@ Creps: I tried to recreate my avatar on MAC when I was looking for more colour options but realised that my avatar had a lot of things that MAC was missing. XD I really like your avatar actually *o* I'm not surprised we look similar, given that almost nothing matches the sash of chaos and the tiki skirt. XD
By the way, I really distracted me when I saw your pirate avatar before my own. I was like.. WOW CREPS' ONE IS SO COOL.. but then I got paranoid about not making it like yours when I should've just focused on doing what I wanted. XD

I'm up to 828 unique items. I still feel like I don't have enough.

I have 750 items, but only 422 of them are unique. XD; I should buy more commons, but I'd like to get at least one of the items I've been questing for first since I always seem to get sidetracked.

I find that I always buy new commons when making outfits simply because I think they might match. But I suppose that's a good way to expand my inventory. XD

And quite often - about half the time, generally - I end up removing the original item I started with because item three usually seals the "flavor" of the avatar or the color scheme of the avatar and other items would work better.

So having more items to choose from helps loads. >_>

I'm totally the same way!
I'll start by picking an item that I never use, then gradually add things and work with it and end up with a completely different avatar. xP

I don't have that many commons. I have 384 items, and at least half of those are CI's and EI's. :(
I have very few options when working with avatars.

I usually pick either an item or a colour... lately I seem to just start out an avatar by picking a basic tshirt and then layering the same few items over it in different colours. I need to break away from that but it's haaaard D:

I'd like to try out this three item challenge thing though, that would be fun and I need some inspiration for new avatars now that Project Mene is over xD

l also do that when creating my avatars. that is where the bulk of my inventory comes from as far as commons go.

Would it be best to make it commons only? And recent/cheaper EIs? Creps and I haven't been limiting ourselves because we pretty much have everything but that won't be the same for everyone. D:

And yeah, probably commons and recent CI's would be good. That way more people can get involved.

Or maybe you could even have two levels. One with just those two, and then one with more advanced items.
