I get on Mene, poke around, eventually head into the shops because I thought I saw some items I didn't recognize. Lo and behold the stores are in such a mess that there is no visible organization system that I can see within the stores whatsoever. So pleaaaase sort them in some fashion; even if it's only by price. Even that would be better than the hodge podge that exists now.

Ah - it doesn't appear to be placed yet. I know there are some things on the map that aren't meant to be shown yet, so they're probably busy removing those surprises until they're ready to be released.

They were sorted by lowest price first. I changed it to sort from highest to lowest price.

Temmon, I can assure you, we do take note of things like these that the users bring up, and these are exactly the types things that the team notes that we need to fix, and as mentioned, we do care. Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated.

Yes, there is a pixel map that will be placed up, though I'm honestly not clear about the details behind that issue (or if I can even reveal them even if I knew), but it is coming, along with the elimination of those other bugs as well.

I would love it if the shops could be sorted by price and by newest items. You could pick which one you wanted. Also, something is wrong with the sort-by-price list right now, it's sorting by the first digit.

500
4500
300

on so on.

I know that preview item is one of the next major features that's being talked about being worked on. I don't know how soon we'll be able to get to it, though. It depends entirely on when we can get the major bugs taken care of. But Ken seems to think it won't be that hard - it's just having the time to do it. :3

I love the idea of individuals being able to pick their own sorting.
Kind of like on itunes, where you can click to sort by name, price, and newest. Also being able to click which way to sort whether it would be newest first or oldest first, etc.

All snide comments aside, wouldn't the intuitive way to sort the stores be by set rather than price?

The intention is to do it both ways, group things together with their set items, but have them in the store listed by ascending price. The only way to do that though, is the empty the store, which has to be done one item at a time, them put them all back in again, which also has to be done one item at a time.

Store ordering, the same as many other things are going to have to wait for a while though. We have an event coming up and the focus is going to have to turn to that for a while once the big forum problems have been solved.

It's not that hard. It's an "ORDER BY" statement in your SQL query in ONE location. To sort by price in the right way, in any case. I understand how sorting by groups is extraordinarily tedious.

Donna's thing about multiple sorting options would also be really really really easy to implement.

Yes, I realize that getting the forum up to specifications is a top priority right now and should be. But events are mostly manned by the lower level staff and unless you implement some amazing new thing for the event, the coders won't have to do anything except poke their heads into the staff forum and say "good job guys" periodically. Events should not be excuses for not getting work done. I feel that there is no excuse for not effecting simple changes that could make significant changes to the program as a programmer myself. I have a website of my own and whenever a simple change is pointed out or when I discover one, I typically immediately make that change. It's not that hard...

And I guess that in the end, I'm just tired of my perceived administrator apathy and by excuses made by people who have no idea what's going on or even what they're talking about...

Temmon - with all due respect, there is need for the coder (Ken - we only have the one) to do things for the May Event.

I have only one question about the shops... forgive me for posting in someone else's thread, but i didn't want to make a repeat thread... What happened to the sellback store? are we gonna have it back soon?

Also with all due respect, why cant all the staff participte in the events? What if they feel like having some fun? They dont get paid to do put up with the crap they get dished on this site do they? As in actual paychecks...i think not. ._. even if they were they need to have some fun now and then D: its not quite fair to be like YOU HAVE ALREADY WORKED SO HARD FOR A WHILE NO EVENT FOR JOO /whip whip

Temmon, I am not making "excuses". How would you know whether there's any coding to do for the next event or not? Ken does indeed have a lot to do for it, I know this as I assigned the tasks to him myself. Please don't make such huge assumptions.

The stores will get sorted when Ken has time to fix the code, as I've already explained to you, it would take too long for me to do it manually.
If it's as simple a thing to fix as you say it is, then I'm sure that it won't take long to do, but there are other issues with a higher priority right now.
Plus, Ken also has work to do on Lee's other sites. Now that the port is complete we no longer have all his attention. So if something goes wrong elsewhere, we have to wait.

Whilst getting the store items ordered would be nice, it is not essential. It's purely a cosmetic thing, nothing is actually wrong with the shops, nothing is broken.
. So they will simply have to wait their turn.
