Dentists are always interesting. At least you know what the problem is and can fix it.

Yeah, but at the rate that this infection's been (I've had it for several months, untreated), odds are it's done damage to my jaw. >.<;; But luckily, this is just a teeth cleaning. I'm still going to ask them to numb my infected tooth, though.

Good morning!
Dental stuff never sounds like it will be a good time. I never think, "Yippee! I get to see the dentist today!" Sorry that your visit is compounded by an ailing tooth.
Sae - I don't think I've ever had to read Crime and Punishment. Is it extremely long and painful?

Ouch. I had books like that to read in grad school, but they were all dry, historic theory. Good luck!

Urg I read about dentists here. I have to go there next week. The dentist hates me. Well my teeth anyway. I just have very weak teeth which makes the visits not fun at all. Though at least tomorrow it's only my evil every 3 months shot. That's better than the dentist at least.
Oh I have to call animal control today! I forgot about that. I'll do it after I take my shower.

I'm glad you said something about your phone call - I need to make one for a prescription change and nearly forgot!
Sorry to hear about your teeth. I think that it's been almost 14 years since I've been to one - no insurance. :(

Well I called the number that the Police officer gave us. I'm glad I took my shower before calling because the woman just asked my name and number, my address and the address of the animal in question and she was like ok I'm sending an Animal Control officer out to your location now.
I feel bad that Timber might be taken away and all because I really like the dog, but even in a shelter he'd be better cared for.
I'll be away for a while. Going to wait for the officer and all that. I'll be back after everything is done.

Ok. I know you're doing what's best for Timber. At the very least, it will give the owners a chance to decide how committed they really are to being dog owners. Hang in there.

It just makes me mad how they treat the dog. It I weren't highly allergic I'd take the dog myself. That and shoot me a little kid that kicks and hits the dog.
The Animal Control guy just left obviously. He wasn't really to happy about it either. He was going to find out their names from city hall if that says anything about the situation. Like I said before in this thread or the cult thread, I can understand food not being out if they feed him in the morning and at night, but no water and no shelter for over 8 hours is not cool. I feel bad because it's supposed to rain today to.
My mom was asking if I told the guy that I didn't want to be identified in relation to the case. Like it would matter. We're the only ones who have a direct view into all of their yard unlike the other neighbors so if they think someone called animal control they'll suspect us. Not that I really care.

I have a love/hate thing going with one of my neighbors. They are unbelievably stupid people to begin with. Prime example: My first introduction to the wife consisted of her stating, "Those people that live over there (pointing) speak Mexican." I recall blinking a few times trying to figure out if she meant Quechua or Spanish. AND a giant Confederate flag waves proudly from their front porch.
Anyhow, we have four cats that used to run loose. Over a year ago, they complained that one of my cats was on top of their new truck and that they were all running around my yard, making their dog bark. From MY yard. They asked for animal control to come over instead of speaking with me at all. Mind you, their dog - that barks incessantly - gets loose. When she's in heat, we have tons of dogs in OUR yard trying to get to her through their inadequate fence. There have been times when I'd hold onto their dog in my yard so she wouldn't run loose, or I'd go into their yard when they weren't home and tie her back up. So, I was a bit pissed when they bitched about my cats. Particularly when there are other cat owners who have cats that roam.
Anyhow, that was nearly two years ago. I also spoke with them about burning trash in their yard. A few weeks ago, I was inside with all the windows shut and having trouble breathing. Otto had respiratory problems and had been hospitalized - he was coughing and his eyes were turning red. Nobody from their family was watching the fire, and it was next to a pile of wood for their fireplace. I waited something like 30 minutes before it became so bad that I called the fire department on them. I couldn't find anyone in their yard and I couldn't walk with the baby through that to get to their front door. Needless to say, they are now quite pissed. And... all I have to say is that I spoke with them not 2 weeks before about smoke being a problem for us so I haven't lost any sleep.
My point is that there are people out there who don't care about being a nuisance to others but will cry like a stuck pig if you complain about them. You have to look after yourself first - and in this case, nobody else is being an advocate for that dog. If it's bothering you, it's best to say something. If the twits weren't taking good care of their dog, I'd have called about her too.

We didn't bother speaking to them about Timber before calling animal control but that's another story. This is their 4th dog. Just in the time that they've lived here. We'll have been in this house 4 years come Halloween and they moved in after us. So they maybe have been here 3 years or less.
I wouldn't know how to begin speaking with them before I started yelling anyway.
Oops I forgot that the skirt is 600 gold and not 300 haha. Have to go play tetris some more. Though today I seriously suck since I can only think about the poor dog.

I hear you. It gets to a point where I feel like I'm speaking a foreign language with these people. They really look at me as if they don't understand me. I'm not one who enjoys confrontation, but I will not tolerate situations where I feel threatened in some way.
What happened with their other dogs?

Their first dog was Sammy Sue. I don't know what kind of dog she was but she was built like a dog meant to run. She was really skittish of people and jumped the fence a bit. For whatever reason they got rid of her. The next was a Pomeranian named Max. I liked Max. Though it was the same with Timber, they left him outside hot or cold with no food, water or shelter. Martin the guy who lives there didn't know April had put Max outside. April is the main evildoer of the two. So Martin opened the gate to bring in some construction stuff and Max escaped.
So that was the end of Max living there. He had a collar with tags but we're guessing someone found him and just took him in. He's a pricey dog. Either way it's gotta be better than where he was.
Then we get to the current set. Up the street some dog had puppies. They got two of the puppies. Dozer and Timber. Our other neighbor across the street got the only girl, her name is Daisy. Anyway this was just last spring or so. So they had the puppies and they treated them somewhat better at that point. They were still left outside in the heat a lot still no water and all. It just wasn't like now where they are leaving the dog outside 8+ hours with no water. They never clean up the poop and so the dog is basically living in filth.
Anyway closer to the end of Fall or so they got rid of Dozer because they couldn't 'take care of him' and so they only kept Timber. Timber of course was really horrible after that. He'd grown up with his brother and then all of a sudden he's gone. He cried a lot and whined. I couldn't blame the dog.
Now it's just worse. They chain him up because he jumps the fence. He does it to get into the other yard that has a few dogs so he can play. No water, no food, no shelter. He's out 8+ hours a day whether it's hot or freezing. Then of course the living in filth part I mentioned.
I'm the one going out there to give him water. I shouldn't even be stepping foot near the dog since I'm highly allergic.
I'm just fed up. Then you add in the neighbors brat kids. Tristan. I'd Like to shoot him. He's the one that goes outside to get Timber off the chain. He yells, hits and kicks him to get him off the chain. I would have been beaten before I ever did that. If they'd just pet the damn dog a few minutes before taking the chain off he's completely calm. He just wants attention and to play.
OK I'm done ranting. Just the topic of our neighbors and dogs makes me really mad. I used to think our other neighbors treated their dog bad. Leaving him outside for a few hours when it was really hot, but he had water, and could hide under the deck to cool off.

I have the same exact problems with my neighbors. There dogs get out all day long everyday. And they have mean, scary dogs. They get in our trash and dump it all over our yards. Then when we go to tell them that their dogs got loose and wrecked our trash cans again they just say, "Oh, sorry," and shut the door. Leaving us to clean up after their dogs. They have done so many other things, but I don't have time to get into all of that...

Oh my god, it is a good thing I am not their neighbor. I would go over there and beat them within an inch of their life and then deny THEM food and water. I can't believe nobody's called in about this before. You need to call in. That dog deserves better and clearly they are not capable of taking care of animals. And that kid needs a serious beating. My ass would have been seriously whooped if I ever, EVER behaved like that. There is no excuse for abusing an animal like that.
I'm glad to say my dog isn't treated like that. Mostly because when I do get to go down to see my mom (She has my dog, since my apartment doesn't allow them) and if I ever see my brother doing that (He's spoiled because neither parents are home much due to work, so my uncle takes care of him and he doesn't know jack about discipline) he gets spanked. I swear, I'm the only one who disciplines that kid and I shouldn't be. My uncle needs to get a clue, because I will not having that brat hitting my dog.
See, Hunter is an enthusiastic puppy. Comes from our last dog, Ruby. She was a good dog. A stray, and when nobody claimed her, the police said we could have her. One of her litters we gave away most of, but we kept one. She was getting old and passed away shortly after he was old enough to be fed by us, which was lucky I guess, but I still miss her. I remember him, all wobbly kneed and wrinkly-faced. He was a chocolate lab and something else, so he had all that skin and not enough body to stretch it over, lol, so he had this cute droopy face. And he'd always wander over and whine at my chair when I was on the computer; so I'd pick him up and put him in my lap, and he'd fall asleep in my lap. He's so big now.
But he's still really rambunctious and my brother is small compared to him, so when he wants to play, he gets a little rough and Eddie ends up getting hurt, so he doesn't like Hunter. Still no excuse to hit my dog though, and he knows it. Hunter leaves you alone if you tell him to. He's a good dog, just playful. *Sighs* I miss my baby.

We would have called animal control sooner but as I mentioned in the other thread I think, our city doesn't actually have it's own animal control. So we had to find out which city shared with us. Which was hard because there was nothing in the phone books, nothing online. In the end we only found the number because we ran into a cop at the gas station.
I hate our neighbors. If I wasn't highly allergic to dogs, and then mildly allergic to cats I would have worked in a vets office as the person that takes care of the animals in the kennel. I sadly can't though. I would have loved doing that job.

It's rough when you love animals to see them mistreated. I'm not patient enough to train dogs to keep them as pets, which is why I have cats instead. If I had known that they would have to be inside cats, I would have limited our number to two. Having four inside one house is not fun. They become rather bored and territorial. I'm just glad that we have a fair amount of space inside, but some of it is off-limits to the cats. I'd love to see them outside again, but two of them tend to stray and more of our newer neighbors have dogs that run loose.

Our cats, all four are all inside cats. We have one that is allergic to fleas.
Most of the house is open to the cats, just my moms room and the step dads room are off limits. Fred stays in the step dads room which is why the others can't go in. My mom has a water bed so no claws need to be in there. It was better when the step dad still lived in the basement. Fred would stay down there and come up once in a while. Now that Fred is stuck upstairs all the time it's insane.
If I could without there being a mutiny I would close my door all the time since I'm the one that's allergic to the cats. When I close my door though, then I get stuck with a bunch of cigarette smoke coming up through the vent.

Do you mean to tell me that with all your health problems, someone in your house effing smokes?? *Taking a deep breath* Mark and I smoked before I knew I was pregnant. Grad school plus my first husband's death were kind of stressful. Smoking was better than illegal stuff. Anyhow, we both quit. I quit rather spontaneously before I knew about the baby. Mark switched to chewing tobacco - very disgusting, but less obnoxious. That just makes me want to grrr... so GRRRRR....

He smokes in the 'garage' It's just some of it still comes up trough the vents for heating and air conditioning. He had stopped for a long while but started again. If we mention anything about it he'll get cranky. We just have to hope that he'll stop again on his own.

I know it's rough to quit, particularly if you have stress in your life that's out of your control. This is just an issue that upsets me. When I quit, I quit cold and had been smoking in excess of two packs a day. I know it's hard. I go around and around with a friend of mine who recently had a baby and was smoking throughout her pregnancy and continues to do so. She cannot understand why her baby's birth weight and current weight are below average. I apologize if I seem overly judgmental, but it bothers me to know that this could be hurting you.

It bothers my mom more than me. She has 2 vents in her room that allow it to go up and he smokes directly under her room. I only have 1 vent in my room. I'd close it but then I'd freeze my ass off. He doesn't like to smoke though so we have hope that he will end up quiting again. He'd quit for a whole 6 months and then he got stressed out about the wedding in October and bummed some cigarettes off of someone and now we're back to square 1.

A friend of mine who teaches Oriental Medicine - Mitch is his name so I don't have to keep saying, "my friend who's a doctor of Oriental Medicine" - told me that it takes at least six months for the nicotine to completely leave the body, and that it's necessary to quit cold and not use other forms of nicotine as a substitute. It's a nightmare to quit, but for some reason, I woke up one day and just did it. Lily had been begging me to stop.

All I can do is hope that Ethan decides to quit again.
Then again when I think about it, it's no worse than me getting high off paint fumes or the smell of permanent marker when I'm working on my art. Just those only give me a migraine. The smoke makes my throat sore to.
Though I have to say for art. Listening to metal is great. Seems to make me work faster haha.
Which is why I'm slow again. I made a bunch of black and white abstract pieces last year for Christmas and all. Really did take me most of last year to do them all. I made rough sketch of them all so I had copies and lately I've been in the process of actually working on them. I don't like making one of a kind pieces only to give them away. I like to have myself some copies. Just copies take forever. I have the one I'm working on right now then two after it. Then I have to go back and rework them all so the lines are all completely dark.
EDIT: Ok I'm really pissed off now. April came home a while back and Timber is STILL outside. Of course she left again without bothering to put him inside and it's sprinkling outside. We're supposed to have thunderstorms again today, meaning it won't be sprinkling for long.
*Goes about fuming in a rage because of how pissed off she is*
I'd like to leave that wench out in a freaking thunderstorm without something to hide under and without an umbrella.
