Yep, I'm a really big knitter/crocheter/sewer. I like working with textiles because it's something fun to keep my hands busy and I end up with a nice finished product at the end. It makes me feel really accomplished. :lol:

For a while now I've been trying to knit myself a pair of socks. But since I'm self-taught, I really don't know how to turn a heel and I can't find anyone to help me. If I don't get it this week, I'm just going to go to a local knitting group meeting and bug the people there until the help me.

I had a friend that used to crochet. When she had to make a curve, she literally finished up a piece, made the other piece, then just connected them together. Then again, I could be wrong and it could be a very different process. That's just what I recall.

I can't knit or crochet for my life. I did sew once at school- made a pillow. It was pretty fun, but also a bit difficult for me. I'm more of a writer than an artist in other respects. I'm orally/audio inclined more then visual. I'm great with music, though!

And alright, as long as you don't mind chatting here then it's all good to me. I just don't want to be causing problems, y'know? Actually, that's the last thing I want!

Question for you... Am I blind? I don't really see a writing contest, and I am almost positive there is one I'm missing, but I can't find it. Or is it just me being weird? xP

Er... Secondary question I love to ask: Any way I can be helpful to the site? Helping is fun 8D

I don't believe we have a writing contest this time around. We try to rotate contests so that everyone doesn't get bored. :yes:

If you'd like to be helpful, it's usually enough just to be respectful and follow the site's rules. Sometimes you can check out the Info Desk and answer questions for people (as long as you know the answers, of course). Or you could visit the Fresh Meat forum and welcome new users. That's always appreciated!

Kay. I always am looking for unique ways to be helpful. I love helping (maybe a bit too much sometimes), so I love asking that question. So... Thank you for answering for me! And isn't that first part something you should do no matter what? That's not necessarily "helping"- that's just common sense, in my opinion. It'd be silly not to follow the rules. So far, all I can do regarding that is report things that aren't with the rules (At least, if I feel it doesn't seem to. Sometimes I have to debate it first). I will eventually find a way to be helpful in more ways~ It's my hobby 8D

Hm... I know it's a bit late, but is there a way I could work in a contest? o-o;; I was really wanting to do a writing contest but I didn't see one. If not it's fine~ I'm just curious! It's definitely a good thing to rotate contests. I just know for people like me, it's hard to do the art-based contests xP

If you head over to the Event Contests and Giveaways forum, you could always host your own contest. But I'm afraid that all the ones in this forum are staff run. :yes:

I just feel bad 'cause I don't have anything I can give really yet anyway >< So maybe I should wait until next year ;-; Besides- I like writing so I'd end up wanting to participate xD Bad idea. Nevermind.

Thank you so very much Knerd, I was trying my best ,and I am a fan of the mayor here, so I thought it would be awesome to try to do a card from him, and I always play the fangirl game too so it seemed appropriate. ^-^

Well, I just spent the last of my Halloween contest winnings, so I guess it's time to enter another contest and cross my fingers! Now, to get ideas...

Indeed I mean we have nothing but time to make it, so I can't wait to see how everyone makes one, since this is my first time entering the contests here, I was so excited I entered this one, and the pimp my sleigh, I wanted to try the avatar one, and trivia, but I am no where near ready for the avatar, and I don't think I would be able to do the trivia to well either.
