erik chuckled, shrugging.
"that's fine. fine dining is a luxery we can't offord right now."
nodding.
"besides, food is food."

Jack laughed. "Thats true." She heated up a few cans of chili, and made make-shift quesadillas by melting cheese in the pot, and pouring it into tortillas. "Well, this will do." She passed out bowls of chili and quesadillas to everyone, then sat back to eat her own.

erik chuckled, taking the food and sitting back, eating at it.
"did we find any blankets or anything?"
taking a bit of the quesadilla.

Jack nodded to a pile of blankets and pillows. "There's 6 or 7 blankets, and a few pillows there. Wasn't enough for everyone, but we'll manage."

erik nodded and looked out towards the zombies.
"when we do decide to sleep, we trade off on watchers..."
nodding.
((if we just act out the rest of the time until night, it'll take forever. fast forward?))

Jack nodded. "Who wants first watch?"

Posting as : GOD!!! The sun was slowly beginning to dim, as the zombies began stumbling through the edges of town.

((ok, that works. I wish everyone else was here more....))

erik laid back as the sun light dimmed, looking to the sky.
"alright... as soon as i..."
he found a single star in the sky and sat up.
"alright, time."
moving over to turn the lights on.

Jack sighed and layed out the pillows and blankets for everyone. "Who's taking first watch?" She stretched and looked down towards the zombie hoard moving steadily towards them. They had less then an hour.

Posting as: GOD!!! As soon as darkness hit, all the zombies dropped. They fell, lifeless as the corpses they should be. They hit the ground, and stayed there. Erik got the lights on just in time, the shadows were beginning to appear in the darkness.

erik looked at the ghosts, then nodded.
"i'll take first watch, be a bit before i can sleep anyway..."
sitting by the center of the rooftops, so he could see the whole roof.
"we'll switch every couple hours, i think..."
nodding.

Jack nodded, eyeing the shadow things uneasily. She lit up a cigarette, and stretched out on a blanket, laying back and looking up to the sky. "What do we do? Ya think it's gonna just go away?" She took a long drag off her cigarette. "What CAN we do?"

erik shrugged, sitting back.
"we can survive...."
fiddling with the cross on his wrist.
"if nothing else... we can survive..."
nodding and sighing.

Jack took another long drag. "Until we can't anymore. I mean, is there really any chance? Or are we just postponing what is inevitable? We might just be sitting around, waiting to die for the rest of our probably very short lives." She thought in silence for a short while, methodically puffing smoke rings into the night sky.

erik took out a cigarillo and lit it, puffing at it a few times.
"humanity will survive this... we just have to survive with it."
taking a big puff, then blowing it out.
"we do have a chance. and if there's a safe zone nearby, that chance'll be even greater."

Jack glanced over. "Thats true, but what are our chances of making it there? And why did all the zombies drop like that? Are they really dead? As in PERMANENTLY dead?"

erik looked to the zombies, and the shades that now surrounded them.
"maybe it's those things. the zombies are out when the shades aren't, and the converse is true as well... maybe it's connected..."
shrugging as he took another puff.

Jack nodded, "Thats logical, so do we go when there are zombies, or shadows? There are less shadow things, but the are a lot faster. For some reason I feel that they are also more dangerous...but they also dislike light...." She sighed, taking another long draw from her glowing cigarette. The cherry lit up a brilliant red in the darkening sky.

erik thought.
"the zombies are slow, but they're around us now... so, why don't we leave when there's shades, around 3 am, with the lights... and get a head start on the zombies... then, keep moving through the day..."
shrugging.
"ya think it'd work?"

Jack nodded. "Sounds like plan. How long do we want to stay here?"

erik sat back and thought.
"let's give it tonight and tomarrow... for a bit of rest, and so we can watch these things well... ya think?"
tilting his head as he looked to jack for a reply.

Jack nodded. "We can use that time to plan how to carry enough light." She lit up another cigarette, then threw the smoked cigarette over the edge of the roof. "Think a sled of some kind would work?"

erik nodded.
"yea, that's a good idea... we can use the containers as a base... maybe use the tarp to keep them together and as a bottom..."
thinking to himself for a moment.
"i think that'll work..."

Jack nodded under her smoke rings, which hovered for a short time, then dissolved into the dark night sky. "My only concern is that it might slow us down. But, I guess if we really had to, we could just drop it and go."

erik nodded.
"well, we'll still have the flashlights... we can set the flood lights on it with the generator, and just pick them up if we need to run..."
thinking more.
"if we keep the tarp below it, it should make it quite a bit faster that without... and we have enough people to pull it"
nodding.

Jack nodded. "That should work..."

Posting as: GOD!!! The zombies still lay lifeless, filling the streets, but the shades prowled the supermarket, passing in and out of the walls, dashing away whenever light hit them.

erik nodded and sat back.
"well, ya should prolly get some sleep, if ya can. i'll wake ya up for next watch in a couple hours."
nodding as he took another puff.
