Still no exact date - but we're going to be October 2009.
No real theme to the wedding- just something simple with the ceremony and reception in the same place - I'm hoping we can have this settled very soon because I want to start looking into other things, like photographers and DJ, and favors.
If we have to do our own centerpieces I was thinking about using potted mums - this way there is less waste, people can take the potted plants home and actually plant them - instead of cutting flowers. We also talked about drying flowers and having dried arrangements that can still be useful.
If someone had told me I would like the fluffy gown I would of laughed at them - but when I put it on I was like . . wow!!!
I did the same thing with the simple gown - I was in shock at how much I liked it. People keep saying when you put it on you just know- well, I feel equally about the two of them right now and I think logic may have to solve me dilemma - or another dress
I'm also leaning towards the simple dress because of how heavy the other dress is.

ew, yeah heavy dress with no straps sounds a bit dangerous.
Lilim- Same here. But I lucked out by visiting a designer's outlet store. The only one in the whole country and it just happned to be in the same city we were living in. Got a gorgeous gown that actually had a detachable terrian, and saved a couple of grand!

Sia, I love the top gown for it's simplicity, but the bodice on the second gown is gorgeous. Anyway you can find a dress that combines the two. Ruffles are okay, but the top gown just falls so elegantly and looks like it would move freer.

This is all so exciting! and I CAN SEE THE WEDDING GOWN FINALLY~ (sorry, a bit too excited~)
woot, that one is red. DX lol. I thought you would try to be wearing red to be striking~ <33
Both gowns are great~ I luff...
Fflurflur, lol, I have the same kinda psychology like you. I will NEVER feel comfortable with strapless clothes. I will be WORRYING over the dress every second! -__-

I'm going to try and look again next week - maybe I'll luck out and find a combo of the two >.<
The dresses aren't too pricey either- the simple one is $750 and the fancy one is $1111.
The simple one looks so pretty with a veil and sparkly headpiece in front - the more I think about it the more I love the simple one - but I'm not 100% yet
I'm not worried about the dress moving or falling off because of how it's made there is no option to pull down - it almost rests on your hips - but it is heavy so I worry about back pain.

I think so... but since never wear anything strapless... so... can't say for sure. Seeing people wear also let me worry. LOL.

Sia, those are beautiful gowns, and the prices are amazing! I too have to put in my vote for the top one, but I tend to have very simple tastes.

Well - we visited the ACE Conference Center last night- the place is beautiful - when we left we decided to see if we can make that the location.
The more we talked about it and the money situation though the more we decided that we can't afford ACE. It's $95 a head plus taxes and tip - and they want 25% deposit (which is like $5,000 )
We're thinking Chez Nicole is where we might try to go - the prices are $76 and $86 a head (depending on what they choose to eat) and taxes and tip are already included in those prices. The deposit and payment schedule is a little easier as well - so we're going to talk more tonight and I would like to get a contract going this weekend if we decide it's the way to go.

Hahaha - weddings are so damn expensive- and we're not trying to do anything huge and don't have the added costs of church. Of course, we do still need to find someone to legally make us married :/

You have to get a marriage certificate and you can either sign in the legal offices or you can have someone officiate at the wedding that is legally allowed to certify your marriage.
We want to have some kind of small ceremony and say vows in front of our family and friends - so we still need to pay a justice of the peace, or a judge, or a priest/ pastor of some sort to come out and marry us.

Not sure if each county in PA is different but in our county you need to apply for a Marriage License that you present to whoever is going to marry you on the day of your wedding.

That's what is looks like for Philadelphia - and you can not apply for a license more than 30 days before the wedding (or something like that) - which makes me nervous because out city personnel generally suck and 'lose' things and 'forget' things and stuff just generally doesn't get done in a timely manor.
Then again - I think you can only go in person to get the license so maybe they hand it to you before you leave and just make you wait around the building forever.

I probably can - but I'm not worried about that yet since I'm so far out form the wedding at this point.
