Um... how did I get here?

Hmmm, I have a rather amusing story that my friends and I re-tell every year. It's about my friend Melissa and her sheer terror in the sight and sound of chainsaws. Mind you, she's not a girl, she'll be thirty next year.

Every year for Halloween, like the good friends that we are, a large group of us goes to Cheeseman's Fright Farm for their haunted hayride. It's traditional. Well, the first year that my friend Melissa went, we all knew she was terrified of chainsaws and dutifully tried to sic every chainsaw wielding monster upon her. So she was utterly terrorized and angry at us when we finished the hayride.

Once we got back to the starting point at the barn, we realized how late it was and that some of the actors were packing it up and calling it a night. One of them, of course, remembered Mel and ran off to get his mask and chainsaw. He chased her across the parking lot, where we found her curled up in the fetal position on the hood of another friend's car, with her hood over her head and Mr. Monster still cranking the saw. Again, like the good friends we are, we were all dying of laughter.

She then rolled off the hood and proceeded to run around the locked car being chased by the monster until Joe unlocked it and she got in the driver seat and locked EVERYBODY out. The chainsaw wielder ducked down out of her view and we all took turns telling her to let us in the car and that he was gone. Again, the good friends that we are, when she finally unlocked the door, there was the chainsaw guy getting into the passenger seat of the car, cranking the saw. Laughter ensues... We're mean people. Ha ha ha!
