I've been doing something similar to this on other sites. It's a yearly book challenge. You challenge yourself to read a certain amount of books. I read 50 last year. I'm trying for 60 this year.

My List:

I'm reading:

Small Town Punk by John Sheppard
Sister Spider Knows All by adrian Fogelin
Blue Bloods by Stephanie De La Cruz
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues by Tom Robbins
Shadow Thieves by Ane Ursu

Books I've read this year: 11/60
Gravel Queen by Tea Benduhn
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
White Oleander by Janet Fitch
Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts
Women of the Weird Eerie Stories By the Gentle Sex
Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
Ishmael by Daniel Quinn
Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
Beloved by Toni Morrison
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling
Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison

@ Iltu - Really? I love that game, I think I might buy my own Xbox 360 just so I can play that game. xP And Assassins Creed. xD

Your flight attendant really said that? xD Best flight attendant ever.

You got home by 11?! Lucky, my plane landed at 11 and I got home at 12. And then I had to wake up six hours later to go to school. >>;;

@ tirethminet - xD Yeah. We usually don't sit next to each other at lunch, so he never really noticed it anyways.
I perfer matzah and cream cheese. xP

EDIT: OH! I forgot to mention, I'm reading the greatest book ever right now, 1001 Ways to Celebrate America.
It's really funny. On one page, it has a list of "American Couples". Here's a few of them:
George & Martha [you better know who they are if you're American >>]
JFK & Jackie
Ricky & Lucy
Fred & Wilma [The Flintstones! xD]
Barbie & Ken

There's also a short list of American Quotes. Here's two of them:
Quote:
"Four score and seven years ago..."
"Is that your final answer?"
xDD

ALSO, some "Inspirational Quotes":
Quote:
"I only regret I have but one life to give for my country."
- Nathan Hale [LOVE Nathan Hale]
Quote:
"I have not yet begun to fight."
- John Paul Jones
Quote:
"Give me liberty or give me death."
- Patrick Henry
Quote:
"One if by land, two if by sea."
- Paul Revere

I hope Kurt and Courtney aren't. ><

And I almost asked if Sid and Nancy were, but then I remembered they're British.
EDIT: Well, Sid was, I think Nancy was American.

Er.... Neither of those couples are in there. xD It's a short list, only some ten couples are listed.

Would you recognize the couple John and Abigail? xD

Also, I recommend that book, 1001 Ways to Celebrate America. Some of the stuff in there is actually pretty funny. xD

I think it was just the ones that were on the list which made it difficult to place it in an historical context. I was thinking more pop culture. Even JFK and Jackie were pop culture in a way.

leenie... I should slap you with a fish.
Though I will admit I went: "George and Martha... Who ar... OH! Washington!"

I just finished Persistence of Memory by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.
Uhm, it was okgoodfantasticwishtherewasmorebutstillnotenough. xD
It was good, and I like her new style. It's not about vampires and not about shapshifters (Like her other series anyway) there are vampires and shifters but this book goes no where near the vamp world and the shifters are main stream. Plus she threw in witches! I mean she mentioned them in her other books but this one had a real name. xD
The bad part about the book is the ending is anticlimactic.
It seems to me like the book is more of a really detailed outline for a longer better book.
It's there, but not.

@Dream: I hate when that happens--the author has a fantastic idea, but it almost seems they ran out of time and didn't really get to do what they wanted with it. I always wonder if it was the publisher pushing them, or something else.

Well according to her bio, she's in college and this book was started before the fourth book in the series she has. So it was that great idea complied slowly over a period of years all while writing other books and studying for exams. xD

Well, finally decided to barrow a couple of books on weddings and see if they could help me. I'm actually getting a few good ideas from it. Though I seriously doubted that I would considering how most books on weddings are too traditional for me to use in a renissance wedding. This one is about planning it and is actually written by a wedding planner who's planned most of the TV stars weddings. It's pretty cool.

Leenie- I went on a cruise to the Caribbean, it was lovely!
And it was Southwest. XD You're a good guesser! Do you travel alot?

Jersey- Yes, she was a great flight attendant, she we highly amusing. XD I can't remember all the stuff she said, but she had the plane cracking up.

Eesh, that sucks! D: *pats* School much have been rough for you that day. Sort of like our plane on the way to the port, we didn't land until one thirty (we were supposed to have landed at ten but our plane had been delayed) and we didn't get to sleep until around three, three thirty because the last meal we'd eaten was a late lunch and we were starving. My mom walked to Walgreens from the hotel to get us food. XDD We did get to sleep until nine though, so even though it was only six hours it at least felt like sleeping in!

The 13th Child is pretty good. It takes place in an America where Lewis and Clark disappeared on their expedition, Mammoths and steam dragons and woolly rhinoceroses attack settlements, and magic is taught in colleges alongside Latin and math.

Actually, school was pretty good that day. xP I didn't get any homework, and I got to eat baklavah [at home xP], so yesterday was pretty good. xD
Today though, today was bad. xP I was half asleep for most of the day and I nearly missed my bus stop home because I had fallen asleep on the bus. >>

I feel like reading Eragon or Eldest again, but I'm too lazy to get them out of my closet and I want to stay and talk to people online. xP
