-[History]-
Since the start of the Festival of Winter Nights event, there was struggle between teams to build the largest snowman, however, just the size of it wasn't the only obvious factor; another, more tempting factor was thrown in, and its name was Greed. Preparing yarn after yarn for unsespecting takers in the inevital hope of falling to temptation, it would in turn throw back the efforts to complete the snowman. Many have, indeed fallen to Greed's lure, however, there are others who, aware of the losing struggle of Channah, attempt to pursuade others away from Greed's lure.
However, the true reason not to allow Greed to win was already revealed, much to an amount of oblivity. A prophecy was written that the Seven Deadly Sins would one day return, and together rid of the 'Amorus Island', as translated by Abel. However, what could happen to Amorus could very well happen to Menewsha, as well...
As one of the few fully aware of this, I, Mingnon B. Filiae, have set forth a call to all those willing to battle the Seven Deadly Sins, in the hopes to prevent further incidents such as the one at the Winter Festival, as well as the overall potential destruction of Menewsha.
As to this day, I will declare this organization to be named the Knightly Virtues.
(A more proper name would be the Heavenly Virtues, but I thought this one was cooler.)
-[Rules]-
-All Menewshan TOS and Rules apply here.
-Be sure not to get on anyone's bad side, even for jest.
-Not that we don't want you to have fun... >.>; We don't want the jerk-y kind's all.
-Abide by the word of Mingnon... not that I'm God or anything, I just need to get my word across, kay?
-Lessee... what else...
-Well, Have fun, I suppose... but don't forget what we're for!
-Also, rules may change at any time as fit.
-One more thing; spread the word about the Knightly Virtues! Send links, use banners, stuff like that will be of help to our cause!
-[How to Apply]-
Send the following to Mingnon (Myself) in a PM, with the title 'I Hereby Pledge Covenant':
(Oh yeah, and remove the spaces in the codes... >.>; )
[ B]Mene Username:[/B]
[ B]Best Virtue:[/B]
[ I]I hereby vow to battle the Deadly Sins in any and all activities that they engage. This will be my responcibility as a Knight of Virtue, only in exception of the case that I am unable to attend to my duty.[/I]

Hey - sounds like a fun hangout idea. :3
I just wanted to correct one thing...

Amorus is actually a nearby island, not a reference to Menewsha itself. :)
Vicktoria Valentine and Tesel Valentine come from Amorus, though it's possible that they are unaware of the prophesy as it's very old. :)

It's all right. :3 If you hadn't heard that the Valentines were from Amorus before, it would be perfectly reasonable to assume that Amorus was the previous name of Menewsha. ;3

First off, this is an awesome idea and I loved reading the first page, very nice history lesson and just all about well thought out.
I might apply, but, wouldn't it look a little...strange if a Virtue Knight Named Ehnvy would fight the deadly sin Envy?^^ Actually, that's pretty amusing.

Good afternoon, Mignon!
I've wanted to ask for awhile; are you francophone?
Also, will there be a plan of attack for the Knightly Virtues? A user recently recommended to me that we establish a group of last minute bulk donating-persons on the Half Principle, but I think that said thread is more of a middle ground to bring two worlds together-- hopefully win people over. Your thread, however, seems like an excellent home base for the staunch supporters.
What do you think? Strategies?
:glomp:
I'm so glad you came up with this idea!

Yeah, thanks.
Anyway, I wasn't really planning on any donation plans unfortunately; I was... well, thinking ahead. So that's a bit of a whoopsie there.. ^^;
But I will have you know that I am thinking about saving up some yarn and then donating it all at a 'last-minute' time... but not TOO late... just so that the Greed supporters won't have enough time to retaliate.
Also.. I do not speak French. This is sort of an inside-pun on how everyone thinks I'm named after steak, or am French... o-o

I'm already saving up every third yarn ball or so for a massive last-minute donation. Actually it's more like every fifth, since I keep forgetting how many I've donated as opposed to the ones I've kept...but it's the same basic idea.
I'm depressed that the Yarn-o-meter keeps going down. Looks like we're gonna have our work cut out for us, in this event and quite possibly those to come. @_@

I pledge to be there for both!
With the force of our combined bloody-minded willpower, it will work out. I trust the people who've been working for Channah through this event. :yes:

Really, the one thing that Abel said that Ia greed with was "Let the people of Amorus deal with this."
And since that's Icky Vicky's hometown, if we could destroy it with Vicky IN IT, I would be the happiest person alive.
Also, I support the seven sins. Why aren't I in the Dishonorables list? XD

Because that would inflate your ego.
@Mingnon: What do you think of the following idea? We could drum up participants from all of the pro-Channah threads. I'd be willing to do organizational things.
Quote:
We could call on the ones we know are strong for our side and create a schedule to fill all 24 hours. Once that is done, those who are "on clock" could rally up support around the message boards and re-post the stopwatch for users who are pro-Channah. Do you think this plan would be feasible?

Too late, he's on the blacklist.. >.>;
Well, I'm not sure about the 24-hours thing, we have other things to do besides clicking on-the-clock (^^; ), but inviting Pro-Channas seems plausible.

The stopwatch would be posted to assure that all users who are pro-Channah are getting and donating the maximum amount of yarns possible, and remembering to do so whenever they're online.
The "rallying" of the PC would be to ensure that they don't space and forget to participate in the yarn-portion of the event. Basically getting everyone excited. Keeping PC threads going would also be a big thing, because it gives people a reason to stay online and enjoy themselves chatting/donating for longer.
There should probably be some sort of "Side of the Light" circle of threads that we all post on, while we wait to take yarn from greed.

I'm glad you like!
I'll get started PM-ing people to see if they can cover different time slots.
I can create a thread in which the time-slots are filled in, so that everyone in the circle can keep track of which hours need the most "coverage."
It will also have a links section linking to your thread, mine, Lillith's, and many of the others I've seen. If you would like to be linked?
Plus a section with "tools" and quotes that can be posted at the end of messages to rally support.
All of these sound "Go"?
And would you like to be involved?

I'll be involved, in terms of checking on the situation and gathering yarns freely, as I'm going to mass-donate, myself. ^^;
I'm usually on practically all day, well, starting around late morning or afternoon (10-11 to about 12-ish).
Also, again, I do not mind being linked to, as I'll need to have as much notice as possible.

I can let you all know my work schedule for the remainder of the event so you'll know when I'm available, if you'd like...though to make it simple, I'll be here tomorrow...most likely from 5:00 pm until sunrise, Pacific time. The next day, most likely from noon - 2:00 am-ish.
As for tomorrow, I might be able to make it online in the morning...I usually don't wake up before at least 10:00 in the morning, usually later, and I go to work at 12:30...but I can try and get up earlier.
...and don't worry too much about my sleep cycle; it's always screwed up anyway. XD;;;
