@Massage: I have books to tide me over, but the ones I mailed up I read on my trip and I wanted to put them on my list. Also there were some new manga and comics that I want to read. xD

I'm actually really excited because I got a signed copy of 1001 Nights of Snowfall by Bill Willingham. I didn't notice at first when I picked it up because the cover is silver and he signed it in silver sharpie. xD

@leenie: I love retold fairy tales. I have ever since I read "Beauty" by Robin McKinley, which was the first book I ever bought for myself with my own money.

@Shadow: I just read White as Snow, which is Tanith Lee's version of Snow White. Retold fairy tales are the best (most of the time, there some are bad ones).

@Massage: I know! xD I'm freaked because I fear it will be lost in the mail. T_T
Along with some of my clothes. xD

@Dream_and_Die: Ohh. Haha, I just remembered something that was in the paper... or was it on the news. Ah, whatever.
Some lady got a letter from a friend who sent it when she was in Hawaii or something... twenty years after she sent it.

I remember because I love the book and still have it, and we were on vacation when I bought it. We were in this odd little store that had books lining all the walls, and clothes and a mixture of other oddments in the middle of the room...

I remember the first CD I ever got, but not the first one I bought with my own money.
The first CD I ever owned was... Britney Spears' first album... >>
I WAS SEVEN AND IT WAS THE NINETIES. LEAVE ME ALONE.
(My CD collection in the 90s consisted of two Britney Spears CDs, one Backstreet boys CD, one Nsync CD, two ATeens CDs, and Now... 4, I think. How embarrassing. Of all the good music that came out of the nineties, I wasn't aware of a bit of it until the nineties were well over.)

My first CD was...Vitamin C.
She's pretty cool, I still think so. Better than Backstreet Boys or whatever everyone else was listening to.

The first CD I bought myself was a Korn album because my parents wouldn't get it for me. xD
The first book I bought with my own money was Shelters of Stone. Once again my parents wouldn't get it for me. Something about "mating" and me being ten didn't sit well with them. xD

I never got into Hansen. I was aware of them vaguely, but not their music. I'm probably the only person who was around in the 90s who does not know Mmbop and could not recognize it. xD
Although there was one time when a bad, short haircut was growing out and I had on no makeup that I looked in the mirror and realized I looked like a lost Hansen brother.

I'm kinda embarrsed because I was all about Hanson... it was bad to the point that I was collecting pictures of them.. every picure I could find. I was pratically obsessed...and then I got older and my mom started liking them. I gave her all my CD's. LOL.

@massage - there are dozens of odd stores around here, so i could pretty much skip down to downtown and find something interesting.

@cherry - ahahaha the first cd i got was the first britney spears album as well. XD
your 90s collection looks a little similar to mine. though without the a*teens and different now cds.
i can't check, though, because i have them in a little box in my closet.

you poor girl. looking like a hanson brother. MUST'VE BEEN HORRIFYING.

@music discussion - i do have some good 90s music in my collection that is on display, though.
sheryl crow, macy gray, no doubt, gorillaz, ima robot, enigma, daft punk, bjork, alicia keys, and avril lavigne (you know, her first album. the good one)
bweehehe. i do have tapes of spice girls, b*witched, and uhhh, raffi. XDDD and other stuff, but those, too are in my closet somewhere.
ohgawd, hanson.
SPEAKING OF MUSIC, i got a new LP yesterday, which brings me to a grand total of FIVE LPs. xp
i have to use my mom's turn table (since i don't have one of my own), but that's downstairs with the rest of the family aaannnddddd. DDDDD:
anywho, my LPs are:
queen - a night at the opera
the blues brothers - briefcase full of blues
steve martin - a wild and crazy guy
an invader zim LP with the theme on a-side and the planets battle music on the b-side 8D
dir en grey - uroboros. it is sexy.

@feyona - at one point hanson was fun, but i never collected anything of them.
BUT I DID SEE ONE OF THEIR CDS AT THE STORE THE OTHER DAY. O_____o
ahaha you gave them to your mother. XD
collecting pictures... i have autographed pictures of daizystripper. does that count as being obsessed? x3

Feyona - I was like that, but later in my childhood, and not with Hansen.
Good Charlotte... ughwhydidilikethem.

Leenie - Pshh, the ATeens ruled. xD
My boyfriend liked them when he was that age, too. And a few months ago, he remembered them and just started randomly singing bits of their songs to drive me insane. xDDD I'd just be minding my own business and he'd suddenly be like "half way 'round the woooorld" and I'd be like "FUCK YOU. D<" because then that song wouldn't leave my head. ;-;

I SEE MENTION OF ZIM IN YOUR POST. *points*
