Kiel's ears perked up as he heard a smooth rushing sound a ways away "yeah...there is one" he said to himself. He continued over a small hill and spotter a stream running through the woods. There was an old looking stone bridge leading to the other side. It was somewhat green from plants and moss growing on it and some of the blocks of stone were missing.

"Hmm... I don't know if it's better to walk on the bridge and have it possibly fall or go straight through the stream and get wet... on second thought, I think I'll take the bridge." Vienn leapt onto the raised edge of the bridge and lightly stepped along it until she was on the other side. "Oo, what's that?" she said and ran over to a spot in the decaying leaves of the forest floor where she had seen something shine. She pushed the leaves aside and dug out an old copper coin. "Look at that." Too bad it's not that valuable, Vienn sighed.

Kiel walked onto the curves of the bridge and stopped in the middle. He put a slight smile and and began to jump. Each time he landed he stomped on the stone, few stray stones moved but the bridge was completely solid. Kiel stopped and quickly looked at the stream with a shocked look "woah....Vienn look" He rested his arms on the arm rests near the edge of the bridge. In the stream lay the torn clothing of a un-lucky guild student. The cloths had ran into an underwater stone and were clinging on.

Vienn walked back over to Kiel and looked where he was pointing. "Hmm... those tears look vicious. I wonder what it could have been from." She turned her head to look back over at where she had found the coin but found herself face to face with a seemingly mute giant wasp.

Kiel's back jerked forward as he felt a sharp push on his back. The impact of the strike threw him forward and he fell hard on the stone bridge. He quickly reacted and rolled over while drawing his crossbow. He held his bow and shield. He rolled back and sprung up now standing near Vienn. Kiel looked around seeing more wasps appear from the treetops.

"It is surprising to find silent wasps," Vienn said conversationally as she put all her strength into one hard blow on the wasps head, "When you'd expect them to be loud and buzzing. It tends to throw people off guard!" She kicked the wasp, which had fallen to the ground, into the stream so it couldn't fly back at them, then turned to face the oncoming swarm.

A wasp quickly flew towards Kiel, he was quick enough to bash it with his shield breaking most of it. The wasp struggled on the ground and soon died. Quickly Kiel loaded his crossbow with a bolt. "I guess that's how the last guy got caught" Kiel gave a little gaze back into the stream.

"Not necessarily; I'm sure there are plenty of other things that could have caused those tears. I don't know where that one wasp came from though. Or how the others knew it was in trouble." While Vienn got distracted thinking about how the wasps communicated with each other, a couple had come over and stung her arm. "Ow!" Vienn glared at the wasps and then bashed them both with one swing. "Guess that's my own fault," she muttured under her breath, then unsheathed her dagger and took out another one that had been hanging about her head.

Kiel covered Vienn's arm with the bottom tip of his shield after she was stung. He crouched down and fully extended his arm. "Last one!" Kiel pointed his bow at the large wasp and fired. The bolt zipped through the air and cut through the body of the wasp. Both parts of the wasp fell on the bridge slightly splatting. Kiel then stood up and let his guard down. He felt around his back feeling a small tent in his armor. He was glad about himself not getting cut but annoyed that he would need to fix his armor. "you okay?"

"I've had worse than this," Vienn scoffed, and went to wash her arm in the stream. When she had finished cleaning the cuts, she pulled a piece of linen out of one of her belt pockets and wrapped her arm with it. "Wasps, check. Wonder what's next?" Vienn sat down by the edge of the stream and pulled out a bagel she had filched from breakfast. "Want some?" she asked Kiel with a full mouth.

Kiel jumped back a little and shook his hands at Vienn "ahhhhah, no thanks I had a lot of those uhhh muffin balls things hehe" The bagel was an evil food that bit you back when you bit it. Kiel pulled out a small sack of seeds and pinched one out. "You can survive a long time living off of these, that's elven food for you" Kiel then put his weapons away and casted a heal on Vienn. Finally he continued down the trail.

((Bahahahaha books take a lot of fine tuning. But anime? You're out of your mind XD))

Vienn looked after Kiel with distaste. "Seeds? And one at that! I could live off fruits and roots maybe, but never something so small." She looked down at the rest of the bagel and then shoved it in her mouth. After swallowing, she trotted after Kiel. "I quite like these bagels." After she caught up, they walked in silence for a while, and then came to another clearing.

Kiel slowed down a little to let Vienn catch up. As they traveled deeper into the forest the plants that grew to the sides of the trail slowly raised as they went further and further. Eventually the towering plants curved over them blocking out the rest of the light. "this is strange" Kiel said to himself as he put his hands out walking; while looking closely in front of him.

((hey if Two losers in their basement in England can come up with runescape then us two can make this into something, it's really good))

Vienn looked behind them when they started travelling through a tunnel that was pitch black, and saw dim light gradually turning into brightness. "It's completely silent, too," she whispered. "Sends shivers... right down my spine." And I'm not one who is easily frightened. There was a quiet crack somewhere to their left, and they both whipped around to face whatever was there. "Do you see anything?"

((hahaha well, you might have a point there...
It kinda reminds me of those choose your own adventure books, except most of the endings in those are deaths XD))

Kiel bent over to look down the narrow path. He spotted many different paths splitting off into other parts of the woods. It was a maze of dark and harsh wild tunnels. Kiel soon discovered a much larger and wider area. He felt like he was more in a room then out in the woods because even the plants here covered the top. This place, this wide room looked more like a nest for some animal then a part of the trail. The grass he stepped on was already forced down and patted like something had been laying there.

Vienn muttered "Guess not," and carefully moved forward. Kiel paused in an area that seemed to be a little bit lighter, and Vienn moved quicker to catch up to him. Suddenly, she tripped over a deep indent in the ground and fell into Kiel's back. "Oof. What the-" She went back to examine it and found a huge footprint. "A footprint," she traced it with her fingers. "But there's no room for something so large in here!" Must be from a long time ago.

Kiel walked around the room to get a feel for it then he looked into each of the trails going out but did not enter. Suddenly a small soft friendly sounding voice quickly caught his attention. "Excuse me but..why are you in my home?" asked the voice. Kiel looked in all directions, finally looking down he spotted a small...very small looking old man. He strangely smiled back at Kiel and then looked at Vienn. "ohhh you must want to know what trail to go down...well what one there leads to my tree house, one leads to wealth, one leads to fortune, one leads to excitement, that one leads to nothing and the last one leads to salvation" The small old man limped to a nearby stone and sat on top of it.

Vienn looked at the man curiously. "Wealth and fortune are not the same thing?" I suppose he must mean fortune as in good luck. But who needs good luck when there is anything else you could ever wish for? Excitement, wealth, nothing, salvation... a tree house... She looked at Kiel uneasily and then gazed at each of the paths with intense scrutiny. After taking a while to think, she asked the man "So which path should we take?"

The old man replied in a very weary voice. "Which path you take, young one, depends on if you go with him, or if you go alone. But that is your decision, and you shall not be granted knowledge until you have made it."

The old man now sat on the rock as if he was meditating. Kiel then noticed an ivory white glow of magic that waved out of his large wond. Kiel swayed as if he was magically drunk, The mans mesmerizing voice spoke to him. "Lady Vienn, you are a greedy human and by instinct your mind will choose for you...you will follow driven by greed" Kiel felt a flash in his own mind and the voice spoke again. "Prince Kiel'tah-ez, you are follow greed as well, not in material reward but the power of your will. The elves are a over controlled hypocrite race. Kiel will choose a road that will grant experience"

((hey Sammy say this were a story like a novel we would still be in the prologue at this point right?))

((ah, probably not. Prologues are short usually, it probably would have ended when we entered the woods?))

Vienn cast a sideways glance at Kiel. Prince, huh. "So we're not going together." she said, and then muttered "Some decision, huh." She stepped toward the path to wealth and then looked back at Kiel. "Wait a second, who decided all this?" Her temper flared up and she glared at the old man. "I don't want to have my fate decided by some fool on a tree stump!" She folded her arms and stood resolutely. "I'll make my own decisions. And I decide to go with the prince over there," she tilted her head in Kiel's direction.

((wow this is so different from past Falbe RPs we've done))

Danielle opened her eyes and soon her vision became clear. She found herself inside a small room with a bared window. The walls were curved and she soon figured out she was locked inside the attic of a large tree house. She fluttered up to the window and gazed out of it. Only a dark path and blinding fog were in sight.

((hey Bel, yeah we should totally make titles between our posts so we can put everything where it needs to go, oh hey Sam lol after this post can you Chaos him and make him dance around until we finish the quest?))

Kiel suddenly snapped out of the Chaos spell the creature was trying to put on him. He formed light in his hands and healed himself. It helped take some of the spell off. "You don't need to trick us into going into the wrong path because I know none of them make any scene" Yet there was still the choice. There had to be one path safe, the Tree House. If this creature could live there then so could we. "We need no reward, I choose the path leading to your House!" The thought then came to him that the creature had called him a prince, he ignored it and then looked at Vienn.

((Yay, third person! sorry, no dancing XD and welcome to Menewsha, bel))

Vienn casted Chaos on the gnome and smiled with satisfaction as his composed look turned into one of confusion. She kicked him once out of anger and then knocked his wand out of the air and broke it into two pieces. "Teach him to make me docile... decide my own fate," she muttured. With one last glance at the wealth path, she turned to follow Kiel on the path to the gnome's treehouse and left the gnome rambling to himself on the ground.

Kiel's mind was now clear and he looked at the strange creature. "this forest is getting to be tricky" he said as he looked at the small creature laughing slightly. "Well lets head on to his house, hope he doesn't have a mother" Kiel looked down the path that curved in strange ways. Finally he took his first steps into the path.

"A mother?" Vienn started to giggle as she imagined the gnome's old and gnarled mother, probably beating her son with a stick. She walked forward on the path but the trees appeared wavy to her and she started to place her feet unsteadily, as if she wasn't sure of what she was doing. "I don't..." she said, taking in a deep breath, "feel so good..." Vienn collapsed right onto a small tree that had fallen across the path.
