Any suggestions for what we should read first? Old book smell would kill my mom. She has a mold allergy.

That works for me. I'll go set up the thread. I was thinking we could read for the month of October and then discuss during November and then get a new book in December. How does this sound to everybody?

Oh, I actually have Hollow Earth on my Nook. If I have the time to actually do reading outside of my course books. I'll join in. Don't keep fingers crossed though. This semester is absolutely insane! :(

So I should give you all a month to read and a month to discuss?

I had a look at the book. Don't know if I'd read it, but seeing as I'm already reading 3 other books and loads of fanfiction... I think I'll pass this round

I guess the individual bookclub threads might want to go in the books forum. But not nesessarily...

Knerd gave an excellent break down for GD vs. More specific forum. Basically, a thread can live in the GD if you're happy for the conversation to be free to roam, but if you'd like it to remain a bit more on topic, post it in the relevant specific forum.

This is a really good definition, and will go in the GD guidelines when new ones go up.

I don't mind it being free roam. I have noticed most has stuck on the book club topic.

I highly recommend Hollow Earth to anybody. My mom and I both love it. Hmmmm I should spend October and come up with some questions for discussion.

I just realized why this book sounds so familiar. It reminds me of a different book; Hallow Kingdom.

You might be able to have a more successful book club if you can find an online book that people can read. Maybe you could do a short story or poetry club. Since those can be easier to acquire than books.

I'd be up for a short story club.
