Alright.
We were on the way to an early dinner with my mother. I went to the gas station with my fiance, who pumped for me. When I got back into the car while he pumped, I sent a text message with my phone. He got back in the car, and we headed into town to meet. I heard an unfamiliar phone sound, and wondered where it came from. It wasn't my fiance's phone. It wasn't the radio, so we decided to see if it was my phone.
I looked to my left as best as a driver could. He looked in the middle. I checked under my legs where I usually put it. He checked around my feet. I checked my purse. He checked my purse. It was nowhere to be found in that car. Then, we got to the restaurant's parking lot and I knew I would have a better ability to look for my phone. He called it, but it was off. I leaned over to look on the right side of my seat and then in the compartment under that cigarette lighter...
Guys. I leaned back up, and there my phone was in my lap. I picked it up and I told my fiance. He asked me where it was. I put it back down. I told him it was in my lap. He didn't believe me. I told him it was in my lap. He wanted to know where it really was. I was laughing hysterically at this point while he just gave me this "Stop pulling my leg" look. A tear escaped my eye. I could not believe it, and neither would he.
He said that perhaps someone needed to use it in an alternate dimension, so they turned it off, grabbed it from our dimension, waited for me to be in a position to have it back, and sent it to my lap while my chest and stomach was over it.
I have no conclusions.
Do you have any unexplained moments you'd like to share? Mundane or extravagant, let them be known.
Do you have a theory as to how we both didn't notice the phone right there in my lap the whole time? (It wasn't there, guys.)

I... have no idea how that could have happened... were you wearing anything with folds? Or a lot of extra fabric (like a skirt) that might have hidden the phone?
That's the only thing I can think of that might have cause that to happen.
As for stories of the weird and unexplained.
My sister and I argue over which one of us is psychic. I can occasionally pick the next song to play on the radio and read my sister's mind. (We are not related by blood... we're just sisters in every way but blood)
She has managed to read my mind... while we were both at work.. thousands of miles apart. Then later we started talking about the same idea we had and while I seemed to have half the idea... she had the other half.
We do this often enough that when it happens we tend to tease each other about the other being psychic.

No, it was a rather tight-fitting shirt. I tried to fold my shirt over it and put it under my shirt while still in my lap so that my tummy couldn't feel it, but to no avail.
And just to clear things up, I'm not uber fat or anything, so it didn't get sucked into one of my belly rolls x} I have large breasts, though. But, still. My underboobs don't suck up and hide objects (another option my fiance suggested)

That is weird... are you sure you don't have something something like subspace? Or other space? Were you can make things disappear?;)
Well if you ever figure out how it happened, please let me know... now I'm curious.

I have the same problem. I'll look where I know I left something and not find it. Then, I'll search all through a dozen drawers and the rest of the house before coming back to check again. I'll find it in the exact place I looked the first time.
Creepy story time: I was staying with a friend in Pennsylvania last August. She and I were sitting downstairs with her 3-year-old son and watching TV. All of a sudden, we heard running water upstairs. My friend rushed upstairs because she thought the toilet was overflowing. She came back down a minute later and said that both of the faucets of the bathtub had been turned on full blast. No one else was in the house but us.
Edit: The post below also reminded me of something else. Twice, I've had my sense of smell overwhelmed by spearmint when there was no spearmint around. Once was in my bedroom, and the other was in a hallway on my college campus. I don't eat anything with spearmint in it, nor does anyone in my house. When I smelled it on campus, no one was around me.

Ive heard 1 thing and seen another.
The first was my goddaughter. She was around 2 and she could speak well, she was talking to the wall in the corner of the room, so i asked who she was talking to and she said the man that used to live here. Proper spooky.
The other is my Auntie heard a noise downstairs at 3am and went into her kitchen thinking something had fallen over (she used to live alone.) She went in and she said it was as though someone was blowing cigarette smoke right in her face, so overpowering was the smell she thought she was going to be sick. 5 minutes later it was totally gone and there was nobody in the house, no windows open and she doesnt smoke.

That happens to me alot when I'm looking for something can't find and it been lying in front of me the whole time. It's like I don't see it because I'm so busy looking for it. Maybe that was what happen to you and your fiance too?
I have a ongoing mystery right now which is that my homephone is missing. I can't find it anywhere! And I even cleaned the whole apartment in a desperate try to find it, but it's still missing. Maybe it's just my cat that put it in a corner where I can't reach or that a friend to me got it with him by mistake last tie ha was visiting... Or it just got telepotred into a nother dimension and I'm never going to find it again.. =/

I know the feeling.
When I was about fifteen, my mom and i were driving and I swear I heard a chicken clucking. xD; So now whenever we talk, we both randomly make a chicken sound. >>;
Another was, the other night. I woke up to myself saying 'they dont know they're dead'.
And I sat up and something tugged my hair and said 'yes we do.'
I turned on my light to see if my step mom was pulling a prank, since it was a little later then I usually slept. Nope, I was all alone.
/Creepy/.

Wow, these are some odd instances.
My fiance now thinks he just has some portal following him taking up random items. His mom was looking for a Ziploc Bag she had just put down while making a sandwich to put into it. All three of us looked through that small kitchen, on counters, on things we'd opened, including the refrigerator and dish washer. We couldn't find it, so she gave up and grabbed another. I was getting ready to cook, and when I was going back to his room, I saw a Ziploc Bag where he had been standing when she realized she had lost it.
He said he saw it when he was walking out back to his room, which happened after she had given up... so I'm not so sure it ever "disappeared." But it's odd that it happened two days in a row.

Maybe these kinds of things have been happening all along but the two of you didn't notice until the episode with the cell phone. Now that you're aware maybe they'll happen all the time.

Wow, that's odd. I never had any weird experiences like so. There was this one time while I was on my computer, I heard one of the advertisement for emoticons go "Oh my god!" and at that time, I never knew. I was slightly creeped out, wondering where it came from. But eventually when it did it a second time, I realized. xD

That is really weird. o_o Maybe your boyfriend does have a portal that follows him around, sucking up objects. Not logical, but I think it makes sense. :D
I've had something speak to me when I was the only one in the room, and everyone else was in the other side of the house. And we lived three stories up at the time, so I know it couldn't have been a friend pranking me. D: Of course, it makes me seem like the biggest geek to ever walk the earth, so I haven't talked about it. XD;
Almost a year ago now, I had been reading the Naruto manga to my brother while my mom was packing- we were getting ready to move at the time, and the room we were in was almost completely bare- when my brother got up to get a glass of water. He left the room and I kept reading a few pages ahead, because it was an arch I liked. All of a sudden, I heard this really whispery, female voice in my ear say "Can you see Naruto?"
My first thought was pretty much, "God, I've been playing to much kingdom hearts again. o_o Maybe that combined with reading IS unhealthy." XD; But yeah. This is actually the first time I've mentioned it because it makes me look like such a huge geek. XD; Made worse by the fact that I like really popular shows and games, which I'm actually self conscious about. @_@;
There was also one time that I swear I heard some giant dinosaur walk by outside my window. I've also run into the smelling a really powerful scent when it isn't there, like with the spearmint and cigarette smoke mentioned.
But I'm the only one who ever hears or sees this stuff, so when I ask my family if they heard/saw anything strange they think I'm even more insane then they already think I am. D:

One of my old friends said he could do that. I still don't believe it to this day, and he hasn't had a chance to prove it. He said he'd been able to stay under water for half an hour because he could do this sort of slow breathing. Maybe you guys have enough hairs in your nose that air gets stuck in there for you to breath. xD lol, kidding.
