"Merin" she muttered to herself. After a little more walking she stopped at a door, before opening it. "This will be your room" she said, motioning for Merin to go inside.

Merin let himself be ushered in. It was like the rest of the house very fine, with a touch of creepy. There was a large canopy bed with blood red drapes and a crushed velvet blanket in a slightly darker shade. Plush chairs, a fireplace, ornate vases.

he looked around warily, wondering just what he was getting himself into.

"I hope that you will be comfortable in here" she said, she got a good look at him "We'll have to get you some different clothes, but that can wait until tomorrow, for now, you can rest. There is a bathroom just down this corridoor." She turned around "Now, I have much to do. Goodnight" she said, before walking out.

He opened his mouth, but it just hung there. He had a million and yet zero questions. He wanted to know about her, this place, what was in store for him, more about who he was supposedly was and, well he also didn't' want to ask his 'master'.

He sighed and went to investigate the bathroom. A wash would be good. He drew himself a bath in the huge tub. the steam rising into the air. He unshed his clothes and eased himself in. He felt his muscles relaxing and he closed his eyes.

Beatrice made her way back into the grand entrance hall, before going through one of the doors. She entered a large library. Books lined every wall and a ladder leaned next to the door. In the middle were to large, velvet seats and a small coffee table. All on an ornate rug. The rug led to the door and around the edge of the room. The rest of the floor was black marble.

He started to become a bit wrinkly so he pulled himself out of the tub. He found a towl and wrapped it around his waist. He looked at his clothes piled on the floor. He hated to put on something already dirty so he decided to look around his room and see if there was anything else that could work.

((I had a hard time choosing. I also like singing and dancing, but I'm terrible at both, I happen to be a good cook though, so that was the obvious option))

She walked around the edge of the library for a minute before taking a book off one of the shelves. She then went over to one of the chairs in the middle. "If I'll be keeping him, I'll be needing a little more research on Light Rays" she said to herself, sitting down and beginning to read.

He found a robe in a wardrobe and pulled it on. It would do for the night he supposed.

"now to survey my escape routes...." He took a tour around his room. He was high up enough that going out the windows would be tricky. There didn't seem to be much handholds to help him get down either. He checked the door that he came in...It was locked. There was one other door, but that led to a small closet. So there was the main room that constituted part bedroom part sitting room, then the bathroom. He looked out at the scenery. He had no idea where he was and unfortunately he had his eyes closed most of the ride so he didn't know what direction they had come from. He sighed. It would take a bit more planning to escape. Rescue was a hope, but nothing he could depend upon.

After a few minutes, Beatrice felt she had read enough, and put the book back carefully. She decided to check on the boy. She clicked the key into the lock of his bedroom door before knocking three times.

Merin was inspecting the drapes strength when there was a knock on his door. He had failed to miss the click of the lock, but the raps where easily heard. He was unsure of what to do. Personally he didn't want to see anyone and of course since his door was locked he had no way of being able to open it anyway.

He stood beside the bed and realized he was only in a robe. He pulled it tighter around him and tried not to blush.

Beatrice turned the handle, waited a moment, just in case, then opened the door. When she saw the boy in nothing but the robe, the tiniest bit of colour hit her cheeks. "I apologise if I was intruding. I was merely checking that you were ok... can't have my servants too unhappy" she said quickly before turning away.

"...uh...okay?" He stood confused. What was the point if she came in only to leave... Was she really checking on him? It wasn't that long enough for him to get into trouble or try and free himself. This lady confused him more and more. But then again she wasn't even human. She was a vampire...He shuddered as he thought about it. It had been one roller coaster of a day, and night wasn't his favorite time. He always felt a bit weak and a bit irritable when the sun went down. Like as if all the energy went out of him. He wasn't much of a night owl.He yawned slightly and eyed the bed. Perhaps he should just sleep on it.

"I should go. I have important buisness to attend to" She was trying to act normal, but her voice wavered a little. She walked out, slamming the door behind her before running off to her own bedroom. She had forgotten to lock his door this time though.

he sighed and went to the bed. Definitely time for sleep. he rolled around a bit, the thing was huge!

"Well at least it's not some damp dark cell...Ah what am I Mr positive now?" He grumbled at himself. He couldn't let himself feel comfortable. He was a prisoner he reminded himself. But soon he just couldn't think about anything anymore and he dozed off.

He snoozed, the stress of yesterday keeping him asleep a lot longer than he normally would be. Usually once the sun was up, so was he. he dozed dreaming of figures dancing in the light. He couldn't really make them out, one seemed in particular calling to him. he strained to reach the figure. A woman, wit a kind smile, she seemed to call to him, welcoming... He reached out only to have everything turn black. He was caught in the darkness. He whimpered in his sleep and tossed and turned as the dream became a nightmare.

Beatrice had been walking past his room when she thought she heard something. She pressed her ear to his door. "Merin?" she called through the door, knocking sharply "Are you okay?"

He snapped up, coming to all at once. He panted and looked around wildly..... It took him a minute to remember where he was..... It all finally came rushing back to him, and with the fear of his position and from the dream he couldn't help the tears and sobs that crashed upon him.


((she would just go in wouldn't she?Instead of asking I mean...She's his master and it's her house.... I dunno her character seems to shift from once extreme to the other....))

Beatrice pushed the door open "Merin! I asked a question" she snapped. So much for showing sympathy she thought. She saw him crying and merely rolled her eyes "Oh for crying out loud" she muttered "Look; you're going to be here for a while, you may as well get used to it!"

Merin tried to hide his face and stop crying. He Hadn't wanted to break, it was just.... Gah! He tore from the bed and went to a curtained window. He grabbed the fabric and opened them to reveal....Nothing. No light shown through them. There was something on the windows preventing the sunlight, or perhaps it was fog. He couldn't tell. he wank to his knees.

"Where's the sun?" He whimpered.

"You really think I'm going to walk around during the daytime with the sun beaming in?" she raised an eyebrow "It poses a problem though. Unfortunately for me you Light Rays need the sun to survive. So I've arranged that you are to spend some of your time in the gardens, helping the gardener."

"Oh..." he pouted...Light only when he was allowed to see it. He felt like whimpering and running through the halls and outside this crazy mansion.

"When Can I go and be outside?" He felt weak, he always felt happier when he could see the sunlight, and was more alive when it shown upon his face. His Foster Dad always said his Mother liked the sunlight too, he would then get this far off look in his eyes as he remebered her. She was beautiful and perfect by what his father had told him. Perhaps she was one of these light rays...

"Two hours after lunch" she said simply "Now get dressed. If you are to be staying, I'll have to show you around. It would be annoying if you got lost"

"Oh..." He seemed to deflate even more. Then he looked at the robe he was wearing and blushed.

"Uhm are there any other clothes I can wear besides the ones I came in? They're kinda dirty..." He hated asking anything from his captor, and he pouted sullenly.

"You're right. We shall have to get you some new clothes... for now you'll have to borrow some. I'll go and check if there is anything spare" she said before walking out. She was glad to be out of there. For some reason she always got nervous when she saw him in nothing but the robe. She may have been a cruel vampire, but she was still a teenage girl.
