i feel exactly the same way as star. although, Canadian horror is a pretty big thing. there are a lot of candian horror things that were highly influential in the movie world. I feel like a lot of Canadians are big on horror. Maybe its just that all my friends also like horror.... lol.

Which is weird I don't like it. Some of my favorite Supernatural episodes are the more dark/horror type ones.

star: have you seen PontyPool? its so freaken good! and the main actor is from around where i live!!! you should totally watch it!!! XD ... you know... if you like horror and all.... also, Pontypool is a real place in Ontario! Its a small town in the Kawartha Lakes area. which makes the movie even creepier!!

maybe you have been watching the wrong kind of horror movies. I loved horror as a kid, but then as a teen i hated it. I realized as an adult that the reason for the switch was the type of horror that i was watching. i like comedy horror and suspense horror. i do not like gore fest like chainsaw masacre or saw. but suspenseful conceptual types like cube i love. i also love canadian horror and shy away from american ones. even when its just the american version of a candian plot. (like in the case of cube and saw... pretty much the same plot with mild variations)

i used to work at blockbusters and thats where i really got to see my preferences unfold. it was fascinating being able to watch so many movies as part of my job and having to really analize what i liked about something in order to sell it.

if you are looking for recommendations, i have a plethora to select from in my head that i would love to share with you.

haha i also just pick titles if they sound good or if the covers that are shown look interesting some are very depressingly not as good as their prediessors. like 'I Will always know what you did last su mmer' they went and turned it into a.. 'grimces' bad friggen B rate horror movie. its like 'NOOO' i mean two was bad enough, but to make it out like a urban legened joke was so depressing.

lol. yeah thats def not my kind of horror movie. i like the evil dead series. they are full of awesome. and i like Cube, but Cube 2 was horrible. but Cube is about as gruesome as i can handle. i prefer the power of the imagination as opposed to witnessing the mess. i also prefer prosthetic and puppets to CG. i feel like the reactions are more real with prosthetic and puppets.

speaking of puppets... you ever seen the subspecies series? it stars of great and ends with puppets. lol

I didn't think i'd run across anyone else who'd seen the series.. everyones into the 'newer' vampire series. some of which really really suck or are really really dorky in my opinion 'shrugs'

i agree wholeheartedly! you have no idea how refreshing it is to talk to a horror fan who has seen that series. it does not get the recognition it deserves.

so how did you enjoy warm bodies?
