Yes, it's been great to have new blood into the franchise. And if some of those people actually like the original more power to them. (I'm talking series not movies the movies were WAY better than the series was) The actors are all very talented and the second reboot movie was well done all around. It's just that you used to be able to have an intellectual conversation about Exo-politics and the possibility of that future with out some attention seeking nutcases randomly yelling "SPOCK AND KIRK FOEVAH BIOTCH!!!!"...in their gender-bent kirk and spock binkis.

I'm pretty new to Star Trek too, but I started with watching the originals on netflix one day. (like original pilot episode to 1st season) I loved it, and then went to see Into Darkness. While yes, I was going "ermahgerd, cumberbatch" cuz i love the sherlock show, i did go for it being a star trek thing. if i didn't understand something or get it, boyfriend explained it to me. gotta say, i wish i got into the show earlier :)

haha that's true - people are watching it because of the actors. And while you can't have intelligent conversations with those people, at least it raises awareness to a series that others love and encourages people to go back and watch the old series. Not everyone will, but enough will. XD

I just thought the new casting was perfect...not because of the sexiness...but because of the actors' abilities to play the old characters in a similar way but still keep it with the up to date style :D

I know, right? I had a huge laugh in my first Anthropology/Archaeology class because we were talking about Kennewick man-- The remains are believed to be 14,000-ish years old but when they did a facial reconstruction it was the splitting image of Patrick Stewart.

I was pleasantly surprised by Simon Pegg in particular. At first I was like...really Shawn of the Dead guy as Scotty...THA FUUU you thinking casting?! But then I watched and was like wow he was really good as Scotty. O.O

haha awww I'm so glad <3333 I know that I like to try to use some colors that I know are popular, and some colors that need some love. So for things like regal and sea green and sparrow that don't have a lot of love...i used those this time :D XD

And then the jungle foliage was just fun in different greens ;D XD

i've seen bits and pieces all my life. So i was excited for that first reboot. and than i loved the reboot better than OTS... tehee.. i didn't even know the actors >.>

I'm still fairly limited by my inventory, but I do my best to experiment with what I do have to get some fun layers out of everything. I'm finally at the point where I'm seeking out particular colored items rather than "oh, that looks nice and would go with just about anything..."

Regal, sea green and sparrow are beautiful colors - I'm glad to see so much more regal, actually because it was one of those colors I was seeking out! xD

Petrol and regal are newer palettes so they don't have a lot of items yet.

sea green is a palette that's crazy old but wasn't used for much - so I used that too XD plus the sea....ship wreck on a beach...felt it went well togehter XD

hair colors was actually one of the things was thinking of adding to my runway.
I wanted to eventually come up with hairs that matched each color menewsha has.
but i'm working on the colors for pixeling first.
