Hmm, I must not have been there for that conversation. -shrug- It makes sense, though.
T_T HLAHG WAS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT IN FREAKING '04. IT'S '07. WTH?! GIMME. -pouts-

I thought that was just Bullet in a Bible... crazy.
But in Nobody Likes You it's listed as coming out it '07 XD.
So Marc Spitz must have known what he was talking about...
Yeah, I know, I think it's so adorable.

Well BIAB came out in late '05, right?
And HLAHG is the making of American Idiot, so they were filming it back in '04. They were supposed to have a DVD out either late '04 or early '05. Then FUSE showed the making of American Idiot, and at the end, it said it was from HLAHG. That was shown in like, November '04, I think? I dunno.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7JWm1Yum1s
At the end, in the credits, it says it's from HLAHG, and the copyright is '04.
My guess is that it got postponed, and now it's supposed to come out in '07. IT'D BETTER.

- Well the copyright would be '04, wouldn't it? Because you can't have a copyright for the future XD.
That doesn't mean it's coming out that year, just means that the footage is copyrighted from the year that it was filmed. John said he had about 300 hours of footage to cut down, though. And given his other projects I'd say the time span is about justified XD.

I know, but I heard from a couple other sources that it was supposed to come out around then. (Don't remember where...possibly GDA and/or a couple magazines?)
I understand postponing it because they couldn't finish it by the deadline, then postponing it more because BIAB came out...but it should have at least been out by Christmas '06. :(
As for the copyright, I meant moreso that the show was from '04, and if they already had enough clips from it to make a half-hour long show, they must have had quite a bit done by that time. xP

xD So true.
Billie Joe did say that if any of them left the band it'd be in a bodybag.
That might actually be a very good explanation. But then again, I wonder how big of a part they play in the creation of the DVDs, besides the actual recording process. o_o;

- True, true. I think htat's the best quote ever though XD.
But, I think they probably play a good part, because it's representing them, and they should at least be able to partake in the creative process, just like they are with the videos, you know? I think they do have something to do with it, at the very least talk about it with the people producing it.

Fine. I forgive them. BUT THEY NEED TO GET THEIR TOOSHIES WORKING ON GETTING THAT OUT TO US.
It is definitely one of the best quotes ever. 8) I dunno if it's THE best, but definitely one of. Especially one of the best quotes to come from a musician. Though, I'm also particularly fond of "I'm a musician; God forbid I actually have time to make music." (Patrick Stump said that one. <3)

God forbid they actually have time at home.
Though, it is their job, so I guess they don't need an enormous amount of time away from work XD.
And yeah... we need something new from our boys.

I'd make a thread for The Matches, but I dunno if I'll find anybody else that likes them here. xD I might as well try.
xD I understand that they need a break, but they've had long enough of a break. But they are in the studio now, so that's good. But it's still only early '07, and they're saying don't expect anything until '08? Dx That had BETTER mean they're working on a Network album and/or a double/triple album.
Seriously, when did the WMUWSE video come out? o_x; Was that before or after BIAB? I don't even remember, it was so long ago. The ONLY thing we've gotten recently was The Saints Are Coming, and that was a cover collaboration which U2 was more prominant in. xP

- Yeah... good points, lol.
Yeah, I know, I was like "WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT '08?!?!"
Maybe the Simpsons movie, too O.O.
We don't know... if there's a new song, you know we'll be all over it.
At least, you know, they haven't totally disappeared from the radar, and I guess that's good. When they do, though, we'll know what's coming up.
New Network album would be totally madness.
WMUWSE came out in '05 O.O.
That is madness.
It seems like it came out last year...
But like...
It seems like I just got into them last year except for the fact that I know that that isn't true, because I've had two and a half winters of being obsessed with them (the half being the first, haha). It really doesn't feel like it's been that long at all.
Madness!
I happened to like The Saints Are Coming, though, personally, but I agree that we need something new. I mean, we were saying this ten months ago! it was two years then! Now it's going to be four years! between albums? That's nuts! And it's weird because it still will only feel like two XD.

I liked The Saints Are Coming too, but...GEEZ. One song in two years of nothing new is NOT enough. D<
Good point. We do have The Simpsons movie. But...if they only make a small cameo, I'll be kind of disappointed. I mean, it's still cool, and I'll still get really excited when they're in it...but...STILL.

I was spoiled though, when I first got into them they were all the radio seemed to be playing XD.
They better not just make a small cameo.
But, usually when celebrities are on The Simpsons they aren't just cameos, right?
But, even so, even if it is just a cameo, you know, at least it's something, at least we know they're still alive XD. Maybe there'd be photos from the premiere!

I'm kind of spoiled too, because while American Idiot came out in what...August '04? September? (I don't remember.) I didn't complete my collection until March '05. (I first got into them...late June '04.) Then I got Money Money 2020 in October '05. Or, I thought it was October, but my computer is telling me it was November. o_O; -shrug-
Plus, there were random rarities/b-sides I got on-line, as well as live stuff...
BUT STILL. IT'S BEEN TOO LONG. T_T
Fall Out Boy has put out TWO albums since American Idiot came out. D<

I should listen to that more... and I got all but 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours by the end of 2005, but I got a buttload of videos and b-sides and stuff online, too. The first stuff I think I downloaded for Green Day I think is still on my old computer, it's the American Idiot b-sides, haha... and Favorite Son...
No wonder you're more into Fall Out Boy :P. They really put out *coughahem*.

xD Well, Green Day hasn't really done anything new since I've gotten into Fall Out Boy. I finished my Green Day collection (at least the main parts) in March '05, I got into Fall Out Boy in April '05, so that means I've gotten five FOB CDs since, and they've been releasing things like videos gradually to tide us over. Plus, I've seen them live twice. And I've been pretty obsessed with them for over two years now. IN WHICH TIME GREEN DAY HAS DONE VERY LITTLE. o_x; Well, I got Money Money 2020, BIAB, and they put out the WMUWSE video. xP
It's just there's not even any new live stuff or rarities or anything. C'mon guys, leak us a demo or SOMETHING. T_T

- I'd say that's plenty, but apparently not enough to quell your obsession with their spawn :P.
Green Day isn't a band to just go off and collaborate with random artists o.O;;, anyway who would they collaborate with? They're not hip hop or R&B, so there's not really anyone XD. Well, that is, no one that's roughly at the same level as them. Hey, they've done very little, but not nothing, you've gotta give that to them, no?
I don't want a demo leak! I want the stuff to be new when I hear it! I've heard a ton of rarities, and I bought tribute albums! And books! If you want something new from Green Day, get something new from GReen Day, eh? There're so many things to choose from XD.

Good point. I actually don't want ANYTHING leaked. I don't even want to hear the first single before the album comes out. I don't want it disconnected from the album. o_x;
I'm just getting restless and impatient. I want something new. I go from having them on TV every two seconds, and hearing them on the radio all the time even considering I don't listen to the radio...and now they're pretty much nowhere. Dx I mean, they play a video on FUSE every once in a blue moon, but sheesh.
Oddly enough, they play the older videos more often. xD
But yeah. I'm tempted to get Nobody Likes You when I start work again. My job starts again April 14th, and they asked me to come in and start helping them set up this Friday. =D YAY NOT BROKE-NESS!!

- Yay, haha!
And Fuse plays them plenty, haha.
But they do tend to play their older videos more, but that's just because now that they're not as huge they have more to draw from because the people still listening to them will recognize the old stuff as well as the new stuff, and maybe people were tired of the new stuff or something. It's kind of refreshing. That's how our radio stations have been. Although last couple of months they played Jesus of Suburbia twice while we were listening.. But again, I think they can play that for the same reason they can play the older stuff, because it has just a bit more specific an appeal, I think.
I think I'll like however they release the first single and the album, because like, I can see myself liking either way for different reasons.
Personally, I wonder if they're going to change their look, because the red and black really worked for American Idiot, but is it going to be required to carry over into the next album? Personally, I'd be refreshed to see a change.

I want to see a change, too. I mean, they've always done red and black, just not as a uniform thing. And the uniform thing worked for American Idiot because it was a concept album, but I don't want to see them in uniform, all matching and whatnot. xD
On Fall Out Boy's FUSE Celebrity Playlist, they picked Basket Case, and Pete was like "Blah blah blah, they never show the old videos, so I thought I'd pick an older one." WTF, PETE...THEY PLAY THEM MORE THAN THE NEW ONES. IF YOU WANT ONE THEY DON'T PLAY, PICK STUCK WITH ME OR NICE GUYS FINISH LAST! D<
Sorry. >_>;
But yeah. It seems like they play all the older stuff now. Especially Dookie. I haven't even seen any Warning videos in quite some time.
If they release a single first, I'll listen to it. I don't have that much self control. Buuuut...I don't like when bands do that, because then I don't associate the song with the album. Y'know? o_x;

- I guess, haha. But I always associated American Idiot with American Idiot... I don't know if it was even released before the album came out... and I always associated Novacaine with American Idiot too, even though I heard it before I heard any of the other songs and that was the first time I heard about the album at all...
It's okay if they're all dressed nice, and they all have their own style, so "in uniform" doesn't mean they're all dressed exactly the same, and hey, look at the Clash, they pulled off the uniform thing great! I don't care if they're still in "Uniform" and I don't care if they're still red and black, but it would be nice if, you know, they threw some other things into the mix.

It'll all become uniform after a while. Like, I've finally gotten used to Boulevard Of Broken Dreams again, and I can associate American Idiot with the album.
Yes, it was a single before the album was released. I was just getting into them, and my friend was like "Hey, they've got a new album coming out!" and he downloaded some songs and put them on a CD for me, and American Idiot was on there, so I knew it before I got the album.
I don't mind the uniform thing either, but it's just...all the matching! xD It gets boring after a while. Mix it up! Even if it's different uniforms/color schemes every once ina while, just...mix it up.

Well, it seems so foreign even when he switches it around and wears a red shirt with a bowtie, or something. So even just a little bit of variation would do.
Now he wears a lot of the Adeline stuff, and even that provides variation.
With the star and whatnot, or you know, sometimes it's shiny, and that looks different, too. There's a million ways they could go with it.

- Did you guys hear that Green Day's gonna do a cover of John Lennon's "Working Class Heroes"? It's for the album "Instant Karma"; a compilation whose proceeds benefit Amnesty International. They're also going to do a video for it. Hehehehe. Yummy.
Okay, so I'm having a fangirl attack just imagining Billie Joe singing that song... fuck. It's so sweet. And you know... it's so them XD. They're like... working class heroes. And it's always been like, my dream to hear Green Day do a Beatles cover... even though I didn't really know that song XD; it's by a former Beatle... seriously, I had a squee attack when I heard that it was going to happen. I guess the album comes out in June.
I got this news from Ashley btw. <33333.
