I just started a new book called "Afterworlds". It's interesting because it's like two books in one. The white pages are the ones about a fictional author IRL and the ones edged in black are the story that she's written. It's really interesting so far.

That actually sounds really cool, zig! I'll have to look for it at the book store, to see what you mean, though (not good at visualizing!)

If you zoom it in a look at the top of the book you can kind of see what I'm talking about...

Oooh. So there are like entire pages of black with a fictional writers stories within the story? That sounds pretty cool!

They're like black bored to save on ink I presume but yep, that's the general idea!

I've been re-reading Simon R. Green's Nightside series. But I need a more peaceful book to read for the weekend. I'm going up to the mountains and it's snowing.

(37/40 books for the year so far!)

Well the white pages are about a young girl who is publishing her first book and her new life in New York City. The black pages are the book she is writing and it's about a psychopomp girl (who can see ghosts and go into the land of the dead). It's sort of like a creepy romance thing. Both parts are very well done and each chapter leaves you on a cliffhanger so that you constantly want to go back and forth between each world to know what's going to happen next.

Sounds good! And I like the word psychopomp. Though, that sounds like an interesting way of writing a book. Very clever!

I recently discovered that I really like non-fiction books that aren't dry as dust.

39/40 books for the year, and four books ahead of schedule!

..and seriously thinking of reading the Hunger Games series.

I'm not a huge fan of the book that I am currently reading. It's called "Nantucket Blue".

Yeah, the Hunger Games trilogy will definitely have to wait until next year.

Though Gardens of the Moon.... May wait until after Christmas?

Hunger Games wasn't the best series. The first book was okay but after that they seemed to get progressively worse...

I haven't heard of that one. Is it a series or a standalone?

Gardens of the Moon is book #1 in a series, the Malazan Book of the Fallen. I saw it on someone's read list on GoodReads, read the description and it looks like it might be good.

I enjoyed reading The Hunger Games series ^_^
What's funny is that while I was reading, I did not have the impression that the books were about romance at all...and then the movies came out.
