I had that problem with a package a while back. Turns out they ha delivered it to the wrong person. Thankfully that person sent it back and it eventually made it to my place, it just took a bit longer.

once when we had sent my niece a package it went to the neighbor. even though it said "Paige Bell" on it, they still opened it. it wasn't until they realized it was just a bunch of little kid toys and nothing all that awesome or expensive that they took it to my brother.

From what I have been told that means that it is probably coming by one of the other 2 companies & hasn't arrived at the post office. When it gets to the post office it will say something like on the street or out for delivery.

It's an abbreviation which stands for United Parcel Service.
Most people do just call them ups though.
