Yea...Ive been looking for people that had ALOT of likes. But they are probably dead threads that some person has about 40 likes on.

I kind of think it's better if people don't know who is in the lead, as people are supposed to genuinely like your thread and enjoy it/find it interesting, not just have liked it because you asked them, you know?

This is about having created a good thead, not just seeing how any people you can get to like a thread even if they're not even read it ><

I've liked several threads since this contest started, but I definitely wouldn't like someone's thread just because they asked me to.

Jelly has a point. It might also make people go more one way or another, you know? Like if they see its the highest, they'll go there, or because its the highest, they'll avoid it. It should kind of be non-biased.

I've mainly liked friends threads. And Vixen's because i'm a sucker for free stuff. >_>;; I needed gold for the new events. ><;; I need to browse around and see if there are any other threads worth liking. Probably lots up there to check out.

Out of curiosity, is it just me or did some threads listed in the top 10 announcement get remade? >.>

A bit iffy on the aspect of a non-Menewshan item being offered. But I do like that Menewsha is trying to reach out to real life online communities. The whole aspect of winning by amount of Likes is ... iffy as well because people can offer incentives in exchange for a button click. Although I cannot think of another way to get people to chat or flock heavily without offering incentives.

I hate the fact that people are being so uncivil about this contest. It's ridiculous. ._.;

Personally, I don't like the fact that people do not have an account can like threads. It brings people to the site, yes but it does not make people stick around. They're just going to like the thread because a friend asked them to and never come back. I personally don't like the whole bribing people to like threads either. I mean it's a good idea on the other hand to get people more into the forums but all the drama from it is not a good thing. I think that if Mene does a contest like this again there needs to be a better set of rules.

We've learnt a lot from this contest. I suppose I could be uncharitable and say that whatever we do there will always be a small percentage of people who will "abuse" it, for want of a better word. Because that is what always happens. Sadly, unless we can see into the future we can't predict what that small percentage will do, so we can't second guess when developing concepts for contests and so on. We always try to factor greed into the equation, but it's just not possible to think of everything, we can only store up knowledge gained from past experience and know what not to do again.

jellysundae: Well, at least there is something to be learned from all this. Also, it's hard to quantify greed. Like with this contest, the prize is a physical, desired product. I figured that this would create more greed and desire for the prize than say some pixels. ^_^;
