I bought four more books today, but I'm thinking of giving one of them to my dad as part of his birthday present. The shop is closing down so all of the books are £2. My favourite shoe shop in my town closed down a while ago because they were making huge losses on everything they sold. You could get £35 Rocket Dogs for £5-£10. Not the best thought out business plan. I bought a pair of plimsolls for £2 today, if they last longer than a week I'm officially impressed. XD

My dad has the first volume of Uncanny X-Men and it's so dated it's hilarious. They're tripping over themselves at the academy because (dun dun duuuun!) a girl is joining them. =O

Has anyone heard of The Rose Labyrinth by Titania Hardie? I just started reading it and was wondering if anyone else had checked it out.
Another one I was wondering if anyone has read is Such a Pretty Girl by Laura Wiess. I finished it a few weeks ago. It was pretty interesting.

On another note, I've been stuck on reading books involving faeries.. :insane: Hardcore fantasy fan! Eep! This string of fantasy is getting me close to 100 books.. >3 I know I have 20 being shipped to my local library.. I was clicking through authors and checking "Order for Hold" on books that looked interesting, and before I knew it, I had tons and tons of books on the hold shelf under my name.. and more on the way. :oops:

I just started it, but it's decent so far. It comes with these papers (the main character discovers them several chapters in, but you get them early I suppose :3) you can use to try to decipher the mystery. I just through four, then gave up. XD I didn't get them.
I'm reading War and Peace for summer homework. ^^;

I just realized I read almost all the books while watching season one. I own the set and none of my friends had watched it so I've seen season one about six times. ^_^
It's fun to compare, but like I said there are 'shake-fist' moments

@ljos: Eric and Pam are hilarious. The actor isn't really my type but character is good enough that I'll make an exception. I like Bill, a little bit (I want to smack him sometimes).

So yeah two more books came in the mail yesterday. I don't know how many I ordered apparently. XD

Oh, and I just got a hold of the Southern Vampire series on audiobook! I'm listening to the first book. I think I would actually enjoy reading it more myself, the girl who reads it isn't bad, but...
Still, I needed a new audiobook to listen to and I've been excited about these books and haven't been able to get a hold of them. Though if I like the first book enough, I might just buy them if they're not too expensive.

I can't do audio books, my mind would wander and next thing I'd know, I'd be three chapters later. xD

I have Watchmen, Ultimate X-Men, Marvel 1602 and The Books of Magic to read. O_o

I might revisit Marvel 1602, but sometimes I can't tell who the 1602 people are supposed to be based on. Like a boy called Peter who is fascinated by spiders... I'm so slow.

I just have one little question first. Does it matter if some of my books are in French or in Russian? Because I like to read in all of these languages, just so that I have some practice and don't forget those languages. (since there isn't many french or russian people around me that I can talk to)

Zernita: Aww, I didn't think I would make it but just knowing I was doing the challenge encouraged me to read more. You can set your challenge at any number of books you want to, it doesn't have to be 50.

I'm sure you can read books in any language too. I would love to be able to read Russian. ^^

You can count anything you want. You can even change the number of books if you think that 50 is too much. Just create a challenge that will push your limits a little bit. We don't have any rules here. :yes:

Wee! I bought three new bookcases!
Well technically they're DVD shelving units but they're the same as a bookcase. I got two four-shelved ones to hold all my DVDs (^_^; I guess those are DVD shelves now) because I have so many movies and seasons that they were taking up two shelves on my nice bookcase. So even though no books are on those two I got two long shelves back for books!
The other shelf is a tower and its 6ft. :3 Eight shelves make me happy. I put all my manga on that one though (gave me a shelf and a half back on that nice bookcase). Really there were no books on that one case. xD
I no longer have wall space. ^_^;

because i'm a tard and had to listen to the first 20-30 chapters a few times.
audiobooks are totally not something to listen to when you're focusing on something else.

Yay! People are back in the thread. I'm reading a series currently that I will post when I'm finished.

This thread use to be so active...then summer came. XD Which you would think is when most people would read! Well at least that was my idea, even though I do most of my reading during school. ^^;;

I got Sense and Sensibility in the mail today! It took forever to get here. I've been watching the movie on TV and fallen in love with it, I even bought the movie. I had too, it had Alan Rickman in Victorian style clothing and he looked fine as hell! XD I'm looking forward to reading it after I finish my AP one. : ]

Summer came and everyone one vanished. xD I think in the past two months this has moved five pages.
