. But never download them before seeing. I have quite a few downloaded on my computer and flash drives and my mp3 player.

I never randomly download music onto my computer. Takes up space that could be used for something else. So when someone recommends a song; I either check out the artists Myspace page or search for it on youtube first. I'll listen to it then and decide if I should download it or not. I've about 50 songs on my computer. I rarely download music.

I have quite a few songs too, not many artists though since I prefer to download full albums of all the artists I like. Everything's pretty organized and in whatever folder they belong to. Circa's an organization freak. 8D
I did come across a few tracks from the Guild Wars OST in my music library, and I'm like, "WUT? WHEN DID I LISTEN TO THIS? o3o"

My methods are not messy at all O.o
1. I find good music, sometimes a friend sends or shows me something awesome. Other times I hear something from tv or on the internet on a profile or whatever. I get very interested.
2. I go to Amazon to check some previews of the artist's albums. I get my hands on the album to check wether I really like it.
3.1 I rename everything necessary and put it in my musicfolder's subfolder "albums", nothing's out of order =D
3.2 The album sucks or Im only interested in one song. There's different subfolders where I order the type of music for that ^-^

Sometimes when I get tired of the same ol' junk I'll go through the pages on Soundclick and find an obscure band that nobody's heard of. There's some nifty stuff to be heard if you just search through the band pages on a site like Myspace or Soundclick and go past the most popular bands.
