Heh, I have tiny hands so I'll probably either drop A Clash of Kings a lot or it'll keep snapping shut all of the time when I'm trying to read it.

Last night I was reading before bed and since I was getting tired I started looking around for my bookmark so I could put the book down. I was using my Kindle.

I agree. My only complaint was it was extremely hard to read what the Joker was saying because the font they used was red and all slanty....oh and it had this awful white drop shadow behind it.

LOL I laughed so hard over that. Also I find that I read heavier/bigger books much faster when I read them on my iPad. Mostly because I used to have to take breaks because bigger books would make my hands/fingers hurt.

Also update my list...so it has all my books I've read so far. I've been really lazy about updating my list here since I also keep one on goodreads.

I tend to read less on my iPad/Kindle because the percentage bar doesn't encourage me as much as being able to see the pages.

Kat - OMG. I have the hardest time with a book I'm not enjoying that much on my Kindle. Like, I try and figure out how many pages there are left or how far I've gotten in the two hours (that felt like 10 years) and I always feel like I'm getting nowhere.

Last night I told Car'a'Carn: that I am going to reread the Harry Potter books (something else not on my list ) and he challenged me saying he could get through all the books before I can. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. I'm already on chapter 8 and I'm going to read a few chapters before I have to meet my daughter's bus/run some errands.

Would you like me to wait so you can get in an extra chapter? I am on chapter 12 now.

I'm a happy cherry right now. Yesterday I found a brand new, never read copy of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for 25 cents at my favorite little thrift shop. It still had the price sticker on it from the store it was originally purchased at, for about $6. I was reading this book a month or two ago on loan from the library, but I ran out of extensions and had to return it. Now I can finish it at my own pace! And keep it for later rereading! The only downfall is that the copy I had from the library was one of those tall paperbacks, and this is a little mass market paperback, so even though I noted down what page I was on when I returned the book, this copy is going to have a completely different page count, so it's going to be difficult to find where I left off. But yay, a quarter for a book that isn't in horrible condition!

As far as my challenge goes, it's still going very slowly. College consumes me. But my history class was cancelled today, so I had an hour free to do a little reading. I could have used it to catch up on some textbook reading, but I decided to read from a novel instead. Scandalous.

Hooray for cheap books! Isn't that just the best feeling in the world?

I had a good find this weekend too - World War Z by Max Brooks.
I tried listening to the audiobook once before, but the sound effects made it a pretty gruesome experience. I couldn't get any farther than the first chapter. But it's much more fun to read the book itself. I'm already a big fan of how he pieced together all the different perspectives and framed the history on a global level. Hopefully I'll finish reading it this week.

Yay! I remember you mentioned the audiobook before, and I remember hounding you to read the real thing and give it a second shot. Glad you're enjoying it! It's done truly wonderfully.

I've just finished book #46 is my challenge!

"When We Were Orphans" by Kazuo Ishiguro was amazing. I think this means that I'll have to track down more works by him.

So excited! I'm just about done with my Book Challenge. I'm trying to get it done before November because of NanoWrimo. When it comes I want to be able to focus on that, and not worry about anything else. :P

I like Cherry's redshirt avatar. :)

Went to the library today to just look at the books which was madness because I ended up leaving with a biography of H.P. Lovecraft. Need to actually finish any of the books I keep picking up.

Sadly, I have no recollection of the joke behind it, but it does make me giggle.

Which one is yours? Your name might be on it, but Knerd's signature is refusing to show it to me right now. But I'm sure I've seen it enough times to know it!

It has a chibi Knerd running away form this peanut person. xD. I say peanut person cause they're just a blurb in the background. xD

Sadder still that I still have it in my photobucket . xD

Ah, that one, yeah! I never noticed the person in the background, actually, shows how much I pay attention. Given the pointy looking teeth, I thought she was attacking.

Has anyone read The Casual Vacancy yet? I know it just came out, but loads of people finished it already.

I haven't seen anything about The Casual Vacancy yet, if Waterstones hadn't sent me an email I wouldn't even know it was out. >.< *returns to University created void separated from the outside world*

Our local library actually got copies of those recently. We have "new copies" and "hot copies." Hot copies can't be reserved, it's a first come first serve. Right now it's sitting in my car waiting to be read.

O_O It would seem that I have finished my 50 Book Challenge.
But 16 of the books were re-reads, so personally it doesn't count for me yet.
I'm going to keep reading and see how many I can get before New Year's, though. ^_^

Congrats, kita!

My challenge this year was for 25, but I don't think I'm gonna make it. Damn school.
