Here's what I think they should have:
The school should teach each instrument as a skill and as you play of course you get better and with each rank change you learn new songs... there should be like three small songs for each level of mastery and of course. Hidden songs that can be learned through hidden quests or finding legendary bards.
I also think if they have another patch they should include other instruments that are era appropriate. Of course being a skilled bard should have it's diplomatic advantages. The more skilled performances you do that are quest oriented the better NPCs and such will like you.

Would be cool if we could get a 'Bard' talent tree. Like the starting point being the ability to play an instrument, and from there it would split off into branches where one specializes in a particular instrument (flute, banjo, etc).
I would love to play as a Bard.

I think the reason why they didn't do that was because it was really similar to the Fable games and it was a little childish there. Of course I always thought it'd be interesting for them to be able to play instruments but it wouldn't really help the character's storyline, and the musical skill would be one of the most useless skills to obtain within the game. unless those instruments were involved in helping out with the puzzles in the game.
I think if the Elder Scrolls did decide to do something like that they'd have to revamp the story line a bit where the NPC's would know of your "good" and "bad" deeds, but yet again that'd make this game a lot more similar to Fable.

I agree, a Bard talent tree sounds exactly what I was thinking about! That's the best way to put it.
@Lockhead Electra - The puzzles aspect of the game would be where it would fit in mainly, and also for aesthetic value and have the ability to train followers in bardic skills fitting a more supportive role.

Yeah, running around killing things got a bit old after a while.
My current favorite quest is still the one from the Dark Brotherhood where you can have the girl add a Giant's Toe into the soup that goes into the fake Emperor's stomach though. That was just hilarious.

It definitely does, I think when Elder Scrolls online comes to fruition these abilities will be more appreciated. After playing dark brotherhood a little, I couldn't go further just because that's not the kind of person I am and even if these characters are ficticious, I cannot bring myself to slay them... not saying anyone else is. I just recently finished, Oblivion.

Well, I don't mind killing others too much. I just really hate killing the people from my sanctuary though. In Oblivion I used one of the spells from the mod 'Fun with Magic' and resurrected all the members as soon as I killed them, so even though I've completed the questline, they still wander around the sanctuary, alive and well. :)
Except Lucien, since he was a bit too chopped up for me to repair. -_-
I'm a bit upset that in Skyrim the sanctuary gets destroyed again. These guys need a break, seriously.
Not happy that I can't marry whoever I want though. The people available for marriage aren't really my type.

OMG OMG! I love skyrim!! I made a wood elf master theif. She had maxed enchanting and maxed blacksmithing. Not to mention archery. I had just made her a bow that had two awesome enchantments.... then my boyfriend decided to delete my save for her.. I wanted to kill him.. Still do in fact! But it was an accident. I guess >.< He was just mad my toon was way more bad-ass than his warrior.

Haha, I think I downloaded a mod for playing as a Dremora, though it's been a while since I played...but ever since downloading it, I haven't played as any other race. I have a special love for Dremoras.
Blacksmithing is pretty easy to max out if you have enough materials...I'm nearly always hunting for more ingots. Need to start practicing Enchanting...

That is hillarious! Yea they need a variety of types so people can at least marry someone they possibly could be attracted too--lol. Did you see the third downloadable content coming soon?

I know there's a way to use console codes to get someone to marry you, but I haven't been able to try it on a Dremora yet. xD (yeah, I'm totally marrying a Dremora if possible, considering I'm playing Dremora myself and I like Dremoras...)
There's a third downloadable event coming up? :o What is it? I haven't played Skyrim in a while, been distracted by Mene and other things. :o
Still need to go get Dawnguard. I wonder if my brother has bought it yet or not so I can leech it off him...o 3o
Yeeeah. At least this time my favorite Dark Brotherhood member doesn't end up dead if I don't want him dead (which I don't). xD

Yes the third downloadable content I think is called Dragonbourne? It's about another dragonborn and perhaps the ability to acquire a dragon mount? It sounds really good.

Honestly? I have a love/hate relationship with this game. This game is beautiful and amazing, but for a while it was nigh on unplayable because of the glitches. I know all games have their quirks, but this was just downright crippling. I had to shelf it for a while, but eventually I came back. It plays smoother now, so I can't really complain. As for what I had? I most often was a Dark Elf assassin-type build. I oftimes carried more poisons than healing salves and my sneak was incredibly high. My main weapons was of course, bow and dagger- though I also used a sword for when I was clumsy and blew my cover. x.x I also dabbled in some destruction magic- only for Runes, though. I really loved to set runes down in caves, pop an arrow off against the wall, which drew the enemy....then boom! Runes were also good for protecting my cover when I happened to get caught. 8D Set one down behind me and run, then turn and pop them with arrows.
oh and I was a villian. I was terrible. c.c I have absolutely no shame about it. I killed innocents and I enjoyed assaulting Vigilants of Stendarr. I took offense to them since I'm very fond of the Daedra. Boethiah is my lady. <3

Oh wow, I'd love a dragon mount that I can actually ride instead of just a cutscene where the dragon tosses me into some weird ruins to get to Valhalla. (can't remember the actual name of it in Skyrim, been too long since I last played it xDD;;)
Hope we'll get more new shouts too. <3
lol PrincessBane!! xDDD
Yeah, definitely not fond of the Vigliants of Stendarr myself. :\ I didn't bother killing them since with Dawnguard they'll get destroyed anyway. I just steal everything from them. :DDD
Sheogorath's my favorite. <3

I cannot make an evil character, even if it is only fiction... I cannot make myself do dark brotherhood, although I watch others... my morals are too strong... (not saying others don't possess any, most of my characters reflect myself lol) I usually love to play a all mighty powerful arch mage!

My characters are usually kind of like me, with an interest in things that most other people avoid, like the Dremora. xDD
I have a weird obsession with Dremora. I loves them, even if I killed thousands of them in Oblivion and the four guarding Mehrunes Dagon's shrine. >.>; I'm also a severe kleptomaniac in the game. I can't stop taking stuff! Especially food and alchemy parts! I have an insane amount of food that I cooked in my storage shelves at home. o.O
I'm fiercely protective of the people and faction that I like though, so I usually leave their stuff alone and kill/knock down people who are against them. D:<

The only other character build I had aside from my assassin was a conjurer/giant sword wielding beast-thing. I'd summon my Dremora and hack n slash away at everything. >> I really am terrible...I swear I'm not this bad irl, but in games, the dark side comes out. I'm awful in Dark Souls, too. lol. Methinks I enjoy hunting down the guilty for Master Gwyndolin too much?

Better in the games than in real life, as games can be a great outlet to express all kinds of feelings lol

lol in real life, I'm quite the pacifist. Just in any kind of work of fiction....whether it be my own personal writings or video games, my characters turn alittle dark. Now, not all of them are. I usually make one evil character and one good. lol. But I think Skyrim...it's way more fun to be evil in Skyrim. D: Though I was very passionately in love with the Companions. They're not evil, right? lol I had my character marry Aela.

@Kole: You mean the one that gave you the option to run an errand for him to free Anaxes (sp?) or fight him? I like the Valkynaz the best because their hair looks the best IMHO. xD And because I get to strip them nekkid for their valuable armor from the non-mages...
I think I married Farkas in a game...and then he completely creeped me out by calling me 'darling' and stuff in conversation. Those words...just don't suit him. xD

I didn't think you were evil or anything...lol-- I'm just really hard cut I guess... although I have had moments especially in Oblivion where I killed soldiers-- especially during the part in Cheydinhall where that dark elf gets killed because he stands up to the soldier. I ended up going on a killing spree to avenge his death lol....
@Antogonist - Yes, that's the one. I was always frustrated with the mages thinking at first I would find some powerful mage robes... I ended up creating some pretty powerful robes as I like walking around in robes as I play a mage for the majority. In Oblivion I ended up doing Knights of the Nine! I really liked that quest and of course the Shimmering Isles were fascinating and so rich and full of color. I was kind of sad to see sheogareth go.
Elder Scrolls online will be coming soon--- so this should be quite interesting. I'm going to look up and see which provinces you can travel to-- I'm guessing Morrowind, Cyrrodel, Skyrim, and from the looks possibly Elswhyr?? I did watch a ten minute trailer and explanatation of it and it looks really interesting and in the spirit of Skyrim graphics -- maybe even just a tad more refined... I guess we will all soon see.

Lol....Very nice. Sometimes, they need...."purging", as the Brotherhood would say. : 3 I still remember one time I watched Shadowmere fight and kill and Ancient Dragon. It was then that I knew he was the pony for me. D: Is the Elder Scrolls online for Ps3 too? D: That sounds pretty amazing, really.

actually I'm not one hundred percent sure, just type it in on google and lots of stuff will come up. It looks exciting, it would make sense to put it on the Playstation Three and the Xbox Three sixty--- but hey you really don't know about the makers, but I Bethesda has yet to truly let me down unlike Square Enix, or Konami and their reboot of Castlevania where Trevor Belmont basically becomes Alucard which is absurd... they ruined the series for me and I will not play it now.
