I used to love Barbie Dolls. My Barbies were like Soap Opera stars though (because my gram always watched Soap Operas)... So... I was a bit strange as a child, because my BArbies had some major Jerry Springer-like issues. (And I got the idea from shows like "All my Children" and "One life to Live" or something like that)

I actually want to get some Barbies (hopefully cheraply) so I can make them clothes, change/cut thier hair... And things like that. Is that strange?

I threw most of my Barbies out, but I still have my Generation Girl ones (Tori, Chelsea, and Blaine) and a couple that are more collector's items then anything, like Angel Barbie and Millenium Barbie. Oh, and I still have my Queen Amidala dolls because Amidala is the shit.

OMG and I had that Hollywood Barbie that HappyStarr linked to! Strange though...I didn't have any others on that page, and I'm a child of the 90s! They need to post more. XD

I used to basically collect all sorts of dolls when I was younger.

I was mainly interested in Bratz and MyScene, and I still happen to have my entire Bratz collection. I did have a lot of Barbies as well, though. I mostly just used them to act out stories and such. I was also very interested in doing doll repainting when I was younger, but, being only about ten at the time, of course none of my attempts turned out that well. But anyway, that's what I ended up using a lot of my Barbies for, while I would try to keep my other dolls in as good of condition as possible.

I've sold most of my Barbies by now, though, except for a few that I painted to look like characters in stories that I wrote.

See, my Barbie's aren't worth selling. I took out their hair from their boxed hair style, I kinda ruined their clothes to the point I like them, and A lot of their stuff is missing. But I'm not worried because my sister wants them for when she has a baby. I just hope it's a girl and not a boy. Ha! That would be a waist.

:( I have serious issues because of the fact that I still play with them every once in a while. -_-

Umm...I had a problem getting the clothes on the Barbies. I liked to change their clothes to what I liked but, I just gave up and had a naked pile of Barbies under my bed. Sometimes the head popped off and their neck broke. What a sad fate those doll endured.
I only had two Kens but, their heads fell off. So I substituted my Britney Spears Barbie as Ken. I had some messed up romance plots.

I was also one of the lucky ones that received a Sailor Moon doll. They had all five of them including Tuxedo Mask. I really wanted Sailor Moon but, they were all sold except Sailor Venus. I don't know where she is now but I've located her gloves....

I ad a ton, they were so fun :) but one year we had this garage sale and this grumpy lady came and asked me how much for them, I (think I) said 30$ (barbies are expensive and this was a big box of them! >_<) and she convinced me that was wayyyy to much and then I sold them to her for 10$, she was so mean, I was 7! I missed them rite away.

Rosa: I've always wanted a Sailor Moon Barbie. My mom didn't like the show, so she never bought me one. :/

Neko: I WOULD TOO! O.o

Ah Barbies xD now those were the good days.

Sadly I don't remember much of my Barbie days, but from what I was told I guess I didn't like them at first. My dad just pulled out a box for me, it was duct taped shut, and when I cut all that tape away I was looking down at a Barbie graveyard. Dozens of Barbie heads, arms, and legs lay strewn about this box. At first I was almost ashamed of my younger self, then I heard the stories and thought it was a bit funnier.

One particular Barbie was dedicated to a tornado I'd seen on tv. I'd chopped her hair off, painted her arm red, colored on her face to make it look as if she'd been sucked into a vortex. That one didn't have any legs. As weird as it was I thought "well at least I dedicated it to the people who survived..."

Today I just leave them alone, dolls creep me out juuust a little.

I never played with dolls or action figures as a kid... mostly legos and videogames and stuff

I always took two barbies while taking a bath. I made them swim in their "pool" and get a tan (light bulb).

One time I found one of my Ken dolls, and a friend was at my house. There was also this little tube of brown play dough. I took a paper cup from the kitchen and we pretended that Ken was taking a crap in the cup. XD

-little late entering this forum..but what the heck?-

Happystarr: I had the teacher barbie! :D
Canielele: OMG, they did have swimming barbies you know that right? I remember when I was in the bath tub, my brother came in and took the ken I had and flushed him down the toilet. I cried.. just because he ruined the doll..and made sure the toilet was clog.

I also took my brother's action toys to fill in for the guys.. Oh power rangers you really were so much better than Ken.
I remember getting the Britney Spears Barbie..thing. :d I was a big fan of Britney spears up until she was lip syncing thing...That's when I accidentally broke her "look alike" doll.

To answer the forums questions:
I always hated ken.. He looked too gay for me, especially in Toy Story 3. It proved my point. I never liked Barbie, I liked her friends just never barbie. I was more a fan of her friend named Teresa, since she had my name. <3 I used to be obsessed with collecting them, used to play with them up until I was in 6th grade. However, I started to collect Bratz after that.. :o

I remember I'd make them wear revealing clothes because I thought you had to do that to be pretty. :gonk:
I'd also draw with pink marker all over their faces to make them look.. interesting.
They're probaly a spider trap now.

Flink had quite a few barbies growing up. Though she wasn't all the interested in them, her family just bought them for her because she's female, no other reason. But she had a wild imagination, so she always factored them into her little world. Her favorite one wasn't an actual Barbie, but was a Jem doll from Jem and the Holograms, she had two blue shiny things as her eyes, which Flink always found to be awesome.

She had a few ken dolls, maybe one or two. But her favorite one was one she got who has actual "hair" and not the hard plastic stuff. Flink LOVED to style his hair.

Though, to be perfectly honest she played with her toy horses more often than not. Curse Disney and its talking animals!

Woahh...I bet I would have had a Jem doll if my mom had found them. *thinks* Wait. No. I wouldn't. She'd have bought them and kept them for herself.

*sigh* barbies... I used to love them. I played all the time, and I still like them, though I'd never admit it. Whenever I see one in the store I just get this urge to buy it! @.@ Though I never do... Anywho, the point is, I gave all mine away to younger girls who liked them much more than I. ^.^ And I thought I had lost all of them forever, but then a couple months ago, I found a Bratz doll. See, I thought they were the new best thing when I was younger. I got a few, and absolutely loved them, Even if they aren't up to par with barbie. (I see that now) So, when I found it, I cut off all her hair, took a fabric marker to her, and turned her into an Emo Bratz!!! :D The point is, It was awesome, And she is my new favorite Doll. ^.^ <3
