My fiancee weighs more than me, but I never really cared about weight. I'm more attracted to women with a bit more weight on them than I am to those who look like they should be in the hospital for anorexia and mental treatment.

I think the reason it's considered more ''normal'' for a guy to way more than his girlfriend, is simply because men are generally naturally heavier than women.
Same with it being seen as ''abnormal'' if a guy is shorter than his girlfriend, it's just because men generally grow taller than women.
But, of course, whether or not you adhere to either stereotype depends upon your genetics... and since when did that matter?
A person should love you for who you are, being bothered about whether or not that person weighs more than you is just silly.
Guys- if you really can't stand having a girl that's heavier than you, I recommend you eat more cake, and expand your options a bit.

It absolutely would not bother me! In fact, I'd prefer it if she did! Especially if she was all muscly and butch-like. That's dead sexy.

That's ridiculous. It's like the "the guy must be taller than the girl" and "the guy must have a bigger shoe size" statements. If you like someone but she's an inch taller than you/weighs a bit more than you, would you refrain from dating her? Of course not, you're dating a girl, you're not dating an amount of pounds/inches.

It's nothing to do with relationships. A healthy woman does weigh less than a healthy man because of the way their bodies are built.
I have no idea where the relationship thing comes in.

angel:: Relationships can come into it because some girls, like myself, find skinny guys attractive. :]
But if we were to follow the standard that girls should weigh less than boys, it could easily become unhealthy for us, so I'm asking the boys of Menewsha how they feel about having girlfriends who weigh more than them. :)

Nowadays most woman weigh more than man at least where i live they do. I weigh more than my hubby but i have also had 3 kids and the weight hasnt come off like i wanted it too. Many woman have slower metabolisms than men. Woman are made to give birth to babies therefore usually have a bit of meat on them. Those who are too skinny and even too heavy will have a harder time with that stuff. MY hubby doesnt care how much i weigh as long as i am happy with it. Im not but im working on it.
My brothers also dont care about how women look...my older brothers girl is a bit tubby but he loves her all the same XD
MY younger brother doesn't care about weight but he does have his preferences and that is fine as long as he isn't mean about it.
meep..

Just thought I would put in my couple cents... XD
I think that most guys are bigger than women so it's become a silly stereotype. But then again it's silly how there are so many really skinny manorexics out there... >_< I wish the guys would gain a bit more wieght so they at least looked filled out :(
I'm sure there is a person out there for everyone even if you don't find the skinny boy of your dreams you will find someone you love and cherish just as much as the surface... O_o did I make any sense?

Well it all really depends.
If the girl is taller then obviously she's going to weigh more than the boy, because I like this boy that is real shorter than me, and I doubt he'll weigh the same as me o____o

I would have to agree with geishaberry entirely on this. No relationship is 'normal'. I tried to think about mine or the ones I have been in in that light, and I couldn't. My partner is another woman. :]

i don't know, but whoever i'm with i don't want to the be the erm...bigger one >>'
i'd love to lose weight right now so i can be smaller. if i did lose weight, i could go from 27 in waist, to a 25/24 and hopefully to at least a 34 in hips. if i lose some around the waist, it will accentuate the curves. but i'm not so picky about other people. it's just how i'd like to be.
if i was in a relationship with a smaller partner, oy, i'd seriously force myself to lose weight :gonk:

I honostly think is depends on the guy. There are some guys that love skinny girls and there are some guys that love curvey girls. I honoestly think it doesnt matter.

Well, as I girl that never has a boyfriend, that depends on him. I would be annoyed if we are the same height and he weighs less. I'm like 5'9 for chrissake! xD If he's shorter, I understand. But then again, I rather not have a short boyfriend...

I don't think it really matters. Personally, I'm mainly attracted to built guys, so even though I'm not skinny in the least, the guys I'm attracted to are usually bigger than me. However, I wouldn't necessarily turn down a guy just because he was skinnier than me. There are a lot more important things about a person to look for in a relationship. Don't worry what other people may think as long as you're happy.

-coughs- My girlfriend weighs more than me but basically everyone weighs more than me. Ehh, she did tell me she really liked skinny boys so I guess that makes me at an advantage? It doesn't really matter with me, I could care less what kind of body type you have just as long as you can make me happy.
Seriously. o_o;

I can't even imagine that, then again if a guy is less weight than me, he has to weigh less than 100, but yeah, it is something i would find a bit odd, even I like those skinny people, but they still have decent weight to them.

A lot of people don't have healthy weights, and I'm not just saying fat. A lot of people are underweight for their height. D:

I'm not a guy - but I find myself being somewhat self conscience about my weight when I like a skinny guy. Not so much because of how it might look - but because I'd sort of like to date a guy who can lift me up. And not a lot of skinny guys can hoist 250 Lbs.
It's horrible that I think short skinny (read: puny) guys are cute.

Skinny boys are :drool: ..just not OVERLY skinny.. >_<
I think I would feel a bit weird though.. :/
but really, in theory, it shouldn't matter..
And indeed.. you can't help who you like >.>
Like, what if I crushed their skinny legs if I sat on their lap? D;
