Gor, I just got something fantastic. Someone brought me take-out from a corner store, and they got me a can of melon punch.
It's not carbonated or anything, and I know it's all chemically and stuff, but wow, it's good.
It's like watermelon and honeydew, made into punch. Oh my god, it's awesome.

@ Jelly - I remember a little bit about Mt. Dew. Maybe not from 1981... but It does seem to be getting stronger...

My dad used to be a big Mt. Dew drinker when I was a wee one. Even as a sugar-obsessed kid, I thought it was weird tasting. I mean, I still drank it once in a while (kid logic), but I didn't really like it either.
Over the weekend I found this... magical place? Candy shop. It's set up to be reminiscent of old-timey candy shops, and they have all kinds of candies and sodas. Lots of rarities, imports, novelties, etc. Link so you can see it for yourself.

Probably no kinder eggs though... aren't those sadly still illegal?

I never tried them, but I did have the Disney Wonderballs. They used to not have candy inside, they had little disney figurines. They were so cool.
What's strange, though is that was probably in the '98-'00 range. Long, long after kinder eggs and the like were banned. There are laws about non-food items in food. So how did Disney and Nestle get away with that for a few months?

Star Wars was for sale, though. So I'm not even mad.
Plus I love Marvel Movies aaaand... you know.
Just in case I never actually said my own soda preferences it's A&W Root Beer and Cherry Coke.
Not sure how strict Mene is on staying on topic.

Do you mean original a&w or the new stuff?

Whatever comes in the can, really.
I've had A&W on draft at an A&W restaurant. But honestly I like the can stuff better.

Kinda sorta. I can drink off brand root beers, so yeah. Pretty much the same.
I still like A&W "better" but that's probably just brand loyalty.
I don't seem to like Barq's anymore. That "bite" just tastes like black licorice to me now. Not a fan.

I still drink more soda that I should. It's that crispy burning sensation of the bubbles that just makes it more palatable to me than flat drinks.
I had been drinking diet cola, but I read enough about the damage aspartame does and just decided to drink less of the sugared kind, as that would be at least -less- unhealthy.
I really miss this one soda they had had for awhile. it was one of those generic seltzer water dealies, but it was with mint flavour. I drink soda as much for its digestive value- ie. it makes me burp!- as for the taste, and so it made a really good after dinner drink. I should look into finding some kind of mint syrup to add to plain seltzer. That, or make a load of mint tea and just add dry ice to it.
I can't always get out to the store as it is two busrides away and I can only carry back what fits in my backpack, so sometimes I order groceries from one of those expensive online delivery services just for the convenience of it arriving right to my doorstep. They pack the frozen goods in dry ice, so I was making my own seltzer for awhile until one of the bottles exploded right on my roommate, giving him a nasty bruise where the bottlecap hit. I still do cups of individual soda though, as it's not as enclosed and so not as much a risk.
That said, have any of you ever tried putting dry ice in water? it's neat! That's how they get that 'mad scientist' effect you see on a lot of Hallowe'en specials, with the smoky bubbling brews. When it is done smoking you have a nice mild seltzer to drink. :)

You'll get fined! Arrested! Interpol will kick down your door!
Just stock up on loads of them and pass them out to whoever comes to visit.

Well, I was just sending some Kinder eggs to my friends on Menewsha.com (make sure you spell that correctly).

Haha I have some friends who say Mountain Dew is Mountain Goat Pee...
But I generally call that fizzy soft drink, pop. -is stomped away- XD I don't really drink them that often. I actually stopped drinking pop for like 2-3 years. Life kept going!
