Jade blinked, and stared at Miranda for a few moments. "Wha..why?" He had taken a step back, then he grinned. Miranda's sexy brother wanted to talk to him. Maybe it would be a nice conversation. In moments Jade had made his way to the phone, picking it up and smiling rather cheerfully as he held the phone to his ear. "This is Jade how may I help you?" He was all business like and collected on the outside. Inside his heart fluttered, wild and sporadic. Like a bird flying on it's own for the first time.

Miranda moves off to the side, not wanting to intrude, but close enough to hear what they say. She's an available shoulder should he need one.
Brandi clears his throat softly, moving further from the dance floor, the music quieting a little over the phone speaker. "I...uh, how are you doing? You were crying when I left, are you alright now?" He was fiddling with the paperclips on his boss' desk, for that's where he was. His boss was cool like that, to let him use the phone when he needed it.

For a few moments, Jade hesitated, glancing around for a moment and shying further away from the others a bit. "Ah..well...You know. Just that time of month I guess. Emotions out of whack." Jade had smiled a bit, shrugging just slightly, his voice had dropped a bit. "I'm never okay."

Brandi shuffles his feet a little, wondering what he walked through that his left foot smelled funny. "I'm sorry to hear that. Is there something I can do? Like maybe invite you to a movie or something?" He tries not to rush his words, he didn't want to sound like a child, even though he couldn't help but feel like one, asking out the cute guy down the road over the phone like this. "I know a great place that shows romantic comedies every night, nothing outrageous. Perhaps dinner? I'd be happy to treat you to Italian if you'd like..." He knew he was rambling, but he didn't know if he should keep trying to sweeten the deal, or if he should just shut up and wait for Jade to answer. "It... It's just an idea..."

Jade's mouth dropped open, as he stood there. Looking much like a confused fish that had just run out of water to swim in. At least he wasn't flopping around...yet. Had he just been asked out? "I..." Jade had frozen. His lips moved for a moment but his words hadn't caught up to the motion. He stopped, blinking a bit. "I.." Jade was blushing furiously. "..I'd like that....I'd like that very much.." It was a wonder that Jade hadn't dropped the phone. Jade's voice had dropped again. "..But...I...I don't like romantic comedies...they always make me cry..."

Brandi nearly chokes. Had he really said romantic comedies? what was he thinking? Romance isn't for a first date. "Uh... I... uhm..." His nerve was rapidly flying out the window, laughing as it fled from him. "I... uh... well... Dragon! The Dragon movie is still playing. Do you like dragons?" His words rushed out, and he could only hope he didn't actually yelp them out like he thought he did.

Jade was silent for a few moments, still blushing and smiling a bit at how flustered Brandi sounded now. A soft giggle would first answer Brandi's question, before Jade nodded slightly. "Yes..I do like dragons....But do you like dragons?..." Jade was blushing a bit redder. "I wouldn't want you to take me to a movie that you wouldn't enjoy.." That smile had turned to a soft frown, and he gripped the phone a bit tightly.

Brandi sighs, proud of himself for not scaring him off the phone just yet. "I've seen the movie eight times, and it just keeps getting better. It's adorable, with action and comedy and simply breath-taking scenes." His voice goes softer for a moment as he continues, not knowing if Jade knew a lot about his family curse or not. "One of my cousins has dragon wings and a tail. He can't fly with them, but he can glide decently if he needs to." He speaks up again, looking out to the dance floor, proud of himself for not belting out an apology for bothering Jade and fleeing the office. "So... Dinner and Dragon then?"

Jade giggled softly again. "Ooh" in response to being told about the dragon winged cousin. Jade nodded vigorusly for a few moments before remembering that Brandi couldn't see him, because he was on the phone. "Y-yea....Dinner and a Dragon sounds great to me." Jade was blushing furiously again, he shifted a bit on his feet, fidgeting a bit, not so much nervous..more anxious than anything.

Brandi stutters a bit, not having expected Jade to actually agree. "Uhm, tonight?" He looks down at his clothes and thinks to himself, "Shit, I need to find different stuff to wear..." He looks at the clock then at his feet, then at the clock again. He was figuring out how long it would take for him to run how for a shower and a change then the trip to the cafe. "Say around seven?"

"S-seven...sounds great." Jade wriggled a bit. "I'll see you then...bye." Jade waited for the click that would signal that Brandi had hung up first before he clicked his phone off and set it down softly next to the cash register. He glanced at the clock that hung on the wall on one side of the room, frowned slightly. Glanced at everyone still in the main room and blushed furiously again. "I...uhm...I have a date...so...I have to go pick out an outfit right now!" Jade's last few words were rushed and he turned and bolted through the kitchen almost as if his life depended on it. He was up those stairs and in his apartment in record time. He made a bee line for his room or rather. A bee line for the closet in his room. He hadn't even noticed that makeshift bed Miranda had put together earlier.
Already the closet doors were open and he was throwing clothing out behind him. Most of it met a exasperated sigh followed by a "No.." Quite a bit of the outfits he threw off to the side were very feminine and involved skirts.

"Have fun Brandi, and show that mystery man a good time, huh?" Brandon's boss, and friend, was letting him have the night off for his date with Jade. It wasn't like Brandi took a lot of time from his job, so whenever he asked for a night off, his boss was more than happy to give it to him.
He doesn't reply as he walks out the door, merely glancing back and throwing up his hand in a half wave. Then he was out the door and jogging down the street. In minutes he was past Jack's Cafe and just minutes after that he was entering his penthouse apartment. He lived so sparsely with everything that he could afford a nice place close to work.
In his own room, he dug through his clothes, groaning when he realized the obvious. Everything he owned was black or a shade of black. Not wanting to waste time by shopping, he pulls out a button up charcoal shirt and a pair of black slacks. "Yeah, this will work." He takes off his bracelets, removes the collar, and takes a shower. He doesn't put the accessories back on when he's done. They were show for work, not for a date.
Once dressed, he pulls on a pair of gray sneakers and a silver tail ring that keeps the pants from sagging over his tail when he sits down. Spiking his hair, leaving his shirt untucked for the 'casual' look, he leaves his apartment once more, his cologne leaving a happy cloud of scent behind him. Normally he wouldn't wear the stuff, but Axe is the only thing that can cover his nervous musky scent when he's nervous. It was a wolf thing.
He was pulling open the door to Jumping Jack's not an hour after leaving work. "Hey Mira, is he ready?"
((His boss isn't a real character either. I don't even know if the boss is male or female...))

Antria studies Brandi in curiosity not having over heard the conversation at the counter "hmn... didnt he just go to work? must have something important to do here" she sniffs picking up the odor of axe, a smell she knows almost anywhere due to her father wearing it all the time. "maybe a date?"
not seeing any customers she decides to use her extra time to study for her math class, college trigonometry, so that she can figure out a particular difficult string of equations

Really it hadn't taken Jade any time at all to get ready. He had jumped in the shower and back out rather quickly after finally deciding on an outfit. He ran his fingers through his short blonde hair and quickly dressed in a green and black skirt with the matching leg warmers, low heeled knee black high boots were mostly hidden by the long leg warmers. He also wore the matching green and black top and the matching arm warmers.
He stood there, staring at himself in the mirror for awhile...Wondering if maybe the red one would look better. Then he frowned a bit wondering if he'd gone a little overboard with the outfit..but..it was one of his favorites. Jade fidgeted infront of the mirror for a little while longer before he finally decided he looked fine. Hesitantly he made his way back down into the kitchen area, moving through it carefully so as not to bump anything that might spill onto his outfit, when he reached the swinging doors that led into the main area of the cafe he stopped. Peeking out of the round window of one of the doors, his heart skipped a beat. Brandon was already there.
Jade hesitated. Alot of what if's coming to mind. He wasn't ready to go out there yet.

Jade let out a soft surprised squeak when Kris gave him that gentle shove. He hadn't expected it at all and gentle as it was, Kris had still managed to move Jade through those doors. Stumbling for a few moments before he regained his balance he turned to look at Kris, frowning slightly. "...It's not nice to shove people..." A slight blush colored his cheeks as he slowly turned back around.
Jade hesitated, smiling a bit nervously. "Ah..uhm...Hi?" He glanced at Kris for a moment and inhaled deeply. Everything would be fine, he reassured himself and slowly moved towards Brandon. "I..I'm ready...to go.." That slight blush darkened a bit as he came closer to Brandon.

"I don't know, Brandi." Miranda would have gone in search of her boss, but just as she turned, Jade was pushed out of the kitchen by Kris. "Oh!" It looked like he barely had his feet under him, and she thought he would fall, but then he was stumbling toward them. "I guess he's ready."
Brandon was looking over Jade's chosen attire. It would certainly be interesting in the restaurant, no doubt. Well, the guy did seem to fit right in with the rest of this odd city where eras and trends tended to blend through the people. "Are you ready to go? I hope you can walk in that, I don't have a car." He was prepared to carry Jade should he need to, but that was something he rather hoped to avoid on a first date.
Somehow, his demeanor seemed different than before. He was sure that Jade wouldn't notice, not knowing him that well, but his sister would know. Sure enough, she was giving him an odd look. "Brandon? Are you actually nervous? You're sweating..." She covers her mouth with her hand, barely hiding the smirk behind it. "You're so nervous! You're acting like you're in high school."
Brandi couldn't deny her accusation. She was right, and the blush spread up his neck as a resulting confirmation to her remarks. "I've never had to do the dating scene. I'm allowed to be nervous." He turns to Jade, somewhat panicked look on his features. "Shall we go before she starts teasing in earnest?"
Miranda turns to Jade as well, her hands down on her apron and her tail wagging behind her. "Have fun tonight Jade. Try not to think that you've been thrown to the wolves, okay?"
Brandon groans and covers his face in his hands. "Now you remind him that I'm a wolf?" His tail, as was already, squeezes closer to the backs of his legs. He was honestly nervous about the date. With his ears flat, he holds out his hand to Jade. "Shall we go, beautiful?" He knew it was his first compliment since Jade stumbled out, but he hoped it'd make up for not giving one earlier.
"Oh, if only I had a camera. I'm sure Natasha would love to see a picture of the cute couple." She was grinning at the guys, honestly happy for them. "Have fun, okay?"

Jade had nodded slightly at the comment about being able to walk. Looking down for a moment and then shyly at Brandon. Another nod when Brandon asked if they should go now, to escape Miranda's teasing. That nervousness though was creeping away and when Brandon groaned and covered his face with his hands from Miranda's comment, Jade giggled a bit. He took the offered hand and those lips had parted to say something, but he had stopped. Brandon had called him beautiful.
Jade blushed deeply and fidgeted on his feet for a moment. Wriggling some before he squeezed Brandon's hand and smiled lightly. "I-I'm not..beautiful." Then he smiled at Miranda and the others, giving a slight wave as he started towards the door, pulling Brandon somewhat. Mostly he did want to get away from the teasing, even as good natured as it was. This was his first date, and he wanted it to get started soon so he could spend as much time as possible with Brandon. He called over his shoulder softly. "I..I'll be home at a reasonable time.." Then he was pushing the door open.

"And what makes you think you're not beautiful? Are you insinuating that I don't know beautiful when I see it?" His voice had a teasing tone to it as Brandi tugged Jade under a nearby streetlamp and pretended to scrutinize his every feature. "Mhmm, yep, I was right, you were wrong. You are beautiful. Whether you see it or not."
He knew better than to kiss on the first date, but he couldn't help nut think that Jade looked so kissable right then. A breeze blew at the right moment, however, and his tail poofed up from the unexpected chill. With a shiver, he looks down the street toward where the theater was nestled between an apartment and old office building. "We could hail a cab, I'm sure, if you'd rather not walk there."

Jade had shook his head lightly at Brandon's questions. Those lips parted but whatever he'd been about to say was cut off with a very light squeak as Brandon pulled him under a streetlamp and inspected his every feature. Jade shivered lightly under that scrutiny and blushed deeply. Jade was never certain what he saw whenever he looked at himself in the mirror, but he was sure it wasn't beautiful. "....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.." He muttered almost lamely. Looking away for a moment before shrugging slightly.
When Brandon mentioned getting a cab, he shook his head. "..Walking is fine, it isn't very far..." He smiled brightly at Brandon. Tugging his hand a bit as Jade stepped away from the streetlamp they had stopped under. Tonight would be a good night, he was almost certain of that.

He shakes his head. "Perhaps someday you'll see what I mean." He points over his shoulder as they pass a bustling club. "I'm so glad I'm not working tonight, that place is packed to the ceiling." His ears perk up at the sound of someone calling his name, but he doesn't turn toward them and they walk on. "If you ever show up at the club, just tell the bartender your name, you'll get drinks for free, okay? Though, I'll probably see you at the door if ya do show up." He was nervous. He knew he was showing how nervous he was, but he couldn't help it.
Now if only the cold feeling would leave his tail alone.

Jade bit his bottom lip lightly as they passed the club. "If I ever went in there...it'd be just so I could see you." He blushed almost furiously at that admission. "I don't mind clubs too much..but they aren't things I frequent often...I don't being around all the drunk people." A shiver ran down his spine and he shrugged lightly, running his other hand through his blonde locks.
Jade bit his bottom lip softly, watching the ground as they walked. He wasn't sure what else to say..he wasn't really sure what was expected of him. It was his first date. What would he do if Brandon tried to kiss him? Push him away or let him do it? Would the latter choice make him seem like an easy slut? Jade's cheeks seemed a bit flushed.

Brandi laughs, still nervous. "We don't allow them to drink themselves inebriated. Anyway, most of the drinks are nonalcoholic." He looks over at the blushing blond. "Jade? What's wrong? You look really flushed." Stopping, he pulls his date to a halt. "Did I say something I shouldn't have? Mira says I flirt too much, I didn't mean to embarrass you."

Jade had nodded slightly at the comment about most of the drinks being nonalcoholic. When Brandon stopped him he blinked, looking at him uncertainly for a moment. Blinking again when he was asked what was wrong. Jade toed the ground a bit and looked down at the ground. "..No..No...you didn't do anything.." He mumbled softly and sighed lightly. "I just...I don't know what to do...I've never been on a date before." He had looked up from the ground now, looking at Brandon's face. "...I don't know what to say or how to act..I don't want to do something to make you think I'm not interested...because I am interested!" He blushed furiously at that admission and shifted on his feet some.
"But I don't know what to do..I'm afraid I might do something and you'll just think that I'm an easy slut-boy..." Those eyes widened slightly as he realized what he'd just said. He twirled around quick, turning his back to Brandon, those arms going up to wrap around his own torso as he hugged himself. When he spoke now his voice was a light whisper. "..I'm not easy...I've never....done it...and I've only ever been kissed once.." Jade's bottom lip trembled and he bit down hard on it.
