The main cry-inducing thing in New Moon didn't make me cry, but the book still managed to make cry at one point. The book WILL get you eventually. XD

Edward leaving didn't actually get me. It made me sad, but I sort of knew what happened with him later on (my boyfriend loves the series and had told me about it) so I wasn't so sad.
It was actually something else that got me.

*sigh* and then on the re-read TWILIGHT made me cry. But I was sort of in a mood. I was all depressed and shit, so Edward being all sweet made me like "THAT WILL NEVAR EVAR HAPPEN FOR ME DEAR GOD TT_TT"

I do hope that everyone is enjoying it so far. :) Looks like I'll have to get around to finishing the series one of these days, since everyone is so enamored over it.

Yeah, I think the reason...well ONE of the reasons...that Edward leaving got to me so bad was that they had been together...six...months, correct? Close to that anyway. And I'm like exactly Bella's age, and I've had a handful of boyfriends, but the only serious relationship that I've ever had ended about at that time mark and the conversation we had was like...exactly the same (minus the vampire references). It hit entirely too close to home I think. ;~;

I haven't come back here for months :o

I'm reading Pillars of the Earth now. Has anyone else read it?

Finished Breaking Dawn in a little over a day. My neck is killing me from reading in weird positions, but it's worth the pain and partial vision loss. xD

I now have 4 books finished ^__^;;

I finished Death Note: Another Note and it was great.
I am now reading The Host.

Everyone says it is great so I thought why not try.

I tried to read The Host, I got to the point where she was running out of water in the Desert when I had to return it back to the library.

Just some randomness--

I went book-buying on a whim today and came back with three books~
Les Miserables, an unabridged translated copy
The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge
and a book of selected prose and poetry by Pushkin. 8'3

And now I know of a nice place to look for used books in my area.

I updated my list - I just finished reading 'Dead Souls' by Nikolai Gogol, and I loved it! I really need to invest in some more Russian literature. It might be a bit daunting to start, but it never disappoints.

I just finished re-reading "A Prayer for Owen Meany". I really like it even though I'm agnostic. The first time I read it was 2 years ago for an Honors English class. Owen still rules. And Dick is still a dick >w>

I'm in the middle of Breaking Dawn right now, and I'm not going to post any spoilers, but OMG. I cannot believe it. Stephenie Meyer is an amazing author.

Sounds interesting, haha. I think I'll go look it up. XD

But I think "Dead Souls" will have to wait until I've delved more into Russian literature. XD; So far it's only been short stories for me. But I've read some parts of Dostoevsky's "Notes from Underground" and-- no, wait, I think I might have read some excerpts from "Dead Souls" in the Russian literature class that I took. @o@; The longer stories were harder to get through, I think, but still, they were pretty interesting~

@Lura - I've never heard of Dead Souls, but it sounds interesting. As soon as i'm done reading Breaking Dawn and the Host I'll pick it up.

It took me a while to get into the Host. The first 100 or so pages were like torture, but as soon as (SPOILER ALERT) Wanderer got to the cave, and found Jared and Jamie, my interest was instantly captured. I haven't finished it yet though, I had to pause for Breaking Dawn. I NEED to know how that story ends.
