Hello!
I'm popping in to say that I luffs you guys and I'm sorry for my long absence. It's going to last a few days longer... Personal issues suddenly went "BOOM!" in a big way, and I've got a bunch of stuff to address.
There's some good along with the bad in there, though!
Anyways, I donated my last 50 or so yarns. The bar seems permanently down, which is saddening-- but I expect we'll be given another shot to combat Greed in future.
Miss you guys!

They need to pay students to go to school. D< Why should I pay to be legally forced to go somewhere I dun wanna be? It's nonsense, I say! Nonsense!

I hate school. DX Everything's either too easy, too repetetive, or both.
I'm one of those people who learns things the first time, so most of the stuff they teach us, I already taught myself at another time, and the rest of it I get the first time they do it. All the homework and practice sheets and stuff are useless to me, and therefore I dislike doing them. I can't stand doing things where I don't see any value in it. :\

I can understand that.
I just keep thinking of the end result. When I finally get this done I will be a teacher. I will have a degree.
That is all that really keeps me motivated in some of my classes (namly science, I hate science)

XDD See, the problem with that is...I want to be a writer. Technically, I don't need a degree for that, so it makes it particularly difficult to stay focused.
The only thing that's really kept me from just saying "screw it" and not even bothering with grades is my ever-insistent drive to succeed. Failure for me is not an option. I've never gotten an F in my life, and I've only gotten two Ds (I cried the first time ^^;; ), both of which were more for attendance than anything (our school has the most messed up attendance policy).

But that is still a reason.
Even if I didn't want to be a teacher I would still go to school because I am the first person in my family to ever go straight into college, and I was told by my step-mom that I'm not smart enough for college.
As long as you have a reason it helps.
And a lot of authors I have read have college degrees. Sometimes they are completely random but they still went to school.
My high school was not really strickt on attendance. They didn't care unless you missed like a week.

I know I should get a degree, and I'm going to if only because I don't really know what else to do, but it's not really a strong enough reward, you know? I have this horrible habit of not doing things I don't see as having a big enough reward. With some things, I see a large enough gain that I'll do it even though I don't want to (excercising leading to a nice-looking body, working leading to money) but with most assignments, the only real value I see in doing them well is an "A" in the grade book, and that just doesn't motivate me enough. I'm not learning from them, I'll never use them again, they aren't practical in anyway, and I can always just do well on the test to make up for it...problem is, get enough of those assignments, and my grade just starts dropping. ^^;
Maybe if they gave me gummy bears or something...XD

Well if that bothers you do like I do.
I hate scince, math, and memorizing dates. So in those classes if I get a good grade on a test then I buy myself a book. If I do bad then I give my sister $10. If I get a good grade overall then I can splurge on books or whatever if I get a C or lower then $50 goes to someone.
Money is a huge motivator for me ^^
