I just have to know, does anyone else here watch QI, the impossibly difficult quiz panel show hosted by Stephen Fry? (QI is short for Quite Interesting)
There are supposed to be 26 seasons of this show (One for each letter of the alphabet. We're now on "F")
The premise of the show is to challenge the boring and mundane, by asking questions on things that are generally agreed upon knowledge, while at the same time being not only boring, but incorrect. Such myths that are debunked in the course of the show are:
The Blue Whale is the largest animal.
The Corby Trouser Press was made in Corby.
The Ancient Greeks saw the sky as Blue.
As well as some interesting questions are raised:
Could Jesus walk on Custard?
What would you do with a bag of Gripples at Christmas?
Which was the second species of animal for humans to domesticate, after the dog?
What song is responsible for more suicides than any other?
Also all of the books are fantastic as well. After the "E" Series, they started to release a QI Annual jam packed with pictures and interesting facts all related to the letter the book is about, only E and F are out, as they forgot to make A, B, C, and D into Annuals.
The Books of General Ignorance and Animal Ignorance are just as lovely. They feel like you're watching the show as the entire book is presented in question/answer format.
I'm currently reading the QI Advanced Banter book, which is filled to the brim with quotations on a variety of topics.
Just wanted to see if there were any fellow fans of this wonderful show.

Oh this show is lovely; The episodes that the BBC hasn't pulled are still on youtube, and even then if you can't watch the show, there's a wonderful site with all of the transcripts of each episode - here.
It's really a fun show :)

Thanks for that link, it sounds like a great show. Stephen Fry is pretty interesting himself -- I've read his book on how to write poetry. It's not bad at all.

I would pay to listen to Stephen Fry read the phone book, plus the comedic talent the keep in rotation on that show is brilliant. My personal favorite is the one where they gave everyone a veto sign and told them that one of the facts on that show was going to be false and they got a big pile of points if they picked the right one, and lost, like 100 points if they picked the wrong one.
It was QI and House that retroactively turned me on to A Bit of Fry and Laurie. :)

It used to be $49.99 on amazon for the whole series, but now it's up $10. The next time they're running a DVD sale, I'll have to grab it.

Actually, I think I found it on Amazon.co.uk for about $40 American (Around 18 Pounds)
My Laptop plays Region 2 DVDs, so I get the QI and Jonathan Creek DVDs straight from Britain. =3

English series... sounds interesting. I'll have to seek it out on YouTube, at the library. My computer hates videos, fast moving objects in general.

So, what's the deal with "QI XL" Did they just decide to make it into an hour long show now? Because that's awesome if it's the case.

Qi is bloody fantastic, I reckon. It's packed with funnily enough, quite interesting stuff, and never fails to make me laugh. :]
