I want to get my left ear pierced but my mom keeps changing her mind on it. I think some are sexy, but some are just plain insane.

I was wondering what everyone here's thought son piercings were. Do you have any piercings? If so, what? I have seven piercings: tongue, eyebrow, lip, monroe, navel, and both tragus. What are your views on piercings? Do you think society treats those of us with piercings differently. To me it seemed so a few years back (I come from a small town), but now it seems widely accepted. I would just like to hear everyone's views on body piercings.

I think they're sexy.
I wouldn't consider getting one, though.

I think some people still have problems with piercings.
Perhaps they see it as, not neat?
I, for one, like piercings.
However, i wouldn't get one because of how badly I have heard they can be infected.

I think it's disgusting, but none of you are wrong to like it and my own beliefs aren't wrong either.

I think it would be ok in the lips,nose, eyebrow,belly button, and ear. As long as the person realizes that it will leave a scar forever. They look really nice though.

Certain places definitely not, like the ones that signify that you are in to certain things... It's fine if you're in to that, but you have to be okay with other people not being okay with it.
Besides, it can get crowded with all that metal. That's not to say I'm against everything but the standard ear piercing. Just I find it maybe a bit offensive if it's overdone.

Really, it's ok if you have like, 3 or so piercings, but when people over do it, and just laden themselves with metal, I find it less attractive =/

I don't have any. When i was a kid my mom wanted me to get my ears pierced. Because of that I didn't want them pierced. XD

I don't have a problem with piercings mostly. As long as they look nice.

I think that anything outside of the realm of earrings gets a bad rap for being unprofessional even if the person is otherwise clean. Things seem to be changing a bit though.

I still don't want any piercings however. Fine for other people. But not on me. ^^;;

I have a couple. 3 on each of my ears , 1 belly , 1 eyebrow and about to get 2 more on my left ear. =3

I don't have any piercings, but I want to get a few on my ears and a nose ... maybe a lip... XD... but might not happen for a while or at all because of where I work and the career I might go into... I think piercings are nice as long as they aren't overdone... because some people just overdo it and look awful to me, but they might look hard core smhexy to someone else lmao... but yea.. piercings and tattoos are probably becoming more accepted some places because of their popularity, but there are still people out there who don't like them at all... but you know... if people want to do that then that's fine with me because it's their bodies and it's their choice what they do to their bodies

I like them in moderation, and in certain places say for example, ears and nose. But anything other than that i find tacky. With the exception of the belly bar, which is okay, but i just find it disgusting for reasons mostly unrelated to piercing.
When people over do it, i think it hinders their apperance.
I myself don't have any piercings, although i've recently thought about getting my ears done, and on occasion, a discrete nose stud. I don't think i ever will though.

I have my ears pierced, and I could see myself getting second holes, but other than that, I really don't think I'd want to get any other part of my body pierced. I think they look fine on other people though. I've seen some nice monroes or snake bites (is that the right term?) I just don't see things like that on me.

I like piercings, as long as they're not overdone. I have earrings and a navel piercing myself.

as far as piercings go, I love them. I have my lip done, I used to have my eyebrow down and I have my ear done. Sometimes I think people go a little over board though. One of my friends has above her butt crack pierced and her entire face (2 monroes, 2 dimples, semptum, snake bites, tounge, both eyebrows, labret, sternum.) She actually had to go to the hospital for her dimple piercings. I think she also has a lace up piercing on one of her arms...

I personally am only allowed to have my ears pierced once because of religion. And I am perfectly fine with that. However, if I didn't belong to my religion, I wouldn't mind getting a monroe, a lip ring, my ears pierced a couple more times, and a nose stud.

I have nothing against people who have a lot of piercings. It's their way of expressing themselves and if they're happy with it then let them be.

But piercing the tongue or mouth can be unsanitary and you could get an infection. It is also a breeding ground for bacteria.

Your teeth could get deformed too.

As for myself, my ears are the only part of my body that are pierced. I don't plan on getting a piercing on the other parts of my body. It's painful. T_T

People have the right to poke holes in their body if they so wish. P: I personally have snakebites, though I'm getting a bit tired of them. I have rings in right now but I'm looking for tiny studs with gems in them. I got those piercings when I was fifteen and a half and I'm almost eighteen now; my style has done somewhat of a 180 since then, but I don't want to permanently take out my jewelry for the simple fact that I paid for them... and I also enjoy kissing with them in :lol:

America is quite accepting of piercings. However, I'm Chinese and I've noticed that people from China or Taiwan, even if they have lived in the US for a while, can be rather rude and blunt about less common piercings. When I was in Taiwan, people (both people I was acquainted with and complete strangers) blatantly mocked me for my piercings and were just generally douchebags about the subject. It's mostly older people though; the younger generation is more open minded and fascinated with them in a good way.

Oh boy...piercings. I have nine - eight in my ears (three in each lobe, two high in left ear) and one in my lip (right side). And...I want more. XD I keep telling myself no more, because at this point I need a normal day job, and...that doesn't make things easy. XD;; But I already have two friends who want more piercings and are worried about chickening out - I've already agreed that if they do it, they can pick anything for me to get pierced and I'll do it.
I'm almost afraid of what they'll tell me to do, really. XD;;; But I trust them not to make me do anything that would really bother me. XD;

The lowest holes in my ears are stretched to 6ga, and I'm debating whether or not I want to keep going to 0...I probably will, though, because once an idea like that gets into my head, it usually stays there until it gets done. Honestly, I debated having my lip pierced for nearly two years before I did it. XD;;

Honestly in my opinion, I think that those who have a lot of piercings, it is just their choice. Some pictures I have seen of people with piercings (usually like all over their faces, ears, tongue, practically all over their body) actually look quite creepy and look like they went over board but their body.

I have only 2 piercings. I have had my ears pierced once and that was when I was very young and when I turned 16 or 17 I think, I got my ears pierced a second time. Unlike some others in my family, I really rather not get any other part of my body pierced. My ears being pierced twice, is good enough for me.

Piercings are totally hot... plan on getting a small nose ring... they aren't as sexy as tats though... tats own my heart, just not too many that's kinda weird.

Piercings look really cool, but not too many of them, I think.
