I know so many people who don't like instrumental music! :talk2hand:
It's my favorite type of music. I'm personally very fond of Zoe Keating and Jonathan Elias~

One of my favorite songs ever is Waiting in the Forest by Jonathan Elias. :eager:

Tell me I'm not alone, Menewsha! And if I'm not, shall we introduce each other to some really great songs?
And please don't just list classical music! I love any instrumental genres. :)

My least favorite is probably techno though~

I'm really big on Explosions in the Sky, which is probably, one of the greatest instrumental rock bands ever.

People should also check out the bands Mogwai and Sigur Ros. Just cause. o.o

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to say that Sigur Ros isn't instrumental. Still sounds amazing though, with instrumentation that will blow you away. Lulz.

I'd never heard of them before!
But wow, the song Your Hand in Mine is beautiful! :eager:

I have to get an album of theirs!

I've heard of Sigur Ros, they do some beautiful music too.
And I can't find Mogwai on iTunes to listen to it. :(

Edit: Eep I lied, just found a buttload. ^^

I decided to check out Zoe Keating, it's very nice! Most of her stuff is done on the cello it seems..? o:

Coolness, you're digging the Explosions? :3

I just really do like *cough* post-rock in general, it's great for studying, and it's all just so emotional. It's insane.

And as for the rest of Menewsha..and the world, who doesn't enjoy instrumentals... :talk2hand:

Explosions in the Sky are a great band. I know there are a couple of other instrumental bands I like, but their names escape me right now. I do remember when I went to see the Cure last May, the opening act was an instrumental band called 65daysofstatic and they were pretty good.

65daysofstatic are very interesting!
I'll have to get an album of theirs too. :boogie:

John Williams does some beautiful music. I found about him from watching Memoirs of a Geisha. :)

Have you seen their live performances?

What a light show! :squee:
I probably won't go see one in real life because I'd come out blind as a mole, but the videos on youtube are pretty cool.

65daysofstatic are crazy good. Everyone should check it out if they like electronic/rock/glitch, it's a crazy combination of all those genres. >w<

And lol, I always remember the youtube videos of the Trans-Siberian-Orchestra, silly house with its lights.

I remember that house! They used it on a commercial for something once...

I don't have any albums from them though, to be honest. They're a little... uh... rough? For me. It's pretty, but the drums and electric guitar is just so heavy.

Haha, that's where I first saw it! Now what was it a commercial for... <_<

xD I see.
Hrm...you can try Caspian? They're instrumental as well, and softer than 65DOS.

Oh, I like 65DOS! It was Trans-siberian than I don't listen to frequently.
But I'll check them out as well.

I like what I've heard, and most of that would either be classical music or video game music xD

Nobuo Uematsu, the composer of the Final Fantasy games, has some spectacular music. He's even made a metal band :3 Makes me happy xD

The guy who made the music from the Final Fantasy games is really great! Haven't downloaded any of his stuff, but I've seen it on iTunes and have heard it through the games. :)

I'm in love with instrumental music! Sometimes I'm not in the mood for it though, but even then, I really appreciate the fact that they can carry the song and its emotions without words~ :3

If you guys are into acoustic guitar, you should all check out Andy McKee~ He really knows how to make use of the guitar, imo. =) He not only uses the strings, but also the wooden surface of it and stuff. My favorite songs of his are Rylynn (hence my username xD) and Drifting (one if his more creative works). ;]

I just checked out Andy Mckee, and his music really is beautiful.

And I think thats one of my favorite things about instrumental music, there is a lot of emotion, and a story (if you want to be bothered to make one up, which I like to do! xD ).

Ohh, stories~ :> I love making up stories about them too. :3 It's something I like to do subconsciously the moment a piece of instrumental music starts to play~ xD

Umm... I can't think of any other pieces at the top of my head right now, but I'll see if I can find more good artists for you guys to listen to. :3 My dad happens to know a ton of good instrumentalists, so I'll ask him for some even. ;]

And, I've yet to check out your recommendations just yet, but I'll be sure to when I get the chance~ :3

You may like Sgt. in this case.
They're a kinda post-rock instrumental band, formed in 1999 but with only 13 songs out on one album, and one mini-album.
Here's a quick head start on them.
http://www.zbsatozofjmusic.com/2008/10/sgt.html

And go onto their website. Listen to the 16:43 song which plays as you get on there. In my opinion at least, it's kinda epic. :]

65daysofstatic are pretty epic.
DeVotchKa used to be instrumental, I've been listening to them a lot lately.

Other than them, I listen to the classics every once in a while (The stuff that goes great with exploding buildings).

I love instrumental music ^^
There's a Greek musician, Yanni, whose songs are incredibly beautiful.
Not all are instrumental, but most of them are.

I love Giovanni Marradi's music. He's a pianist and his music is absolutely beautiful. I can get lost listening to him. I am also a big fan of Celtic instrumental music.

There's Apocalyptica which is a cello group but they are awesome.
Vanilla Mood is pretty good but not everyone would like some of their particular versions of pieces but I guess that goes for just about anything.

Ratatat is one of my favourite instrumental bands. And I also listen to a lot of bands who have instrumental tracks, but aren't purely instrumental bands.
