I normally only listen to symphonic metal bands, but, despite disliking almost all mainstream music, I actually like a lot of Lady Gaga's songs.

I don't even know why, but all of my friends listen to mainly pop music, so I hear it all the time. I guess it's probably the music I like rather than the lyrics. Also, her music is somewhat more creative than most mainstream singers, which I suppose is why I even paid attention in the first place.

MissxMarionette! Katamari music is awesome! And my friend LOVES Of Montreal and I like a few of their songs. I wouldn't call them embarrassing.

I also have a song from Fraggle Rock on my iPod. Meaning, I listen to it. Relatively often.

In fact, I'm going to go see a Tegan and Sara concert tommorow for my birthday...even though it isnt until later this month.

There is a song called something like "I'm gonna steal your girlfriend." It's awful, and nobody should like it, but... It's so dang catchy.

I don't like songs that are about kiddy love, but it's just too damn catchy. I catch myself humming it sometimes.

Generally don't feel ashamed about what I listen to, though I've been heckled a lot for some of the people I like.
For example, my all-time favorite singer is Barbra Streisand, but loads of people have told me I'm strange for that? o___o??

Also, liking Nickelback has gotten me so many, "Are you serious?!" comments I can't even count them all.

Anyways, I have three musical skeletons in my closet:

- Boy bands. Yeah, I still like N*SYNC... and the Backstreet Boys... and NEWS....

- Miley Cyrus. Particulary her song Nobody's Perfect as Hannah Montana. Actually, I could throw in just about any Disney Channel performer, as I also like The Cheetah Girls's song Girl Power.

- Superchick. Yeah, a Christian rock band.

@Ezprethual: Yeah, that's part of why I'm embarrased to like boy bands. Usually I'm more into hardcore rock and some gangsta rap, with a little R&B here and there.

I'm really ashamed of thinking Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance is an awesome album. But it totally is! It's like, absurdly epic and way too intense. If they didn't take themselves so seriously, they could be an amazing band not worth being ashamed of.

I still tend to like the old boy bands. Like the original starting point of Backstreet Boys; New Kids On The Block; Boys To Men. Ah. I can't help it. And I know almost all the lyrics to their songs. And, more recently, Lady Gaga. I dislike her greatly as she is copying so many other artists and is completely unoriginal; but the beats of her songs get me addicted and I can't help but leave them on when they come on and sing along. :| But dang it! She copies all the good artists! :(

Umm, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Aural Vampire. And japanese and korean pop. (GAD.) Not all of Lady Gaga's stuff, but some of it, I think, has a lot of musical genius. Same with Black Eyed Peas. But I hate the style. I usually listen to metal, rock and blues. :<
And aural vampire is this gothic techno um, band? I think it's only one person, but she's really good. Just... gothic techno. (Actually, I really recommend them ._.

I have a lot of weird music too. I listen to folk (cuban, japanese, french, english....) and soul music. But I'm not ashamed of that, I just know that my friends wouldn't like it. Or be mature enough to like it. In my opinion, good music comes in all forms and it's such a shame that popular music doesn't tend to be... good. It can be, like, the Beatles, but it isn't always.

but in this case, the type of music I like that falls into the category would be:
Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus (I like her newer stuff, not Hannah Montana stuff), Miranda Cosgrove etc. those type of singers.

I think they are good singers, and I really don't care if other people hate them. they aren't the ones listening to it.

I'm pretty open to everybody I know about the music I listen to. I feel obligated to tell them that most of the music I listen to is foreign, especially asian music. I've been bad responses, of course. Like those childish high schoolers who will start making up phrases that sound chinese or something. -_- Ugh. But I deal.

I've also started to like Selena Gomez's music, but I might be biased because I think she's so adorable. xD

Well, I probably shouldn't like Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lavato, Jonas Brothers, or Selena Gomez, because I am 21. But I like their music. Some of it is hip and rockin'.

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. She tries way too hard to be original. I mean, look at her outfit for the MTV Music Video Awards. Horrible. She looked like a fruit roll-up. And most of her music is bad (in my opinion) but the chorus to Bad Romance just gets stuck in my head. ;[
