Cherry- Oh no! Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. ^^; I'm only reading books I already own at the moment because I'm afraid of running out of time too, hehe. Good luck reading~!
Yeah, my dream is to have a den where the walls are lined with bookshelves, and in the center is a big comfy couch, and opposite it, a TV. There might be some chairs too. Just a nice place to curl up with whatever form of media I feel like.
Hmm, you know what! It'll probably serve as some self-motivation if I type up a list of all the books I need to read (or reread) that I already own. Let's see.

You have some good books in your list. :D
My current to-read books are the 6 Earthsea books I own (5 more now :)). Apparently there are short stories too, or something? I may have to buy those, too, at some point...
Woops, I looked over a few books. Added those to the list too.
I hear good things about Earthsea, it's on my (long, long) to-read list for books I don't own. I'm guessing by how many of them you have, you've read them before and are out for a reread?
I've read the last three. I bought the first three, finally, a couple months ago, so I'm going to go through the whole series now. :) It took me the last 3 hours to read 200 pages though... It's going to take me longer than I originally thought. ><;;
Before, I would have been able to read 200 pages in 2 hours, so I feel like I've slowed down, hehe. Good to know I'm not the only one out there. xD
Yeah, it's not one long story. Sometimes, characters may appear in other books, but it doesn't seem to be a continuous storyline. Just one universe like you said. :)
I bought the Earthsea Quartet after reading A Wizard of Earthsea, I didn't realise there were so many other stories that fit around them until recently. ^^;
Even with series like that, when it's all in the same universe but not all one story, I usually try to read all the books in order. There's always little references to previous books, or better explanations of a thing when it's introduced.
Yeah, that's why I'm going to read it in order this time. :D Hopefully the other stories don't have some significance that I'll miss out on by not reading them as well..
Cherry, at some point in time, just promise me that you'll finish Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell! I really think it's you're type of book, there's something in it that you'll enjoy once you have the time to really get into it.
You should also read 1776 by McCullough since I'm reading that right now too.
And geez, the Earthsea series sounds good. Ursula K LeGuin is one of those authors that I always want to read, but never seem to get around too. Maybe I'll have to change that this year. It certainly wouldn't be that hard to track down her stuff, she's been getting more popular lately. I bet my own local library has her first novels.
OKAY, NOW I'M JUST REALLY FRUSTRATED AT MYSELF. So I checked out The Hunger Games today, right? Now, I didn't finish The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo or Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, but I was enjoying them quite a lot. I just found it difficult for me to read. Not that the books were difficult, it was just like my brain was refusing to focus on more than a chapter or so at a time (more or less - chapter lengths vary by book, of course). So this afternoon I found myself bored with some spare time and I started reading The Hunger Games. And I just finished it.
It was enjoyable, and I'm glad to finally have another book under my belt, but... really, Cherry? Really? In my defense, the text was pretty huge, so its 374 pages was more like 100 from Strange & Norrell. But...
Knerd - Oh, I fully intend on finishing it! I had just run out of renewals on it (my library only allows 2 per checkout). Next I'll be checking out The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo so I finish that, then I'll be checking out Strange & Norrell again and finishing it.
I was enjoying it quite a bit and I'd like to see how the story progresses. I can't even say "finishes" because it had barely even started, but yeah.

I've been using my library iOS app to keep renewing a pair of books while I've been outside of Glasgow. I'm hoping it has actually registered on their system or I'll have probably reached the cap for late fees on both of them.
I returned the library books today and the guy behind the desk didn't say anything, hurrah! When I checked the cap for late fees it's only £3.10 per book up to a maximum of £10 anyway.
Kat- I had to look up how much that was in USD, hehe. ^^; That's not too bad. If you find a rare book or an otherwise really expensive book, you can just permanently keep it..... >_> (Just kidding! Totally NOT endorsing stealing.)
Luckily, my library doesn't have late fees. However, if you have a book out late you can't check out anything else until you return it. It's nice to know I won't get fined if I lose track of time and return it a day or two late. But it's frustrating when I want a book and the only copy is out, due a month ago.
I bought The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss! It'll have to wait until I'm done with the Earthsea series, but I'm excited... I heard the series is good. :)
